Trishalini POV

Rudraja's birthday went well. But, on that occasion, we learned that Agastya was getting married.

Maasa and Daadisa asked Abhi and me to host the wedding. His wife, Sumanika, was Queen Nandani's close friend. And I could not say no.

The next few weeks were eventful. I came close to Queen Nandani and her family. Ranvijay and Agastya have beautiful and intelligent wives.

I was busy the whole time, so Abhi and I did not get a chance to discuss anything. The wedding also brought Rudra Bhaisa and Abhi close.

No one knew what happened that day.

My father also attended the wedding. He was invited, but I told him he behaved as if nothing had happened.

Days kept passing, and Abhi's hatred for me only grew.

Once in two or three weeks, he would ask, and finding me silent, he would only curse.

He was right in his place. But I had reasons not to reveal it—just not yet.

The kids grew bigger, and so did the distance between us.

Abhi had stopped sleeping in my chamber since Agastya's wedding. He had stopped coming to me altogether.

And, as the babies grew, they slept with their father five days a week.

I was left with nothing but the title of Queen.

And, to keep myself sane, I indulged myself more in the work.

The kids turned five a week ago. They only grew bigger. One day, as I was getting ready to begin my day, they brought their father in.

"What are you two doing?" he asked with laughter, and I lowered my gaze, slipping the toe rings in my toes.

"Chaliye na, baapusa,"

"Come na, Baapusa," I heard them say, and they brought him.

I immediately planted a smile on my face.

"What are you two doing?" he asked again, and I stood up from the chair.

"Harsh, Yash, what are you doing?" I asked, and Maharaj sat down to look into their eyes.

"What happened? Why do you bring me here?" he asked, and they both giggled, stepping closer to him.

"Our friend Prakhar said that his father loves his mother the most. So, we Yash Bhaisa told him that our father loves our mother the most, that is right?" Harsh asked, and Maharaj knit his brows while I took the steps closer to them.

"Why are you two asking such stupid questions? Come on, go out and play. Maharaj is busy," I said, and they both did not listen to me.

"Tell us, Baapusa, you love Maasa the most," Yash said, and he chuckled.

"What are two saying?" he stood up. "Come on, get back to your lessons. Why do you guys talk about all these?" he asked and pulled them out.

But Harsh looked at me, and his smile vanished.

"Harsh, come on, Beta, it's okay. You do not have to be the best in everything," I tried to say. Yash pulled his hand out of his, and they both immediately ran out and closed the door. They locked it.

"Harsh, Yash," I raised my voice, immediately stepping towards the door and knocking.

"Open the door. What are you two doing? Enough of your tricks and pranks. Open the door," I raised my voice, and he said, "Harsh, Yash, open the door. I will punish you both for this. I am getting late,"

They just laughed from behind.

"No, we are not going to open it. We am going to bring all my friends here," Yash said, and they both ran away.

I palmed my face and looked away to find a window.

"Meenakshi," I called out.

"Meenakshi? Is anybody there?" I tried to raise my voice, but nobody listened.

"What are you teaching them?" he asked suddenly, and I looked at him.

"Hn?" I asked. He stepped closer to me.

"What the hell are you teaching them?" he asked again, and I shook my head.

"I did not say anything. I do not know from where they learned this," I tried to say, and he gritted his teeth in anger.

"Love? Seriously? Do you think I can love you?" he said, and I looked away to knock on the door.

This was not the first time I heard this.

"Harsh, Yash, Beta, open the door, please," I tried to say, but suddenly, he grabbed my hand and made me look at him.

"Tell me his name, Trisha; when does your right time come?" he asked, and I gulped, lowering my gaze.

"I will tell you," I tried to say, and he pressed his fingers tightly on my arm and pulled me closer.

"Hamare jeevan ki sabse badi galti aap hai,"

"You are the biggest mistake of my life," he said, and I immediately looked into his eyes.

"Itni Rajkumariya humse vivah karne ko taiyaar thii lekin hamari mat maari gayi this jo hume aap pasand aayi. Ek patni hone ka ek bhi gun nahi hai aap me,"

"So many princesses were ready to marry me, but I must have lost my mind to choose you. You do not have a single quality of a good wife," he said, and I lowered my gaze, battling my tears.

Suddenly, the noise of kids' made him pull his hand back.

"Baapusa, all my friends are here. Tell them our father loves our mother the most," Yash said, and I closed my eyes momentarily.

"Harsh, Yash, I am getting late for the court. If you do not open the door immediately, I will punish you. I am not joking. Stop with all this," he said, knocking on the door.

"What are you all doing here?" Suddenly, Meenakshi's voice caught my attention, and I said.

"Meenakshi, can you please open the door?" I asked. Within a few moments, the door opened, and I looked at both of them.

"Yash, Harsh, do not do this ever again. Your father is a Samrat," I said and kneeled to reach their height.

"And, as a Samrat, The Kingdom is the first and only true love. You get it?" I asked, and they both looked at their angry father for a moment and nodded.

"Ji, Maasa,"

"Ji,"

They both agreed and I said.

"Come on, apologize to him," I asked, and they both looked at him.

"We are sorry," they said, and he smiled.

"Prakhar, Our father cannot love our mother. Because he is a Samrat," Harsh said, and they all ran outside to continue their discussion.

"I am sorry for the trouble," I muttered and walked away.

He went out, too.

I spent the rest of the day as usual. I attended a few meetings, met Maasa and Daadisa, and strolled alone in the garden in the late evening.

The stars looked beautiful, as usual.

And suddenly, I noticed him walking out with the kids, too.

I immediately turned back to go in my chamber.

Coming inside, I read a little before falling asleep.

And it was the middle of the night when Meenakshi woke me up.

"Maharani,"

I opened my sleepy eyes.

"There is a letter for you," she said, and I sat up to receive the letter.

She brought me a burning candle, and I knit my brows with confusion.

What could it be?

I opened the letter and read it.

It was from Ashram, and the moment I got to know that my father had passed out, I looked up and stepped down the bed.

I only waited for this.

Grabbing my dupatta, I walked out of my chamber to his.

The soldiers looked surprised.

And I asked them not to announce it.

When I entered his chamber and reached the bedroom, I found him sleeping with the babies.

Stepping closer, I parted the curtains and called him out.

"Maharaj,"

"Maharaj," I repeated, and he opened his sleepy eyes and looked at me.

His brows knit with confusion, and I stepped away from the bed, waiting for him to come here.

"What happened?" he asked, and I handed him the letter.

He sat on the couch to read it and looked up at me.

"We should go there now," he said, and I shook my head.

"No," I muttered, and he stood up.

"Why? He is your father, and he is dead. You do not even look bothered?" he asked, stepping closer to touch my arm, and I immediately stepped back.

"He is the one," I said, and he knit his brows.

"What?" he seemed confused.

"He is the one behind the attack on me," I said, and his eyes widened.

"Are you out of your mind? He is your father, a sage, and my teacher. He could not do it," he said, raising his voice slightly.

"But he did," I said, and he stepped closer.

"Trisha?" he muttered and cupped my cheek to make me look at him.

"Singarh," I said, and his eyes widened.

"Kill them all," I declared, and he blinked silently.

"Why did you not tell me before?" he asked, and I gulped. My throat was running dry.

"As you said, he was not just my father but a sage and a teacher," I said, and he gritted his teeth.

"I wanted to kill him. How could he?" he whispered, and I looked into his eyes.

"Ek Guru ki hatya keval Ran bhoomi me ho sakti hai, or vo bhi tab jab vo doosre paksh me ho. Ek Samrat ko Guru Hatya ka adhikar nahi. Guru Hatya sabse bada Paap hai. Agar hum aapko bata dete, to aap unhe maar dete. Or sabhi Rajya aapke Virudh ho jaate hai. Unhone jo kiya usse koi nahi maanta. Bhala kon pita apni hi Putri ko darane ke liye ek doosre Rajya jaega, unse kahega ki hume apna sabse khookhar sipahi do, taaki vo meri putri ko dara sake, Or me uske pati ko neend ki dawa khila kar ye sabit karunga, vo kisi kaabil nahi. Koi bhi is baat par kabhi Vishwas nahi karta. Or jo rajya badi mushkil se ek sutra me bandhe the vo sab aapke khilaf ho jaate. Or Aapko Samrat ke padh se hata diya jae vo bhi ek bewakoofi ke kaaran, ye hume Sehn nahi tha,"

"The killing of a Guru can only happen on the battlefield, and even then, only if he is on the opposing side. A king does not have the right to kill a Guru. Killing a Guru is the greatest sin. If I had told you, you would have killed him, and all the kingdoms would have turned against you. No one would believe what he did. What father would go to another kingdom to scare his daughter, ask them for their fiercest soldier to intimidate her, and then drug her husband to prove that he is unworthy? No one would ever believe that. And the barely united kingdoms would have all turned against you. You would have been removed from the throne for foolishness, and I could not bear that," I said, his eyes filled with anger.

"Parantu, Singarh ne apradh kiya hai. Der raat apne Sipahi ko bhejkar ek rajya ki Maharani ke maan ko haani pohuchane ki cheshta kari. Taaki Us Rajya ko yudh se nahi kapat se hara sake,"

"However, Singarh has committed a crime. Late at night, they sent their soldier to harm the honor of a kingdom's queen in an attempt to defeat that kingdom not through war but through deceit," I added, and he looked into my eyes.

"I do not care if he is Guru or not. How could he?" his anger raged, and I placed my hand on his chest.

"Hum bass hamare liye Guru Hatya nahi karwana chahte the. Hamare karan aapka Singhasan aapse chin jae, Aapke purvajo ne ye to Samrajya banaya, apne lahu or paseene se seecha, use hum hamare karan daav par nahi laga sakte the. Or hum jaante hai, ki agar hum bata dete, to aap unhe maarne se pehle pal bhar bhi nahi sochte. Jo pati hamare hi maan ke liye hamse nafrat kar sakta hai, vo kuch bhi kar sakta hai,"

"I just didn't want you to commit the sin of killing a Guru for my sake. I couldn't let your throne be taken away because of me. Your ancestors built this empire and nurtured it with their blood and sweat, and I couldn't put it at risk because of my own reasons. And I know that if I had told you, you wouldn't have thought for a moment before killing him. The husband who can hate me for the sake of my honor is capable of anything," I tried to say, and he immediately cupped my neck.

"You hid it from me. I would have slit his throat into two. How could he think something like that?" his eyes were filled with enrage, and I looked into his eyes.

"Hume Singarh chahiye, Unke Raja ne kaha tha ki Samrat or Mahabaleshgarh ka maan hum hai, or vo hume kuchal kar usse kuchalna chahte the. Hum jaante hai na hum achi patni the, hai, na kabhi ban sakte, isliye hamare liye aapko shristi ka sabse bada paap karne ki awashyakta nahi thii, or na hi Sab kuch daav par lagane ki,"

"I want Singarh. Their king said that I was the pride of the emperor and Mahabaleshgarh, and by crushing me, he wanted to crush that pride. I know I was never a good wife, nor am I one now, nor can I ever be. That's why there was no need for you to commit the greatest sin in the world for my sake nor to risk everything," I said, and he pulled me closer.

"How could you hide it from me? I wanted to kill him with my own hands. How could he think of planning it?" he murmured on my face, and I lowered my gaze, "And, Singarh, he will pay for its dues today," he added and left me there.

I immediately caressed my neck.

"Maasa," suddenly, Harsh's voice caught my attention, and I smiled.

"Yes, baby," I asked and walked to him.

"Where is Baapusa?" he asked, and I lay beside them.

"He left to finish some long-due work," I said and began to gently pat his chest.

My heart was light today. So that I could not even explain.

I hated my father, too.

At one point in time, I wanted to poison him and kill him. But then I looked at the babies and realized that I could see them because he had saved me once. And, by killing him, I did not want to abuse humanity.

I did not know how he would pay for his sin.

But I could let Abhi commit the prime sin. The world would have gone against him, and I did not want his name to be a bad king in history.

If he were just only my father, I would have let Abhi slit his throat as many times as he wanted.

But he was not.

I was his adopted daughter, but he was Abhi's real Guru.

His intention was not to hurt anyone. But Abhi would never have understood this. Even if I had asked, he would not have stopped.

Leaving me with no option but to keep it to myself until this day.

Suddenly, the door of the chamber and both the kids woke up.

I sat up to see him walking in with a sword, and I felt a knot in my stomach.

I stood up from the bed as he came closer, and suddenly, he cupped my cheek and pressed his lips against mine.

My whole body froze for a few moments before he pulled back.

I stood timid.

"Harsh, Yash, apne dosto se kehna aapke Baapusa aapki Maasa se hi sabse jyada prem karte hai,"

"Harsh, Yash, tell your friends that your father loves your mother the most," he said, and they both giggled.

"See, I told you," I heard them whisper, and he looked back at me before muttering in a low voice.

"You are so dead,"

I felt goosebumps in my whole body.

"Boys, take care of everyone until I come back," he said before he left.
