Pilot, part 01

Tamtam is a somewhat clumsy Buri.

Sometimes she trips over her paws when she is sitting.

Sometimes she trips over her words when she is speaking.

Sometimes she will bump her head on accident while she is walking, because she likes to look behind her at the pawprints she leaves.

When she was a little Eevee she would snuggle on her parents legs while they were walking, and they would share in her tripping because of it.

Originally she was to be named Madi, but after all of her clumsiness was revealed, her parents decided to instead call her Tamtam, which means "Little Oops."

Everyone adores Tamtam, because she is a very friendly and lovely individual, even humans are fond of her. But everyone is also scared that she will be hurt from her klutziness.

Trix is a somewhat strict Banban.

Most Banban are born in litters of three or five, and so the achievement of a rank of Trix, being three, is not usually particularly impressive.

However, Trix is born in a litter of twenty three. She has tried harder than most to get to her rank among her siblings. But it is her inflexibility which has withheld her from the rank of Eine among her siblings. She might even lash out at you if you call her "Trixie" like many other Trix Banban tend to do.

Her parents are very proud of her, but her stiffness makes her hard to approach and unwilling to reach out, and she does not really have any friends.

What do you think?

--

Tamtam sat by herself in the Disciplinarian's house, staring at her paws. She had quite thoroughly bolloxed up things this time.

She looked up at the structure of the house, the building like a cylinder, as per a usual home, but much larger, so as to allow audiences at more public affairs that would happen here. The size of the building made her feel very small, which made her feel worse.

The room darkened slightly, as the Disciplinarian's body filled the doorway on his entrance. Tamtam's back fur rose, and she shook with fear. The previous Disciplinarian had given her embarrassing punishments when her clumsiness had gotten out of hand, but this Disciplinarian was newly elected, untested, and Tamtam could only anticipate the worst. This time, her errors were much more severe, and might have hurt someone. She wanted to make a good impression, and so she prostrated herself on the floor in front of him.

"I'm sorry! I'm very very very sorry! It was an accident, I, the, the cones, I didn't see, they are so hard to find you kno-"

"Stop. Sit up."

Tamtam held her tongue, whimpering softly as she got back to a normal sitting position. The Disciplinarian looked at her carefully, and rested his paw on her shoulder.

"Please don't start with excuses Tamtam. That area was clearly marked as an area of construction, and the knowledge that that house was being worked on was common enough that you should have known to be more careful around there."

Tamtam's eyes watered, and she stared at the floor, trembling. This Disciplinarian would be like the last one, and all those before whose patience she had tried and worn thin.

"It is undeniable that the issue is your fault. However, we can rectify it with non-punitive measures."

"This is what the last Disciplinarian told to me, before she also made me wear a caution cone on my head... for a month..."

The Disciplinarian held her cheeks, looking into her eyes with his own, making sure to be kind for her. "There is a difference between saying something and intending to follow it through. And I intend to follow it through. So I have a plan."

Tamtam blinked, and angled her ears so as to catch every word certainly.

"So, today, you will go and visit Nil and do as she says. Do not be afraid," the Disciplinarian said, seeing her eyes widen. "You will be okay. Please trust me that you will be okay."

"V-very well, it is good," Tamtam replied quietly, although how good it would be she was not so sure.

--

Nil looked through her documents carefully, looking for one of her Banbans in particular, finding her whereabouts. Her organization was so poor that the Buri in question was already in her office before the document was found.

"Trix Warner-Imehara, reporting back to the barrack!"

Nil looked up from her file cabinet, and nodded. "Understood. Please sit beside the desk."

Trix nodded once, and sat beside the desk. This was particularly unusual, because after finishing a patrol, Nil usually allowed her to go back to her barrack. It was also unfortunately timed, for she had had big plans for while her room mate was out and deployed to elsewhere, but the duty was always to come first.

It was a short while later that a small Buri practically crawled in, her ears trembling, looking up at Nil nervously. Trix could not understand the Buri's fear, for Banban were great and big protectors, and Nil, being the largest of all of them, ought to make them feel the safest of any Banban. But alas.

"You are Tamtam Warner-Basel, yes? Yes, I recognize you," Nil said. The Buri's ears pulled back, and her cheeks flushed brightly with embarrassment, nodding silently. The name immediately revealed to Trix the reason behind the smaller creature's fear, and Trix blinked, the only sign of her unhappiness, realizing her purpose for being held back. Most likely she had been held here to deliver some sort of punishment for Tamtam's accidental destruction of a house.

Nil turned to Trix. "You recognize Tamtam, no?" Trix nodded with affirmation, and Tamtam whimpered softly.

"I-I-I'm sorry," the smaller Buri practically whispered. "I didn't mean to do it..."

Trix studied Tamtam carefully. The punishment she would have to deliver would most likely not be a physical one; Tamtam's error had not caused any lasting injuries or death, and sending such a small creature to the Banban for a beating would most likely result in a fatality.

Trix blinked again, pushing aside her thoughts. Most likely she would be taking Tamtam on an extensive patrol through the land, which could take days due to the smaller Buri's likely lack of endurance. Not terrible, but she would most likely miss out on her time to herself at home.

Nil smiled kindly at Tamtam. "We know that. And the solution to your clumsiness happening again, will be for you to follow Trix here, and learn from her, and eventually you will no longer be clumsy."

"Nil, how long will this... operation... last?" Trix asked cautiously. Nil shrugged.

"It will last until her clumsiness is gone."

Trix took a deep, quiet breath, puffing up her chest, barely preventing herself from flaring her nostrils in anger. She would never be rid of this Tamtam if that was the case...

--

Tamtam kept herself curled up in the middle of the room, the Banban staring at her intensely. Banban already seemed like they ate trees for breakfast and bones for dinner, and this particular Trix seemed like she ate clumsy Buri who she was assigned to teach.

The enormous creature had said nothing to Tamtam all the way to her room, and she said nothing now. Tamtam trembled with fear, wondering just what sort of unpleasantness was in mind of her teacher.

"S-s-so your n-name is T-Trix...?" she tried.

"Trix Warner-Imehara."

Tamtam tried a smile, keeping herself as small as possible. "C-can I call you-"

Trix was immediately in Tamtam's face, a vicious snarl escaping her lips as she looked down at the student.

"You will call me Trix, and that is all you will call me. Do you understand, Tamtam?"

Tamtam's eyes were wide with terror, and her body frozen. After a moment, a sharp scent filled the air, and Tamtam blushed deeply. Trix shut her eyes tightly.

"Tell me you did not just piss on my floor."

"I-I-I'm sorry..."

Trix growled with frustration. Now she would be stuck, forever, with a little klutz who became incontinent every time she was scolded. She opened her mouth to tell the student off...

...before the two of them found themselves very much not in the barracks anymore.

Trix raised her head, looking around at the environment. There was tall bushes and grass everywhere, and the air was particularly warmer than it had been. Tamtam's eyes widened, and she looked around rapidly, before passing out from overstimulation.

Trix huffed, and held Tamtam's limp body close to her, fetching some bundles of grass and using to tie the Buri around to her belly. The Banban looked up, studying the night sky carefully. Judging by where the stars were, they were very much closer to the Equator than they had been. And with the kind of plant matter present, most likely that was Sub-Saharan Africa.

Trix dimmed her rings, looking around, hearing voices around her. A sniff informed her that there were maybe five humans, all around the two of them. The Banban stood, growling softly, and the humans came into view, toting guns, knives, other such puny weapons.

At least whatever this new place they had suddenly been transported into was, they were getting a simple and easy introduction to it.

--

Tamtam awoke after awhile, blinking slowly awake. She felt herself gently bouncing, and enjoyed the feeling. It was dark, so she couldn't quite tell where she was, but she could tell that something wrapped around her middle was holding her up against something soft and fluffy. She looked up, and realized that it was Trix's belly which she was strapped under.

"Oi...?"

Trix looked down at her, disdain on her face. "How fortunate for you? If not for me you would have been a rug or some piece of upholstery by now, and those bandits would not have had to do a thing." Tamtam whimpered softly.

"I-I'm sorry..."

"You do say that a lot, huh? Hmf. Here." Trix paused, sitting up on her haunches, and reaching into a satchel, pulling out a small slice of meat, giving it to the smaller Buri. "Eat, and have strength."

Tamtam's ears perked up, and she happily began to nibble the meat, finishing it. Her tail wagged quickly.

"Oh! Its very good, is this a pig?"

"Sure, you could say that. The bandit I sliced it off of did seem like a particularly piggish fellow."

Tamtam's eyes widened, and she woofed. "D-did you give me-"

Trix gently squooshed Tamtam's cheeks between her paws. "Don't worry about what it was. And don't puke!" she admonished, seeing Tamtam tremble and somewhat heave, as if she were making ready to vomit. "Food will be limited while we are out here. And until we can find some friendly sort of civilization, we will most likely be living on bandits and terrorists. So, if you do not want to eat any more of that, they best you can do, is stay there quietly and not wiggle."

Tamtam woofed softly, and nodded slowly. "I-I can walk if that is easier-"

"No! No, you are quite alright where you are there, don't worry. I don't want you to trip and hurt yourself." Tamtam blushed, hiding her face. She probably would have done just that, what with the thick brush they were traveling through. And so, she relaxed beneath the Banban's belly, and, unbeknownst to each other, they each enjoyed it that way.
