Part 6 Leda The Hydra Queen
Leda lays on the bed in her room in the Dragon manor, the page on her pillow showing her asleep wearing the arrowhead necklace and looking at a second paper showing just the necklace. "The Fang of Hercules..." says Leda in amazement.
"Long ago in Lerna, there lived a monster known as the Lernaean Hydra. A beast so foul that it killed livestock, and rumored to have poisoned the very water people drank. The great hero Hercules was tasked to slay this dreaded beast in his second part of his twelve labors. It was said the Hydra lived in the lakes in Lerna, but only one lake was where you could find it guard one entrance to the Underworld. Hercules along with his younger cousin Iolas wnt to search for this dreaded beast. Upon reaching the Hydra's lair Iolas being the young cousin foolishly threw stones into the lake, in anger the Hydra begins to slither up causing the water to bubble. The Hydra bursts out of the water it's seven serpent heads and hissed angrily at the two cousins. The Hydra's breath was foul and toxic, but not toxic enough to kill Hercules but only made the blood in his veins to fester, poor Iolas was scared out of his mind and hid behind his cousin. Hercules felt the odd rush of adrenaline and fear course through him, so he bravely grabbed his large club and brought it down on the Hydra's head breaking it's skull. He smacked the broken head again with enough force he broke the head off, and continued to do so until the serpent's seven heads came clean off and the body will fall. As he was moving away from the dead Hydra, the body jolts as if sparked back to life the seven headless heads stand up straight and began it's process of re-growing two more heads. The Hydra releases a deafening hissing roar, and slithers to the two Hercules panics and swings left and right breaking and severing heads. Only the head grow back in pairs and nothing seems to stop them, however until Iolas noticed all the long dead reeds that where growing long ago. Just by looking at the reeds he had an idea, he set to work on making a fire and told his cousin to stop severing heads. Hercules listens and only smacks at the Hydra's body, careful to not make the Hydra's blood spill. Finally Iolas made the flames blaze and yelled to his cousin 'CUT THE HEADS' Hercules knew his cousin was never wrong and did so. As Hercules severed heads Iolas was quick to burn the ends of the necks to prevent them from growing back, all the heads where severed along with the stumps being burned. The dreaded plague of the Hydra of Lerna fell to it's death abd made small twitches like a lizards broken tail. Hercules saw the spots where the Hydra's blood touched and watched it kill the grass, so he grabbed his arrows and grabbed one of the cleanly severed heads and brought it to a rock that was bowl shaped at the top. he holds the severed head by the jaws and lets the poisonous blood drip into the rock bowl. Once the bowl was filled to the brim he dipped the arrowheads into the poison, letting the poison coat each and every spot of the arrowhead he then set the arrowheads to dry in the sun. Hercules then broke off one Arrowhead and made it into a necklace and gave it the name Fang. He will use it for protection if needed as you would use a dagger." Says Leda as she finishes reading the page and touches the arrowhead around her neck.
After thinking constantly Leda gets off of the bed and walks to find Abraham, she checked the study, every room upstairs, then went downstairs to find a dragon like skull at the very back almost as if it's covering something. she goes over to it and notices a lever. She reaches for it and pulls on it, and by the activation the dragon skull lowers and reveals a door she steps onto the skulls jaw and walks towards the door and opens it revealing a somewhat empty soon to be greenhouse. Abraham was right in the center of it, placing bricks to make walls to hold future trees and smaller plants. She notices that there are some oddly placed holes in some areas some longer and less circular while others are round and shallow. "Hello Leda." says Abraham without even looking up. "Hello, Abraham." says Leda as she still looks around. "What is this place?" She asks. "The Dragon Garden. I will place plants from this world that are named after dragons or resemble them in any way....along with exotic pets. Did you like the drawbridge?" asks Abraham as he turns around and faces Leda. "Oh, so that's what the skull is for." says Leda as she nods.
"Hmm, why do I feel like you are going to ask for something?" asks Abraham, which causes Leda to blush slightly. "I was curious if you could make me a Queen. The Queen of Hydras." says Leda. Abraham closes his eyes and sits on the wall he has made, and slowly nods his head. "Alright Miss Anouk you wish to become the Queen of Hydras then you must raise a hydra from egg to it's teen years, and become it's mother. You have until the Full Moon." says Abraham. Leda's eyes where wide open, and she was shocked and a bit happy about it all. "Thank you!" says Leda as she hugs him and runs happily back inside and careful to not step into the holes in the ground.
