ACT ONE SCENE THREE:

Present

Galileo sat in front of Pope Urban, not wanting to put himself in more trouble than he has already been involved. He sat there listening for his punishment.

Pope Urban VIII: The Roman Church has made a decision to punish you from ever leaving your home. And will be guarded at all times. You must accept your actions, admit that the Earth is the center while the Sun rotates.

Galileo: (Defeated.) I have not advocated heliocentrism, but I had only done so unintentionally (http://www.history.com/topics/galileo-galilei).

Pope Urban VIII: (Satisfied.) Proceeding with the sentence, that you, Galileo Galilei, by finding yourself held by the church. For a document, that goes against the scriptures of the Holy Church and God (http://www.famous-trials.com/galileotrial).

Pope Urban VIII: (The Pope stood, walked to the door and took a last glance at Galileo before he turned his back.)  The Roman Catholic Church dismisses you, Galileo Galilei. The guard will escort you home.

The tall guard in metal armor, took Galileo by the arm and walked him to the trolley. He opened the door and Galileo stepped in, taking a last glance of freedom before he's trapped in his own home.
