Advice was soon taken. Soobin may have hated Yeonjun' advice, but he was going to do things his way. His parents... Especially his father... They deserved to suffer. He would make sure they truly suffered.

He met with his mother first. She looked completely distraught ,& eyes puffy from redness. "I am glad you came by, Soobin ah. Hasn't this gone on long enough ?" Soobin smirked. Of course, his mother didn't care about him. All she wanted was her freedom.

"화영 씨, 당신은 정말 대단해요. 당신이 그렇게 뻔뻔스러울 줄은 몰랐어요." (You are something else, Hwa-Young. I didn't think you'd be so shameless.) He called her by her name. Soobin thought his mother didn't deserve such a title. It isn't like she made any lasting impressions on him. Hwa-Young was never truly his mother. She was a mother to Jaesang & Daeshim.

Hwa-Young couldn't believe her youngest was talking to her in this manner. Like she was a stranger. "How have you been ? The other boys visit, but never tell me anything..." Soobin avoided eye contact. Just sitting across from her was painful. "I won't bore you with the details. I am fine."

Their conversation was quite quick and boring. It didn't garner anything interesting to speak of until Hyun-Shik was brought in as well. "You were a disappointment then, and you are a disappointment now." Soobin was better at hiding his hurt since everything that had happened, but his anger was almost always at the forefront. Especially for his father.

Soobin quickly muttered a spell. A calming spell. Attacking his father won't get him anywhere. He wouldn't have much strength given his deficiency with dueling either. "Why ? Why was I always the subject of your disdain ?" Hyun-Shik has since the truth was revealed, made it very clear he morally wasn't a inherently good person.

"왜 안 돼요? 수빈 씨, 저는 당신에게 큰 기대를 했어요." (Why not you ? I had high hopes for you, Soobin.) What were these supposed high plans ? Soobin certainly didn't know, & Hyun-Shik wasn't sharing. Was this just something you took to the grave ? Soobin & Hyun-Shik alike experienced flashes of their duel. With very contrasting reactions.

Hyun-Shik felt completely accomplished. Even still had a sense of victory. From his standpoint, he put an end to something before it began.

Soobin was on the other end of the spectrum. He felt accomplished, but weak from their duel. Like his efforts were entirely useless when you change the status of his life. If Soobin was supposedly Hyun-Shik' favorite son, why was he neglected to believe otherwise ?

"High hopes ? What hopes ?", Soobin asked as his interest grew. What had his father had planned for him ? Did his mother know as well ? Hyun-Shik only decided to partly answer. Basically give no real answer in his opinion, & could mean absolutely nothing. "Greatness. For victory."

What did this mean ? Could Hyun-Shik not even be fully aware of what this meant for the entire course for Soobin' life ?

Before he was to leave, Soobin wanted one last answer. Something that could potentially answer things in his life currently. "결투 중에 나한테 무슨 짓을 한 거예요? (What did you do to me during the duel ?) I know you. You did something."

Hyun-Shik smirked. This was no ordinary smirk. This meant something else entirely. This was the expression of man harboring something, a secret. Is this secret worth revealing ? "Nice try, Soobin ah. I unfortunately do not have an answer for you."

Soobin angrily left the penitentiary and made his way back to the institute. On his way up to the Hades House hidden tower he feels that energy again. The energy drawing him to the Lake Of Mist...
