02/2018~03/2018 Journal
The time from February to March has been rather eventful for me, ahaha. Here's an obligatory journal post and photo dump that you're welcome to skip over, I just wanna write this down somewhere as I've been inactive with updating my other works lately;;
Over the span of 30 days, I somehow managed to pull four 5-star servants in Fate/Grand Order.
wHY IS MY LUCK SO GOOD ALL OF A SUDDEN
I'M ACTUALLY SHOOK.
It wasn't until 2-3 months into the game when I pulled my first 5*, Cleopatra, so 4 in a month almost seems surreal. But regardless, bless RNGesus oml.
//plus, I got to NP2 my first 5* servant by pulling another Cleo, which I'm really happy about because I tried to roll for her last Halloween, but to no avail aha;;
Canada is pretty well-known for abundances of snow, right? It doesn't really snow much where I live, though there were a few days of noticeable snow last month. Aaah, to the people who do have to deal with constant snow, how do you guys manage to walk around outside? LOL. It's actually so annoying trudging everywhere, icri.
I tried to be aesthetic with the trees, how do people take perfect photographs aaaa.
On another note, there were these students that came from Japan, and I got to volunteer and help out with showing them around my city. The ratio between Canadian students that volunteered to Japanese students was like... 1:4, so each of us got mini cohorts of 4 Japanese students each.
I was anxious-- they were honestly the most well-mannered students I've ever met. Since I started taking introductory Japanese this year, I got to practice speaking despite my limited skill, and it was nerve-wracking, but really fun!
I'm not even kidding when I say that they're super polite, it's so heartwarming and fascinating because this kind of respect isn't as prominent in American culture, in my opinion. I was expecting a few "delinquent" type students here and there from common anime tropes, but each and every one of them were so positively enthusiastic and energetic.
Like, when a car halted at an intersection to let us cross, the students all politely bowed before actually crossing the street. I found it really cute and admirable, because I've never seen it happen over here, when it's probably common there.
They were all so precious, I had a great time. T v T
I'd love to visit them someday, but I'm pretty sure the students in my group were all in their senior year, and would graduate soon because they're all 17.
There's supposed to be a small Japan trip to visit their highschool next year, as we're sister-schools, and I was really looking forward to that, too.
Except I'm moving schools next year, which is a new change, since I've always stuck to the same school with the exception of transitioning from elementary to highschool.
Though, I've pretty much brought this upon myself because I got in and accepted the offer into the IB diploma program for my grade 11 and 12 year, which is bittersweet in a way because I'd be leaving some good friends, some of which I've known since kindergarten and early-elementary age, and I'd be missing out on a fun trip to Japan, in exchange for... throwing away my social life and more school work? LOL.
Maybe it's kinda weird that I like schoolwork to a certain extent, but that'll probably change by next year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My friends got me some cute stationery for my birthday last month. I'm like... a bread fanatic, so bread-themed notebooks as a gift was a huge bonus. I bought a bread plush earlier this week too, because who doesn't lOVE TOAST--
Since it's spring break for me, I've been trying to watch the live action for Kakegurui. It's probably the first drama I've watched, so while I can't compare it to other shows, I'd say it's pretty good. But then again, there are probably a ton of fantastic shows out there, and I'm just an uneducated swine. :^)
//casually looks at all my friends and their k-dramas;;
I can't relate (yet). orz"
Yumeko's expressions give me life.
PLEASE TELL ME THAT SOMEBODY ELSE HERE IS WATCHING VIOLET EVERGARDEN.
Violet is such a precious girl, each episode has more or less made me tear up, though I ended up legitimately crying during last week's episode 10.
I'm eagerly waiting for more of her character development, and how the anime will end in a few weeks' time.
I still have so many shows to catch up on, spring break isn't enough for this. ><
Anyways, I'll end this long-winded entry here. If I could pump out this many words as efficiently as I did for this journal post for my fanfictions, I'd be pretty darn happy.
Hope you guys are doing well, and if you actually got to the end, kudos to you-- you have my gratitude! c:
