Laughing, playing and cuddling was all the cubs would do when they were younger, but those days have subsided, faded away as their early adulthood rose from deep inside their souls, they aren't as inquisitive, not as enthusiastic about roaming the lands and getting into trouble any more. No, those days were over from what Kion and Rani could see, they've grown up so fast and their responsibilities have matured them in a way that made them feel old. Indeed the royals were getting older and even more duties piled on and the need for another break was looming, ever since three years ago not much movement was going on around the Tree Of Life, everything seemed peaceful. The Night Pride all found new roles in the Circle Of Life, Baylio and his partner Talia started a new Pride, Surak joined the PPO and Nirmala decided to join Makini in her duties and of course remain as the tree's healer. The Day Pride went back to their old ways, patrolling in the day light and occasionally taking the night shift. But it was time, time for a new era, a new generation and quite possibly a new Lion Guard.

The sun rose, the birds chirped and the animals rose from their slumber, Kion woke at the feeling of the sun's rays penetrating his fur. Nudging Rani as she moaned awake,

"Good morning my queen", Kion said Kissing Rani on the forehead,

"Morning", Rani said, stretching her legs and returning Kion the favour. Looking over to the corner the three young ones were asleep, Kion looked at Rani, they smiled and stood up, walking out of the tree they made their way up to the mountain,

"Do you think their ready?", Rani asked,

"I think so, they'll be taught everything in any case and we'll be here to help if they're not", Kion replied.

"Hope you're right", Rani sighed.

They made their way to the top of mount Tempa, the sun's heat already making them sweat.

"You ready?", Kion asked hugging her tight",

"I was born ready", Rani said, punching him in the leg.

Kion smiled and looked up, "Grandfather Mufasa?",

"Yes Kion?",

"Hey grandfather, me and Rani have decided on what's next in our journey through the circle of life",

"Are you sure about this? It's a very big decision, do they know?", Mufasa stated.

"Not yet, but Kion and I believe that the cubs are ready", Rani said.

"Very well, bring them up here, it is time", Mufasa said disappearing.
