I'm thinking about changing the Title and the cover, thoughts?

Vylad sat by the hospital bed, over looking Gene. He was hooked up to some machines, it broke Vylad's heart to see him like that.

Gene's mom was on the other side, crying softly as she held Gene's hand. Vylad could hear her softly praying. "Please, Irene, let my baby live.." she said.

Vylad softly sighed. He had no idea what was going on, Gene hadn't of been drinking, he wasn't smoking anything that he knew of, so he was stumped.

The door opened, causing Vylad to jump a little in surprise. Gene's mom stood up. "Doctor." She said. The doctor nodded and walked over to Gene.

"I need to ask you two some questions." He said. Gene's mom looked at Vylad and then back at him. "Okay." She said.

"According to his file, he's had a history of alcohol and drug abuse, is that true?" He asked. "Yes." His mom said quietly.

"And has he been on any of these substances recently?" The doctor asked. "No not at all." Vylad spoke up.

"Ah, I see, well with that information, the diagnosis will be much easier find, but this may just be a case of withdrawal." The doctor said.

"Wha?" Gene's mother asked. "Is most likely that his body has become dependent on alcohol, therefore if he hasn't had any in a while, his body will go through withdrawal.. Its very serious." The doctor said.

"But we still need to do some tests in case I'm wrong." He said. Gene's mother nodded. "Thank you, Doctor." She said.

The doctor walked out, leaving Vylad and the mother alone. Genes mom let out a heavy sigh. "We made him stop drinking, and look where it led to.." She said.

"I'm sure he'll be fine." Vylad said as he twiddled his thumbs. In all honesty he wasn't confident at all about Gene's health, but at the same time he had hope that he man he loved would be just fine.

There was a loud ding and Gene's mom pulled it her phone, reading something. "Damn him.." She hissed.

"What's wrong?" Vylad asked. "Too busy to see his damn brother.. I swear what is going on with Dante..?" She said.

Vylad looked down. "I see." He said. "Ah I'm sorry.. right now let's focus on Gene.." She said. "You're right." Vylad replied.

"Here, we might be there for a while so I'll grab us something to eat at the cafeteria downstairs." She said as she stood up.

"I can go." Vylad said. "No, I want you to stay here with Gene Incase something happens." She said. Vylad sighed and nodded. "Alright." He said.

Genes mom softly smiled before walking out.
