"Hey everyone! Lauren is with me today!" Ashton greeted everyone and I shyly slid next to Michael in the bench with Ashton following me after. I didn't really want to sit with them for an hour and listen to Madison being a complete bitch to me or socialize with the biggest players of my school. But, I was obliged to do it because Kenzie is sick and Skylar is no where to be found. I'm just stuck with them even though Ashton is here but he'll do shit. They're his best friends, he can't ignore them and talk only with me.

I noticed that Luke wasn't present which was really weird since everyone is here. I met Madison's harsh glare and I smiled at her falsely before beginning to eat my lunch trying to keep up with the conversation Michael and Melissa are having. I felt so out of the place, I didn't know them that well and two of them are giving me death glares and I just wanted to hide in the bathroom until the lunch period is over.

"Hey Ash!" I lifted my head to see who decided to talk and it was Jacob, something about this guy seems off. I don't really stand him, he's arrogant and rude. "Have you?" He asked him wiggling his eyebrows and pointing me using them. I set my juice bottle looking at him with a confused look. Ashton and Michael tensed up beside me and Calum cleared his throat dropping his gaze to his plate. Ashley also took interest in her phone and became silent suddenly. I shared a questioning look with Melissa who shrugged slightly her shoulders and Madison was the only person drown in her own world.

I turned my head and locked my eyes with Ashton's and he smiled nervously not really knowing what to say. Jacob was silent, it's like he did something wrong and didn't have the right to talk. Something was going on and this thing had to do with me. They're hiding something and I can't really trust these people because they're betrayals. They're heartless, mean and rude. They can destroy my whole life without any care or respect. I'm really scared of what they're hiding.

"Okay, so, how's Friday's party Calum?" Melissa cut the awkward vibe with her cute voice full of excitement and I kept sneaking looks at Ashton who's trying to avoid me. I'm really upset because we're in a relationship and before dating, we were best friends. He shouldn't hide things from me, especially if they had to do with me.

After school, Ashton offered to drive me home with Calum, Mikey and Melissa. We kind of forgot about what happened during lunch and we talked normally during the car ride. I know that Melissa has nothing to do with them. She's sweet but very intelligent. She knows exactly what she's doing and I know that she'll never fall in their trap. I'm trying so hard to be like her.

Once we were in front of my house and alone, I decided to ask him. The topic has been bugging me practically during all the afternoon and I need explanations, that's what I deserve right? "What was Jacob talking about during lunch?"

He sighed rolling down the windows then decided to answer. "It's nothing Laur, just some random business, no big deal."

Business.

Business that has to do with me.

"He was pointing at me. I think that I have nothing to do with your drug deals or alcohol or anything!" I replied raising an eyebrow and his grip tightened on the steering wheel, "He didn't point at you." I chuckled shaking my head, he can't be serious.

"He did. That's why you all tensed up and got those panicking looks on your faces. Do you think that I'm blind or dumb so I can believe you?" I insisted because I'm sure as hell that he was pointing at me. He is hiding something. Call me clingy, but, I don't care.

"You're just imagining things Lauren."

"I'm not crazy okay! and I feel like you're hiding something." I finally said raising slightly my voice, completely irritated by being completely clueless. "I'm certainly not." He stubbornly replied and ran my fingers through my hair with an annoyed sigh.

"I know you all okay? I hope that it's not some new nasty business as usual, I trust you Ashton, that's why I'm with you. I don't wanna be disappointed again." I said, my voice dropping to a lower tone and he grabbed my hand giving it a squeeze.

"Trust me, it's nothing worth your worry. Jacob is always seeking attention and trying to put on some drama." He said locking his eyes with mine and I decided to just drop the subject, even though I'm still suspicious.

"I hope so, don't pick me up tomorrow, I'm gonna drive my car and pick Kenzie up." He nodded with a small smile and I leaned in to kiss his lips, it did make me feel a little bit better. We exchanged good-byes before I went straight to the front door unlocking it to get in. I changed quickly into more comfortable clothes and I grabbed my car keys to go see Kenzie. I missed her to be honest.

Once I was there, I found the door unlocked, so, I went upstairs to her room and I found her lying in a sea of blankets with red pajamas on. She was wearing her dorky glasses and she was on her computer. She noticed my presence and she closed the laptop and smiled.

"Missed you a tiny little bit, Laury." She said with a teasing grin.

"Stop it, that's Calum's nickname for me and I hate it." I took a seat on her desk chair and I started telling her about all what happened today and she was so curious like me. I needed to fill her with the details, because one, I need some help, two, maybe she knows something since she happens to hang out a lot more around them than usual.

"Oh dear God! Why always the exciting things happen when I'm absent." She whined throwing herself on the bed again between the hundred throw-on pillows. I rolled my eyes and I got up from the chair pacing in the room. "They're hiding something, I'm sure as hell, I can feel it."

"Although, I'm one hundred per cent sure that they have some horrible plan going on, I'm sure too that Ashton cares about you too much to just take part of something and hurt you." She did have a point, but, I'm still confused.

"I guess, but what do you think it would be?" I asked with a little sigh.

"You didn't have sex with him, did you?" Her question surprised me because she knew that I would tell her if I did. "Kenzie, I'd have told you, if I did."

"I don't know, but, I have a feeling that he meant if you guys had sex or nah." Something in her voice sounded like she knows exactly what's happening. Kenzie has this thing when she knows something and doesn't have the right to tell you, she tries to give you hints. She tries so hard to tell you without making it obvious. That's why I'm so worried right now.

"Why does he wanna know?" I decided to keep asking her questions, maybe, she'll blurt out something that doesn't need to tell and then, I'll bug her until she tells me everything, if she really does know something.

"I don't know."She mumbled, "It's whatever Lauren, screw them all."

I wish I can just forget about it.

This is so fucked up.
