Welcome to a Halloween special! Trick-or-Treat Man, the urban legend come to life in the most gruesome of ways.

This year I decided to put my head together with arielklontz to come up with a unique scary seasonal story for you guys! If you haven't read any of Ariel's stuff before, definitely head over to her profile for some amazing work.

Twelve year old Lydia Arden begins to suspect the town urban legend might be woven with truth when the fabled Trick-or-Treat Man surfaces in the town of Pumpkin Springs.

Lydia thinks she's too old for trick or treating. All of her friends tell her it's lame, but when her mom threatens to take away her cell phone privileges if she doesn't take her little brother out to collect candy, Lydia dons her grim-reaper costume and walks little Scotty door to door. And, as even more incentive to cooperate, her mom shamelessly give's Scotty Lydia's cell phone so she won't be distracted by it. She's counting down the seconds until she can get home, when she and Scotty find the doors to one of the houses ajar, and there seems to be blood smeared on the doorframe. Scotty wants to go home, but Lydia's worried someone might be hurt inside.

What she finds beyond the threshold will haunt her for the rest of the night... and maybe for the rest of her life. Lydia runs back to her waiting brother to grab her cell phone and call for help, but Scotty drops the phone and it smashes on the concrete. There's no time — they have to run. Someone is after them because of what Lydia has seen, and he'll stop at nothing to claim his next victim. As she enters a game of cat and mouse with a masked killer, desperate to protect her brother Scotty and make it back home, Lydia will learn that some legends are based in truth.

The Trick-or-Treat Man is much more than some urban legend geared to get rogue trick or treaters in by bedtime... he's a living nightmare. And he's chosen Lydia's dreams to haunt.
