On his way up to the Hades House hidden tower he feels that energy again. The energy drawing him to the Lake Of Mist...

Soobin came to an abrupt stop. Staring at the lake in misplaced childlike wonder. This is when Beomgyu had come across him. Soobin was not fully in a trance, but he felt immensely warm. Like he was home. Which is odd. The lake was certainly not a home of any sort. 

Beomgyu moved him a few paces back, emotionally projecting to cause Soobin' mind to somewhat refocus itself. "무엇을 하고 있었어요?" (What were you doing ?) Beomgyu was worried. Beomgyu was very wild & childlike by nature. That much is true. However, focus training is something he practiced alone, since he was only in the first phase. "I...I felt like I needed to be here, Beomgyu ah."

Soobin' answer reflecting what he felt now that he was somewhat focused. He felt like he needed to be with the lake. Beomgyu then proceeded to back Soobin away from the lake. "You can't, hyung. The lake is no friend nor foe of anyone magical." This so far was true to their knowledge as well as belief. Did the Lake Of Mist ever do anything to those who have no magical abilities at all ?

Soobin refused. "아니에요! 틀렸어요! (No ! You're wrong !) ... Then why is it calling out to me ?" Beomgyu emotionally projected once more, but this time accidentally. His anxiety & frustration was then given to Soobin. This is what caused Soobin to break out of his grip. "You must keep focus, hyung. This isn't something to be taken lightly."

Soobin draws his wand, pointing it at his friend. His brother. One of the few who fought beside him when everything else literally logically turned upside down. He wasn't going to duel or attack Beomgyu. This is shown as soon as he lowers his wand. 

This is however where Soobin says something along the lines of what he previously did with Yeonjun. Something to seemingly "protect" himself, & to essentially hurt his quote-on-quote opponent. A mechanism. "Not something to be taken lightly ? You must view me as a complete fool then," Soobin started before he said the rest of his statement. A simple statement that would inevitably put Beomgyu in the same position as Yeonjun in terms of how they deal with Soobin in the meantime. 

"All you have going for you is your family' pureblood status, Beomgyu ah. There is nothing special about that." In a way, Soobin was insisting that there was nothing truly remarkable about Beomgyu. With a wave of his wand Beomgyu responded, "불쌍해요, 형. 당신이 정말 불쌍해요." (I pity you, hyung. I really pity you.)

With those last words, Soobin was out cold.

When Soobin opened his eyes once again, he was in the institute' hospital wing. His eyes adjusted to the light as he came to. Soobin' mind was still somewhat enamored with the Lake Of Mist. There was something seriously wrong. Taehyun sat across from him.

"Finally... Everyone thought you'd be in a coma again..." Soobin sat up slowly when he takes notice to a sleeping Huening Kai on his left. "How long have you both been here ?" Taehyun sighed, "대략 두 시간 정도요." (Roughly around two hours.) Taehyun was nothing like the other three in their circle of friends. He often challenged Soobin' leadership in a playful manner, but this was no time to be mischievous. The things Soobin had recently said & done can't go unchecked. 

"What ? Say whatever you need to, Taehyun ah." Soobin could easily tell there was no way in avoiding this conversation. No way getting one over on Taehyun either. "Everyone has warned you, but you seem only interested in walking to your death..." Taehyun paused. What he said next wasn't easy. What he said next could make a decision for Soobin. A decision he is struggling with. 

"일단 우리에게 대항하면 무기를 내려놓겠습니다. 우리는 당신을 예전 그대로 기억할 것입니다. 당신이 어떤 사람이 되든 상관없어요." (Once you're against us, we will lay down our weapons. We will remember you as you were. Not for whatever you become.) Soobin didn't have a chance to question him before Taehyun took Huening Kai, leaving the hospital wing.
