Jim was awoken by the ringing of his phone, he groggily took off the comic that was on his face, tiredly picked the phone and answered it

"Hey kate" jim rubbed his eye as he sat up

"Jimbo it's super late, where are you, you better hurry up or else we'll get frazzing expelled" Kate's voice rambled

"Don't worry, I'll be there just don't go taking your anger out on someone and beating them up" jim replied

"Don't tell me what to do"

"See ya Kit-kat" then he hung up, he saw it was 6 o'clock, he gasped before quickly getting up and getting ready for school by making lunches for him, his mother and his best friend, toby
Then he got on his bike as the garage door opened as beautiful sunlight was entering the garage

But he saw his trash can was tipped over as garbage was out
"Ugh raccoons!" He groaned as he picked it up

"We're late for school, jimbo" toby ,his best friend, informed as he was putting on his helmet
"I know tobes, kate called me, I was busy with the lunches, one for me, one for mom and.." He took out a brown bag and handed it to toby

Toby sniffed it
"Balsamic mushrooms, meatloaf, chunky, sun-dried tomatoes"

"And cardamom" jim finished

"Ooh! Taking a chance there, chef jim"

"What's life without a little adventure?" Jim asked/said

"Honestly that will be normal and normals boring" they heard a sweet but tough voice say
They looked over and saw a very familiar girl with her bike
She had long brown hair with pink streaks and pink eyes (if you read her info, you'll know why she has pink eyes, it's a mystery in her life)

"Hey kate" jim greeted

"What's up? By the way, we're super late and I'm pretty sure we'll get expelled" kate said

"I know, you called me" jim said, kate smirked

Then toby pushed the bag forward
"I can't eat this, I'm on a diet" he said

"You've been on a diet for the last 14 years, tobes" jim stated

"I know"

"You're 15" kate finished as her and jim started riding their bikes

"Long-term goals, my body's still changing" toby tried to reason

"Tobes I'm 16 and I'm already evolved! Yours should be by now!" Kate called as she peddled behind jim but toby was trying to catch up

Kate managed to peddle to right beside jim and they smiled at each other
"I'm right..I'm right..I'm right behind you!" Toby called

"It's 8:00" jim exclaimed

"We're going to get suspended on account of meatloaf!" Toby exclaimed

"Take the canals guys!, It'll save us five minutes" kate called out as she drifted into a small forest
"Not...the...canal!" Toby stammered cause of the bumpy rocks

"Oh live a little!" Jim called as he rode over a little grass hill and landed

"It's living that I'm worried about" toby shot back

"Come on, tobes, don't you want a little more excitement?" Jim asked

"I definitely do! I wanna meet like..aliens! That'll be exciting" kate called

"Aliens aren't real, kate"

"I can dream, jim"

Then they saw the canal and jim jumped off and did a SICK jump then he landed at the bottom
"Come on guys!"

But jim heard a voice
"James...lake"

Finally kate and tobes made it but kate just...went straight down
"YEAH!! WHOO!!!" she cheered as she rode down finally she made it to the bottom but toby...wasn't so lucky
"AHHH!!" he screamed as he went zooming down

Jim got off his bike and saw a pile of rocks
"Whoo!" Kate smiled as she panted out of breath but she saw the rocks as well
"Que?" She got off her bike as well

*time skip in class*
"The Peloponnesian war was actually three wars fought between Athens and Sparta, the first war is known as the Archimidian war, type that into your search engines" mr. Strickler blabbered on as everyone was using computers

but Kate saw Jim staring dreamily at a girl called Claire, she waved her hand in front of his face but he didn't notice
Kate sighed
"Great" she said sacasticly

Claire glanced back at jim
"Close your mouth, you're drooling on the table" kate told him
"No, no I'm not" jim answered

Then she saw toby typing something on his computer
"What are you doing?" Kate asked

"Research" toby answered

"Hey look up 'talking amulet'" Jim told him

"I already did that, all I got was toys. One of them was a plushie." Toby told him
"I tried it but all I got was a song called 'the talking amulet'" kate added

"Jim, would you agree?" Mr, Strickler asked
"Sir?" Jim quickly snapped back to reality
"With Herodotus' opinion on his tactics of war, as I've described"

Jim looked back at toby and kate but they just turned away
"Absolutely"
"Excellent, which tactics, specifically?" Mr. Stickler asked

"The, uh...Winning ones?" Jim said as everyone laughed and then the bell rang at the same time
"All right, all right don't forget, Michaelson, Chapters four and five" stickler called as everyone was gathering their things and getting out of class

Kate walked up to toby
"Jim, may I have a word?" Kate heard Strickler say to jim, kate and toby past then
"See ya jimbo" kate waved as her and toby exited the class

"Ugh! Gym class next" toby groaned as kate giggled
"Tobes, gym class isn't bad" she said as they walked down the hallway as students were filling them up
"Says you! You basically have a master degree in gymnastics and karate" toby commented as kate giggled again soon they went to the locker rooms

*in gym class*

Everyone was in the gymnasium but people just did their own thing, some didn't even do P.e, some were sitting at the bleachers and someones probably playing fortnite under the bleachers

Right now, kate and jim were cheering toby on as he was trying to climb a rope but was struggling
"Hang on, almost there" toby strained
"Come on Tobes! You've got this" jim cheered
"Yeah let's go!" Kate cheered

But toby was barely off the mat, toby tried to climb but ended up falling back and getting his leg tangled with the rope
"What is that on my rope?" Coach Lawrence spat as he popped up out of nowhere
Toby yelped
"Every student here should be able to climb this rope and ring that bell, I want all of you to be made of iron, Iron!" Coach continued to ramble

"Hey coach, how about you demonstrate for us on how to climb the rope?" Kate smirked

"Wha-well, uh ckdj, because I don't wanna!" Coach exclaimed

Kate smirked again but at the corner of her eye, she saw Jim looking at the bleachers
"Hmm?" Kate turned her head to jim and soon saw what he looking at, he was looking at Claire with Darci and Shannon who were watching a video

Kate saw jim shyly walking over to them but she shrug at it

"Yo dude check this out"

Kate perked up when she heard that voice, she quickly whipped her head around to see this handsome boy, Darrel balancing a basketball on his finger while his pals watched him

Kate fully turned her body around and was breathless, she put her hands together in a shy way, she had a crush on Darrel for the longest time so she thought she should finally stop being a Wuss and say something to him

Kate breathed in then out as she began walking towards the group as she felt herself sweating
One of Darrel's pals looked up and saw kate coming
"Yo weirdo ahead" he whispered to the gang as they saw kate as well

Finally kate reached them
"Um..hehe Buenos Días" she nervously said and did a little wave

"Huh the weirdo speaks Spanish" one of the pals said soon the rest started laughing but Darrel didn't, kate looked hurt as she felt embarrassed
"Shut it!" Darrel put his hand up and instantly his pals stopped laughing
Darrel stood up with the basketball between his arms

"Kate right?" Kate nodded
"Heard about you, people are saying how you're a totally weirdo" darrel commented
"Great" kate thought sacasticly
"They may say that but I can still kick their as--" kate was cut off

"So kate, i--" darrel was cut off as well by coach
"Mitchell!! Get over here!" Coach exclaimed
"Coming coach!" Darrel said back as he looked back at kate
"See ya around kate" darrel smirked at her before walking away as his pals followed like Darrel's a god
"A-adios" kate managed to get out

*in the locker room*

After P.E, kate was in the locker room as she put her cardigan on and her necklace on, she held the necklace in her hand and stared at it for a while soon she sighed, this necklace was very important to her since it was a gift from her parents, kate has no idea what happened to her parents, she doesn't even know who they are

Kate just wished that she can even have a look at her parents but they're gone and kate doesn't even know them, she wished she had a mama so they can always be together and she wished she had a papa so they can always be together as well
Kate sighed sadly before putting her P.E clothes in her bag and exiting the locker room

*outside*

Outside was a sunny day as kate, jim and toby were walking outside with their bikes since it was after school
"So good news, guys, my orthodontist says I'm almost done with my braces, only four more years" tobes stated as kate and jim listened
"Man, I remember when I had braces, wasn't a good adventure" kate said

Suddenly jim saw that a bully called Steve Palchuk was stuffing an adorable geek called Eli pepperjack into a locker and laughing at him as his two bully buddies did the same

"Okay, nothing to see here" toby commented as he was trying to just pass them without confrontation
"We can't just let him do that" jim said as kate nodded
"Oh yes we can" toby shot back
"No! We can't!" Kate exclaimed at him

But while toby was rambling about psycho steve, kate and jim went over to the Palchuk
"Tell me again, dweeb-face, tell me about the creatures and maybe I'll let you out" steve snarled as he banged his fist on the locker eli was in

"Or you can let him out right now, I mean, you know, it would be nice" jim said

"Palchuk let him out, you crazy son of a--" kate was cut off

"Nice would be you two minding your own business" steve growled and pointed at kate and jim

"Oh hi kate! Hi jim!" Eli said from inside the locker but steve again banged his fist on it

"You were telling me about the monsters, you saw this morning with fangs and... What was it again?" Steve asked
"Stone for skin! In the canal!" Eli said

"Stone for skin? What?" Kate thought

"Stone for skin? Man, Eli, you've got some imagination" Steve laughed

That's when jim moved his bike out of the way as kate did the same
"Look Steve, seriously just let him out" jim said, a little louder this time
That's when steve went up to jim and lifted him up by his bag strap and steve lifted his fist to his face
"Or you'll do what?" He snarled
"Okay do it, punch me" jim said

By now, there was a crowd full of students surrounding them
"You...you're asking for a beating?" Steve chuckled
"Yeah, just go crazy" jim said
"Jim you're they one whose crazy!" Kate told him as she was being held back by toby

"In 20 years, you're gonna be fat and bald and you'll be working in a muffler shop and Eli will have a career and software and he'll be a billionaire" jim said to steve

That's when toby started chanting while still holding kate back
"Let him out let him out let him out!" Toby chanted soon everyone in the crowd was chanting it, some were even screeching it
"Let him out! Let him out! Let him out!"

Then coach came bursting through
"Palchuk, what's going on here?" Coach demanded as steve dropped jim
"Uh, nothing sir" steve said, innocently
"Why aren't you at practice?"
"I was helping Eli, here" Steve opened the locker to see eli was really stuffed in there
"Hey guys!"

"On the double now!" Coach yelled as steve violently shut the locker and glared at jim, he said something to jim before walking away

*After*

After school, kate ride up to her house as she opened the garage and placed her bike inside, she strapped off her helmet before sitting it on a table soon she walked through the door that was connecting the garage and the house

Kate walked into the kitchen to see her brother Travis there
"Hey sis" he greeted as kate sat at the kitchen table
"Hey" kate greeted back "where's Crystal?" She asked
"Out. With friends" Travis answered, kate nodded

Kate took out her phone
"I need to call jimbo" she said as she typed in his number and pressed the phone to his ear
"Why?" Travis asked
"Because this morning, under the canals. In a pile of rocks. Me, jim and toby found a old blue amulet and I'm gonna ask jim if anything's happened yet" kate explained as she walked to the living room

Soon jim answered
"Hey Kit-kat" he said

"Yo jimbo, did the amulet do anything yet?" Kate asked

"Nope, not yet, it just seems like a normal amulet" jim said

"Are you sure it's not just some kids toy that they lost?" Kate asked

She could feel Jim shaking his head
"No Kit-kat, I gotta go, see ya" then jim hung up

Kate put her phone into her cardigan pocket then yawned
"Think I'm gonna get to bed early tonight, don't know why, just tired, see ya big bro" kate said as she walked up the stairs and up a small flight of stairs until she's reached her room which was supposed to be the attic but kate changed it into her room

Kate opened her door and went in, she yawned again before literally plotting onto the bed, can't even be bothered to change into her Pjs as she already fell asleep...
