cecil was originally a dog person, but is attached to khoshekh and thus appreciates cats a lot more. now, pre-strex kevin is staunchly a cat person, and since he hasnt heard of night vale we can assume this interaction (in his timeline) takes place before the episode wherein cecil gets khoshekh because of the fact that night vale and desert bluffs interact (plus the whole strexcorp thing). thus, the desert bluffs equivalent of khoshekh would actually be a dog if things had gone perfectly. (the crowd bursts into applause. they were actually here for a ted talk ab misogyny and nobody's quite sure how i got up here but they appreciate it anyway)
