Abhinandan POV
My heart stopped beating. The moment I looked into her eyes, I forgot everything. They were filled with Kohl and looked determined to take the ring off my thumb.
But, suddenly, she stopped trying and looked into my eyes, too. We were close.
She was sitting over me, and her body leaning forward over mine. Her weight did not feel like weight, and her knees beside my waist did not feel like restraints.
For a moment, I forgot everything and just stared into her eyes. I found myself in a delicate position. My heartbeat came back when she lowered her gaze, realising what was happening.
I felt her pulling her fingers back from my palm, and I immediately tried to fist my hand. She breathed audibly and placed her other hand on my chest.
"Ring," she whispered, and I shook my head.
"It's mine," I replied in a slow voice. She inhaled deeply before looking over my head at our joined hands.
"You know, It's not," she muttered slowly, shifting upwards. Due to her short height, she could not reach my hand, let alone open my fist and take the ring out of my thumb.
"It's in my hand," I said in a whisper, and I did not know what the hell I was feeling right now.
It was unexplainable.
The way she was sitting over me was doing something to me. It was making me weak, yet a wave of strength was running into my nerves.
She inhaled deeply before looking away momentarily and then looking back at me. I lost one more ounce of strength and gained an ounce of encouragement to hold the ring firmly.
"The ritual has yet to be finished. And you cheated. The ring does not belong to you. I won the two rounds and need to win the third, too. You are lost, and cannot you lose one more time?" she asked in a low yet slightly frustrated voice, and I stared silently at her face.
"Abhi!" She said and pulled herself a little bit more up, and I could feel her weight on my lower abdomen. It was doing something to me. Wrongly.
And something happened at this moment. The way she had her palm over my chest and sitting over me to keep me still was making me feel hot.
I could feel myself turning hard. I meant my manhood.
Lowering my gaze a little, I inhaled a deep breath. I could not win this way. And, it was making me differently uncomfortable.
So, I used my free hand and tried to sit up. But, I could not even reach the way as her weight over me stopped me.
She did not even move an inch and pushed her hand over my chest. My eyes fell closed for a moment when I felt our cheeks brush against each other's for a moment out of her struggle. I felt her hand trying to reach my wrist. A part of me liked the war between us.
I opened my eyes and twisted my hand behind me to make it even more difficult for her to reach.
She clenched her jaw and wrapped his arm around immediately around me to reach me. Her other hand swiftly glided down my chest to around my waist.
A slight smile appeared on my face. She lost all of her weight on me. Our chests touched each other, and I could not help but notice her neck. It was just an inch away from my lips. Her jasmine fragrance felt likeable on my lips.
"Abhi, you cheated," she said, and I felt her hand struggling to pull the ring out of my thumb.
"And?" I could not stop myself from muttering.
"And, you should not have. I won," she said before pulling the ring of my thumb. I had already lost control of myself and was sitting frozen.
This was the moment when we both realised what was happening. I felt her slowly placing both hands on my shoulder to lift herself a little.
Her gaze met mine, and I felt nervous as hell. But she looked as beautiful as she was, especially her lips.
She found me shamelessly staring at her lips. I saw her breathing unevenly. Her lips were slightly parted, and her cheeks looked flushed.
At this moment, I felt slightly more comfortable with her than our first time. If she asked me to consummate again at this moment, I would have said affirmatively.
But, instead of asking, she gently slapped my cheek to move my gaze away from her lips.
"Pervert," she whispered, and I immediately closed my eyes.
"I am sorry," I breathed and felt her struggling to move off my lap.
Her dupatta stuck under me, and I lowered my gaze to pull it out. But mistakenly, my sight fell on her waist. The sparkling gold waist chain was tied tightly against it, making it look alluring.
My heart raced as the thought of kissing her waist crossed my mind.
And I immediately closed my eyes. What the hell was I even thinking? How could I think of her like that?
"Abhi, help me," she whispered in a low, pleading voice. I immediately looked up into her eyes. "My skirt is stuck under you, too," she muttered in a slow voice, and I could sense she was as uncomfortable as I was.
I nodded, but my mind was not working. My eyes were betraying me to look at her neck, wearing a beautiful gold choker. The emerald hangs to it.
"Abhi," she whispered again. "Hn," I only managed to hum. As she pressed herself mistakenly in my lap a little more, my soul readied to leave my body. A soft, inaudible groan escaped my lips. It was turning difficult for me moment by moment. My gaze blinked rapidly.
"You are not helping," she muttered in a low voice. I could not help but stare into her eyes. The unfamiliar desires seemed to be taking birth in me as her golden Jhumki earring ticked against her cheek. The way her hot breath fanned against my face was something I could not take my mind off right now.
"You are beautiful," my mouth got its brain.
"Hn?" she hummed confusedly, and I felt her taking her face away from mine. My hand immediately moved to be around her waist. It was the most courageous thing I had done in my whole life, even when her eyes warned me with each passing moment.
"You are beautiful," I gulped, saying again, and she lowered her gaze for a moment.
"Even a cow can look beautiful after wearing such heavy, sparkling jewellery and royal blue colour," she replied in a slow voice. My fingers began to quiver as I crawled against the curve of her bare waist. Her dupatta had already slipped down her head, and now it started to slip down her shoulder, too.
Seeing her lips tremble a little, I never felt this strong urge to kiss her. I did not know if this was the result of the fight or the ice that was seeming to break between us. My tongue could not stop itself from speaking my mind. "Then take everything off, and I would still say that you are beautiful,"
"Are you mad?" she immediately asked, lifting her eyes to look into mine. Her tiny struggles came to a halt, and I melted under her. The silence was not out of anger now; it was more like when a river calmed down before meeting the sea.
"I am serious," I managed to say. I did not know what I was saying as I felt insanely nervous at that moment. But I was trying my best not to let it fade away. The fear of losing her once again was building stronger in me. The way she never showed any interest in me was making me weak. Yet, how she was still in my lap filled me with a distinct courage.
"Abhi, stop," she muttered, and I felt her moving her hand from my shoulder to the side of her waist, over my hand.
I shook my head slowly. "I do not want to," I could not stop myself from saying, and suddenly, she pressed her forehead against mine and shook her head.
"Stop," she said, and I immediately closed my eyes and lay on my back. Pulling my hands off her, I palmed my face.
I felt her placing her hands on my chest before sliding down my lap and sitting beside me on her knees.
"Are you okay?" she asked, touching my stomach. I moved my palms off my face. "Yes," I muttered.
"Yuvraj," suddenly, an attendee's voice caught our attention, and she immediately stepped down the bed. I saw her pulling her dupatta beneath me, and I tried to make her work easy by standing up. Walking into the corner, I noticed her draping her dupatta again while I looked at the attendee.
"Your breakfast has arrived," she informed me, and I nodded. Maasa and Daadisa are waiting for you two in the meeting room," she added, and Trisha immediately turned to look at me. Her eyes looked afraid.
"We are coming in a moment," I said to the attendee and walked to her.
"What happened?" I asked and noticed her biting her lower lip out of nervousness.
"I think my Dori opened," she said, and I knit my brows with confusion.
"Dori?" I asked and looked down at her skirt. It was tied perfectly.
"Of my back," she said, and I stared at her confusedly.
"Oh, Oh," I exclaimed, taking a few steps away. "I shall call an attendee," I said, and suddenly, she held my hand and pulled me back.
"Do you want the world to know what was happening here?" she asked, and I shook my head immediately.
"No," I muttered.
I could not deny that she was making me even more nervous now.
Slowly, she turned opposite me and said, "Help me tie it,"
And my eyes widened with slight shock as I saw her pulling her braid to the front. My sight noticed the half-done string of her blouse. My palms began to sweat.
"Um, I should tie these?" I asked, and she nodded.
"Hurry up," she added, and I bit on my lip.
"Oh, yes," I spoke nuisance.
Taking my hands closer to her back, I placed the finger where the knot was loosely tied. As she inhaled a deep breath, I could see her muscles tense visibly through her spine. I gulped nervously.
It was a difficult task. She always gave me difficult things to do.
"Umm, I should open it first before tying back," I managed to say, and she nodded slowly. "Okay," she muttered.
I saw my fingers tremble as I moved my finger through the single knot, and the strings hung apart.
Stepping closer, I held both ends and began to tie the knot. With each passing moment, I felt my heartbeats calm down and my fingers steady up.
I made the first knot and began with the bow. Since the fabric was slightly silky, I tied the bow, too, so it would not open again.
"Done," I said, and she slowly turned around.
"Thank you," she muttered, and I nodded, clearing my throat.
"You have a beautiful back, too," I could not stop myself from saying, and she rolled her eyes a little.
"Sorry, I cannot say the same for you. I have not seen it," she muttered, fixing the dupatta on her head, and I smiled a little.
"Do I look good? Do you think Maasa and Daadisa will suspect that something happened?" she asked. I looked away for a moment and then nodded.
"Yes, they will. Since you have the ring with you now, and they know that it's not easy to take things from me, they would know," I said, and she immediately looked up at me.
"You think?" she asked, and I nodded innocently. There was no lie, though.
The battle was definitely the one that should be recorded in the history.
"I know it," I said, and she immediately held a deep breath and placed the ring back in my hand. "You can keep it. I won. The ring does not need to certify it," she said, quickly walking past me.
A wide smile appeared, and I slid the ring in my thumb. I won.
As I walked out, I found her sitting across Maasa and Daadisa, and when I reached there, they looked at me with a slight smile.
"So, you won?" Daadisa asked, but I did not say anything. I sat beside Trisha.
"No," I muttered after a moment and noticed Trisha serving the food.
"Trisha, I have everything packed for you, dear. I wish well to your father from my side," Maasa said, and I noticed Daadisa picking up the slice of papaya.
"Ji, Maasa," Trisha said, and I noticed her picking up a slice of papaya too.
"Umhnnn, Papita mat khahiye Trisha, din chadenga to dikkat hogi,"
"Umhnnn, do not have Papaya, Trisha. It might cause problems in conceiving," I heard Daadisa say, and the colour in my face faded away along with Trisha's.
Maasa smiled a little, and I noticed Trisha lowering her gaze as Daadisa teased her. "Vaidya Ji gave us the hints when she came to check my knees,"
Even I felt embarrassed for a moment and looked away.
"Kya, Maa Saheb, mat tang kijiye bacho ko,"
"What? Maa Saheb, do not tease the children," I heard Maasa say, and she laughed.
"Have this, Trisha," Maasa said, pushing the plate of soaked nuts and grams.
The rest of the dinner was silent, and once we were done, I went out to review the preparations. Meanwhile, Trisha excused herself to talk to Maasa.
After a few moments, we both went to meet my father to take his blessings before we left. Then she sat in her palanquin, and I climbed over my horse.
Her home was not very far. We reached there at dusk.
I asked the convoy to take the halt two hundred metres away from the Ashram and Guruji's home. He would not like the whole thing at his doorstep.
Stepping towards the palanquin, I ran my fingers in the hair.
"Trisha," I called softly before squatting down to the palanquin's height. She parted the curtains and put her feet out. I noticed the toe rings, and a slight smile appeared on my face.
I extended my hand to her, and she took it before standing up and adjusting her dupatta.
"I feel I am overly dressed," she said, and within a few moments, I noticed the villagers coming out of their homes to see us.
She lowered her gaze, and I could sense her nervousness.
"Come," I said and held her hand. She immediately tightened her fingers around mine. The tickles of her jewellery as we both stepped forward filled me with immense pride.
I did not know why I felt that way.
Covering the last two metres of distance all by ourselves and alone, we reached Guruji's home.
And, at first we were greeted by Agastya.
