CANON LGBT CHARACTERS IN WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE, CAN BE CONFIRMED UP UNTIL EPISODE 137

1.  cecil palmer is gay. he falls in love with carlos (2) in the pilot episode and their relationship is brought up several times in later episodes either as a recurring plot point or just referenced. the two get married in the episode toast. in the episode cal cecil states that he would never have a girlfriend and that nobody in night vale would care about this.

2.  carlos is mlm. in the episode one year later he's shown to return cecil (1)'s feelings for him, as well as go on a date with him in first date. their relationship, as mentioned in cecil (1), is a recurring plot point that is mentioned frequently. they get married in the episode toast, and their relationship is mentioned frequently in the novel it devours.

3. sheriff sam is trans. they are referred to with they/them pronouns for the entirety of time they are 'on screen' for lack of better words.

4. kevin is mlm, or possibly gay depending on whether assume cecil (1)'s sexuality carries over to him, as they seem to have the exact same tastes based on kevin's two crushes being carlos's double (5) and briefly carlos himself (2). as previously mentioned, he is debatably implied to have unrequited feelings for carlos (2) in the episode taking off. in the three-parter the mudstone abyss, he has romantic feelings for charles (5) that parallel cecil (1)'s for carlos (2), and their relationship is a major plot point throughout.

5. charles is mlm. him and kevin (4)'s relationship is a major plot point throughout all three parts of the mudstone abyss, and its implied at the end of part three that they stay together and raise charles's son, donovan, together for at least some time after canon. charles refers to kevin (4) as a partner he thinks will stick around, hence why he introduces him to donovan.

6. michelle nguyen is wlw. she is heavily implied to have romantic feelings for maureen (7) in the episode the april monologues, and the two are shown on dates and referred to as girlfriends in later episodes.

7. maureen is a lesbian. when cecil (1) asks her if she's dating chad, she states that she doesn't even like boys. in a later episode its heavily implied (if not outright stated) that her and michelle (6) are in love, and they are referred to as girlfriends in later episodes.
