Abhinandan POV

Heaven?

Nobody knows what happens after the life. What is hell or heaven? Is there a burning fire pit in real in which we all would be kept and ruined to ashes again and again only to feel the pain for our bad deeds?

Or is there a heaven in real in which we would find beautiful women around, all sorts of amenities and facilities with happiness for our good deeds?

Nobody knows.

Nobody went there and came back to tell.

Well, what I feel is that heaven or hell is something very personal to someone. A person can be full of amenities and facilities yet short on happiness. He is not in heaven.

This was something I had experienced. My life was no less than a heaven. Just one order and I would have people running after me. But, it never contended me. All my life, I believed that there could be something more, something more fulfilling that would not make me feel blank or empty while waking up in the morning. All my life, I wondered what happiness would feel like. What was there beyond all this luxury and power? There must be something.

This all could not be everything people would happiness.

And, now, I might have a clearer image of happiness. She laughed over something and just by seeing her laugh, my lips curved into a wide smile. It was contagious. Her smile was also contagious, but not many were the lucky ones who had gotten to see her smile. To make her smile.

She threw a handful of grain in the garden and pigeons collected over there. She stepped back with slight fear as two jumped over her feet. I laughed seeing her and she looked up at me with the brightness, I so wholeheartedly missed for many days.

She was glowing.

I could not help but look away, as my intentions were blurred, transparent and unclear to me. She was suddenly seeming a different person. A more attractive one, softer one to touch. I did not know if she changed or if my way of seeing her changed.

But, both ways, our years-old friendship was at stake, if I would start listening to my heart, a flood of emotions would come and scatter everything and I did not know if we would be able to collect those pieces or those scattered pieces would be the rose petals or the broken glasses.

She smiled openly and I noticed the attendees staring at us from the corners, hiding behind the pillars. They needed stories to gossip about us.

"This is amazing," she said, and I gulped nodding lightly.

"It is," I did not know what exactly was amazing. The scenery before me or the scenery before me.

The bright red colour was beautiful on her.

She cocked her brows all of a sudden at me and I shook my head slowly.

"You look beautiful," I muttered and she just laughed. Her lips widened, the beautiful maroon tint looked amazingly natural and attractive.

No matter how much I have tried to taste them, I never felt quenched.

"Trisha," I could not stop myself from muttering and she looked at me. My feet senselessly moved closer to her. I noticed her lowering her gaze timidly.

"Aaj vichaar aaya ki swarg or nark kisne dekhna hai?"

"Today I just thought who have seen the hell or heaven?" I asked and loosely wrapped my arms around her. She inhaled deeply, and noticing her not offended by my touch, I leaned in closer and placed my chin on her shoulder.

"So, what did you figure out?" she asked in a slow voice and threw another fistful of grain in the yard. It was so silent and thundering here. The noise of pigeons, the first light of morning, the coldness after the baths, and the freshness of minds after such a contending sleep were mind-opening.

"Nothing, just figured out two events that can be called heaven or hell in my life," I muttered and she placed her hand on my over her stomach and she asked. "What?"

I closed my eyes for a moment and replayed the moment in my mind when she was walking towards me in Pratapgarh's Castle. Short, tanned, confused, scared yet having a lot of trust in her eyes for me.

"You will not understand," I breathed inhaling her breath and she looked over her shoulder and stared into my eyes.

"Why do you think so?" she asked, and I just stared blankly into her eyes, and shook my head.

"Kabhi aaram se samjhaenge,"

"Will explain sometime with patience," I muttered and suddenly an attendee's voice caught our attention.

"Choti Bahurani Sa," she addressed her and I could not help but tighten my hold around her. She kept her gaze low and I noticed Trisha turn a little nervous.

"Ji," she asked, and she replied.

"Rani-sa and Daadisa have called you to meet someone,"

I gulped and felt Trisha pushing my hands away.

"I am coming," she said, throwing the leftover grains in the yard and stepping away from me. I stood blank there and silently watched her leave after washing her hands in the nearby vessel.

Turning back to look at my pigeons, I wondered if she was comfortable with the physical intimacy.

I mean she did not mind me touching her, hugging her or kissing her. Only a little in the morning with my morning breath. Well, that would be ugly for anyone.

Why, anyone? She was the only one.

I sighed and came back to my chamber to have breakfast. I thought we would have it together but now she was called.

It irked me a little and I immediately clapped twice to call attention.

"Ji, Yuvraj?" she asked, and I asked.

"Can you tell me where is Trisha?"

She nodded and immediately went from there. I waited until she came back and replied. "She is Rani-sa and Daadisa. Three jewellers from the other Kingdoms and five dressmakers have arrived. So, she is shopping,"

I nodded and signalled her to leave.

Well, it was good if she was shopping. She would need a lot of things for the feast. And, I should be seeing Baapusa too.

So, I went out to meet my father and found him having a meeting with a few people.

"We were just waiting for you," he said, inhaling deeply and caressing his chest. I signalled all the people who just stood up for me and walked to his bed.

"How are you feeling?" I asked, and he shook his head.

I gulped silently and sat beside him.

"I think, now, Abhinandan can take over from here," he stated with a heavy breath and difficulty speaking and I helped him lay back. I could not stop myself from caressing his hands and looked over at our commander-in-chief, finance leader, the royal cook, the staff's head, and all the leaders from every department.

"So, how much can we lay off for the three-day feast and celebration from our collections?" I asked, looking at the finance head. Rising from his couch, he stepped forward with a tied hand and said.

"We are not very well stuffed after Princess Nandani's wedding but the King has asked for a minimum of a hundred thousand coins to be spent," he said, and I immediately turned back to look at him.

"That is way too much. No Kingdom has ever spent this much for a celebration and feast," I said, and he smiled weakly.

"It is a great deal to Mahabaleshgarh. We welcome our daughter-in-law, a new bride. It does not happen every day," he said with a smile and I just could not help but feel overwhelmed a little.

"But, still," I tried to say and he shook his head.

"I always wanted a royal wedding for you. But, it did not happen, so at least let me spend my hearty wished amount. This might be my last celebration, Abhinandan," he said in a weak tone and I shook my head.

"You will only after seeing your grandchild," I muttered under my breath and looked back at the minister.

"And, how are we going to spend it?" I asked, looking at everyone.

They stood silent and I inhaled deeply and looked at the Royal cook.

"How much will it need for a five thousand person's feast for three days, three times of meal?" I asked, and he waited for a few moments and then replied.

"Twenty-five to twenty-eight thousand coins, Yuvraj,"

I nodded and looked at the finance head.

"He should be granted the said amount and a person from your department will be working with him to keep track of the budget and finances so that he can focus on the cooking and meals," I said, and I knit my brows.

"Have you got the menu yet or not?" I asked, and he nodded with a smile.

"Ji, Yuvraj. Rani Ma handed it over to me yesterday already," he muttered and I nodded.

"So, the feast is settled then," I muttered and looked at Ashwin, "Now, are we packed with security? Ashwin?" I asked, and he stepped forward and nodded calculatedly.

"We are but the soldiers are rather impatient and need a day break before the hard days," he said, and I nodded.

"Well, if they need a break, then only for the half day will be allowed as the guests will start arriving. Or divide the soldiers in two shifts even on the big days, so that they can rest," I clarified and he stared at me for a moment and nodded.

"I will look into it," I smiled and attended the other departments.

Once, the meeting was done, I went into the treasure room with the keys with the finance head to let him have the pot full of coins.

Only six more pots were remaining now and I wondered if I would bring the new law of leaves then another would be spent only to settle in before the new taxes would settle the change.

But, I wanted the soldiers to have the families' support and I could not thank anyone but Trisha for it.

She brought it for me.

After giving him the coins, I locked it back and handed over the keys to my Maasa. And, when I reached there I found Trisha surrounded with a hefty amount of jewellery collection and clothes. She looked extremely confused and noticing me walk in, she looked up at me.

"Oh, see, Abhinandan is here, we can use his help," I heard Daadisa say and smiled noticing her flushed face.

They all were sitting on the floor with the traders. Plates full of refreshments were kept there and I sat silently on the couch near them.

"She does not even know what are her favourite colours," Daadisa said looking at me and I nodded.

"Well, she would wear any colour you would choose for her. Any colour would be lucky to be wrapped around her," I could not stop myself from saying and noticed her lifting her gaze to me.

"Mmmmmmm!" Daadisa teased me and I looked away.

"What? Where is the lie?" I asked, and she placed her hand on Trisha's shoulder and said.

"Do not fall for it, Trisha. He is only buttering you up to take benefit of you,"

I cocked my brows.

"Benefit of her?" I asked, shocked. "How?" I added.

And, Maasa clicked her tongue.

"Stop you two," she said and shook her head. "Trisha, beta you tell me which pair do you like?" she asked, and I noticed her staring at a multi-coloured heavy pair and I stood up to walk towards and sat beside her.

She looked up at me and I noticed the way everyone looked at me. The traders, the attendees and my mother and grandmother.

"Well, I like this one for her," I said, pointing at that heavy pair and she stared into my eyes.

"What do you think about it?" I asked, looking back at her and she lowered her gaze and nodded.

"It is beautiful," she said, and Maasa clicked her tongue.

"There are twenty-seven pairs and she has called all of them beautiful," she said, and I looked up at her and knit my brows.

"Then, buy all," I said, and Trisha immediately looked up at me.

"No, what? No," she immediately replied shaking her head and I stared into her eyes.

"This is so much costly. I cannot even afford one," she muttered under her breath and I bit my lower lip.

"We will buy all," I said to the traders and they looked at each other.

"Now, the matching jewellery," I said, and I looked at Maasa and Daadisa resting sidewards against the pillows.

I looked at the blue, red and green stones and many heavily designed golden jewellery. Honestly, I knew nothing about fashion and it's sense but everything would look beautiful on her.

"All of these," I said, and suddenly Daadisa opened her fan and started fanning her.

"Abhishree, are we dreaming?" she asked and Maasa hummed.

"We sure are," she muttered and Maasa looked at Daadisa, "Marriage changes everything," she said and Daadisa nodded.

"He was the same person who used to scold Nandani for overspending on things," she said in a low voice and I looked at Trisha sitting silently.

I looked at all the pairs and said. "Separate these two pairs and these two jewellery sets," I said, pointing at one red and one yellow pair. They were as heavy as she would like.

"Why?" Maasa asked.

"For Nandani, I did not give her anything on her wedding," I said in a low voice and noticed Trisha smiling.

"Buy something for Maasa and Daadisa too," she said, and I looked at them.

"We have already bought for us," Daadisa said and Trisha shook her head.

"Ye hamari taraph se hai Maasa, Daadisa,"

"This is from my side, Maasa, Daadisa," she said, and she looked back at me.

"Hum inse hisaab kar lenge,"

"I will settle with him," she said, and I could not help but smile and signalled the trader to give four more pairs.

"One is from my side too, for both of you," I said, and they smiled.

"For the first time in our lives. Something brought by him. Thank you so much, Trisha," Daadisa said, and I asked an attendee to walk to my chamber and bring out the coins I had saved from my allowances.

After paying the traders, I went to lunch with the royal heads to discuss a few more things. The guests began arriving in the evening, and I did not even get the time to meet Trisha even for once. I welcomed the King from the nearby princely states. And, I could not say no to having dinner with them.

And, after dinner, we sat down for the talks. And, since Baapusa could not attend, I had to present at those. A few rounds of game and Hukka lit. I was physically present there, but my mind was stuck on Trisha.

I wondered what she would be doing at this time.

Finally, when it was past midnight, and all of them felt sleepy, I managed to escape and went to her chamber to meet her.

It was dark in there. The lights were off and I silently walked in.

The curtains to her bed were drawn and I slowly took my overcoat off and stepped towards the bed.

I knew I had a separate chamber and bed, but I liked to sleep with her. The way she melts in was slowly becoming my weakness. And, I did not know how would I be able to sleep alone if I had to.

And, the moment I parted the curtains a smile appeared on my lips. She looked tired as she slept in all her jewellery and clothes she did not like.

I sat down silently and looked at her beautiful face glowing under the moonlight falling in through the holes in the windows.

Shifting closer, I laid down beside them and noticed that she was in deep sleep as she did not even take her nose ring off.

I shifted on one side and placed my head's weight on the elbow. My heartbeats slowed down hearing her breath. It was so silent here. And, I just could not stop myself from slowly taking my hands closer to her face and unhooking her nose ring. But, the moment, I pulled the other end from her hair, she opened her sleepy eyes.

They were dizzy and red.

She did not say anything and just stayed silent. Blinking slowly, she just closed her eyes back before turning her eyes and suddenly pressing me down under her and placing her head on my chest. The way her bangles tickled and her anklet bells rang, I felt my heart skipping a beat.

My hand wrapped around her, and I closed my eyes too.

This was heaven.

And, what I had suffered without her would be hell.
