Luke's POV

When Katie picked Caleb I was so relieved! Of course, I didn't really show it on my face because I didn't want her to think I didn't care about her; of course I do, but not as much as I care for Veronica.

After Katie said she chose Caleb, I left and found Veronica at the front of the school. I smiled and walked next to her.

She looked at me for half a second before looking away from me. She seemed upset.

I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Hey, you okay?"

Veronica turned to face me. "You've been ignoring me ever since our study date. Why?"

I hesitated. "I really like you, Veronica. But at that point I wasn't sure how I was feeling. But I realize that I love you. I love you! Not Katie or any other girl. You."

Veronica looked me in the eye. She smiled and then placed her hands on my cheeks and kissed me.

I kissed back and wrapped my arms around her waist. We kissed for a few minutes before a throat cleared behind us.

I pulled away to see Caleb and Katie standing in a corner. Katie was covering her mouth, trying not to laugh, as Caleb stood next to her smirking with his hands behind his back.

"I gotta go. I'll text you later." Veronica kissed my cheek before leaving.

Caleb whistled as he and Katie got closer. "Wow. Looks like Luke got a girlfriend!"

"Same to you." I said as he wrapped his arm around Katie.

She smiled. "No hard feelings, right?"

I laughed. "Are you kidding? Didn't you just see me make out with Veronica?"

They laughed.

"Hey, let's go get smoothies?" Katie suggested.

We all agreed and headed across the street to a smoothie place.

Little did we know, Sydney was there.

And she didn't know Caleb and Katie were together.

"Hi, sweetie." Sydney ran to Caleb and kissed him.

Caleb pushed her away. "Sorry, Syd, but Katie and I are back together again."

Sydney gasped. "WHAT?! ARE YOU CHEATING ON ME?!"

"How would it be cheating if he just told you? Wouldn't cheating mean he wouldn't tell you?" Katie asked.

"You stay out of this." Sydney pointed at her.

"Hey! You don't talk to her that way!" Caleb said as he stood in between them.

"I can do whatever I want!" Sydney shouted. Before I knew it, there was a full blown argument going on.

Then something I never expected happened.

Sydney pushed Caleb out of the way and stood in front of Katie. "You stay away from my man." Then she punched her right in the nose.

Katie's head flung back as she grabbed her nose.

"WHAT THE HECK SYDNEY?!" Caleb shouted as he stood in front of her.

"What?" She said, pretending to be innocent.

Before Caleb could hurt my sister, I held him back. Everyone was shouting. I saw Katie get up out of the corner of my eye, and Caleb got out of my grasp to help her up.

"Looks like a broken nose." Caleb said as he handed Katie a napkin. She had a puddle of blood on her jeans and on the floor.

"You okay?" I asked as I helped her up.

"I will be. After this!" Katie threw a punch with her other hand at Sydney's face.

Sydney's head flung backwards as she put her hand over her eye.

"How dare you!" Sydney threw another punch at Katie's eye.

Katie winced before kicking Sydney in the shin.

Caleb held back Katie as I held back Sydney before more bones would be broken. The store manager kicked us out, too.

Once we were outside, I called Mom while still holding Syd back; that was hard.

When she finally arrived, as I was pushing Sydney into the car, she shouted, "YOU'L PAY FOR THIS, KATIE! I'LL GET CALEB BACK IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!" Then we drove away.

What's gonna happen now?

Katie's POV

I watched Ms. Paula's car drive away from the smoothie place as Sydney was shouting and cursing at me until they turned into the main road. My nose was throbbing, and my eye was hurting real bad.

"Katie? We need to get you to a hospital." Caleb said when he saw my face.

"No...I'm fine." I lied. Every time I opened my jaw my nose would move and hurt.

"No, you're not." Caleb called his mom who arrived quickly and drove us to the ER.

"What happened?" Ms. Katie asked as she drove to the nearest hospital.

"Katie got hurt by this guy who—"

"No." I interrupted Caleb. "That's not true, Caleb's just trying to have my back. The truth is that Sydney and I got into a fight."

Ms. Katie's eyes widened. "A fight? With Sydney?!"

We nodded.

"Wow. Who started it?"

"Sydney." We said in sync.

"Good Lord." Ms. Katie muttered under her breath as she dropped us off at the ER entrance.

"Call me when you need a ride home." She said before driving away.

Thankfully the line wasn't too long; I guess being at the ER at 3:30 is a good time.

They took me in quickly and put a hospital bracelet on my wrist and an IV in my left arm. They also checked all my vitals and said I had to wait for the doctor to examine me.

I squeezed Caleb's hand with my right hand. "Thanks for coming with me. You didn't have to stay."

"Yes, I did." He said as he squeezed my hand back. "Because you're my girlfriend and one of my best friends, and that's what we do."

He hugged me and kissed me before the doctor walked in.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Kherson." He shook my right hand and started to examine my face.

He placed his thumb and pinky finger on my nose very gently. I winced every time he touched it.

"Yep, definitely broken. Also a black eye." He said as he wrote it down on a clipboard. "How did this happen?"

"A girl picked a fight with me and punched me in the face." I explained.

He nodded. "She did a heck of a job on you. How does she look?"

"Bruised shin, probably a black eye and broken nose too." I said.

He laughed. It made me feel a little better. "Just don't pick any fights with people any more, okay?"

"Got you." I said.

A nurse came back in and unhooked my IV and they said I could go. Caleb and his mom took me home.

When I got home, Brennan opened the door and gasped. "What happened?"

"Sydney got in a fight with her." Caleb explained.

Brennan hugged me tight. "Thanks for taking her home."

"My pleasure. Bye, Katie. Feel better."

"Thanks." I waved as he left.

Mom came in and gasped. "What happened to you?!"

I explained and then hid in my room for the rest of the night; I didn't want to talk to anyone or see anyone. It was annoying to have people ask me about my face every second.

I had forgotten that I had to post a pic on Instagram, because I started Instagram challenge a few weeks ago. What should I post? Definitely not a selfie, because it would show my face...I guess a throwback picture? Yeah, that'll work.

I hit post and then put down my phone, falling asleep. I was so tired and in pain, so sleeping through the pain should help I guess.

I just hope this triangle ends soon.

Sydney's POV

When I got home I had to explain everything; Mom was pissed and didn't talk to me for the rest of the night, same with Dad, and Luke seemed pissed, too.

I walked away from the freezer with an ice pack over my eye when Luke walked in to get ice cream.

"Hey!" I greeted.

He didn't even look at me as he took out a bowl.

I sighed and leaned against the counter as Luke scooped out ice cream. "Luke, talk to me. Please?"

"Why?" He asked as she poured chocolate fudge on top of his ice cream.

"Because you're my brother! And we can't ignore each other forever!" I exclaimed as she began to walk away.

"What's wrong with you?!" I shouted as he turned the corner.

Just then he turned back and slammed his bowl on the counter. "What's wrong with me?! No, what's wrong with you. Ever since we started high school you've acted like a jerk. And when Katie and Caleb started to like each other, you decided to act even more jerkier and act like a jealous ex. You need to stop it, Sydney, and accept the fact that Caleb moved on. Two years is a long time, I'll admit. But guess what? Nothing lasts forever." He shook his head at me, grabbed his bowl, and walked to his room.

Then I sat there and cried. I finally realized what I had done. I had been such a jerk. Why was I like this? I had turned into...

A mean, jealous, jerky high school girl.

I needed to stop.

I needed to apologize.

Not just to Caleb, Luke, and my family, but to Katie.

And it had to be done immediately.

So I grabbed my bag and left a note on the kitchen counter as I ran down the street to catch the next bus.

I sat in the bus and thought about what I should say. I'm sorry? That's not gonna cut it. Forgive me?

But it may be too late...

A/N: I've also been working on this draft for days and it's finally up! Sorry to keep you guys wait! It's just school kills me slowly so...ya know...ya.
Hope this was a good chapter! This story may be ending soon *cries* since Sydney finally realized her mistakes.
Anyway what do you guys suggest I do for Sydney at the end of the story? I mean, Caleb has Katie, Luke has Veronica, Annie had Brennan (even though they don't show up that much), who should Sydney end up with? Let me know ⬇️⬇️
