Waking up in the daylight the three cubs lost track of time, it was nearly lunch time, the night before since their mum and dad weren't here Azaad and Fuli let em stay up, maybe for too long. Karla forgot that Kion and Rani weren't home, going on a short holiday, 'why couldn't we go?', they complained and moaned all day and night and the answer every time was that Kion and Rani needed time to themselves for a few days, "they'll be back soon", " But what about my hunting lessons?", Karla suddenly thought about them and began to panic, " don't worry if you like you can me or Azaad to help? Or even ask Uncle Surak or Baliyo if they are free",
"really?", " yeah, but don't nag them, remember they still need to patrol", " okay", Karla rolled her eyes and headed off to go play with Tufa.

Lying on the rock it was the first day they slept alone, it kinda scared them, Carlos woke up next after Karla, he sniffed the air to see if Kion and Rani were around but just remembered what's left in them was their small scent of fur that fallen out while Kion was scratching, the yellow fur laid peacefully on the ground on the tree. " good morning Carl, sleep well?", as Karla roughed his hair up, "hay, your gonna mess my mane up",
"HA, mane? What mane? All I see is brown fur? Long way to go bro", " j-just wait and see, mine will be like dad's", "well see", Rafi just woke up after hearing all the talking, " hmm", Rafi said raspy,
"Good morning Rafi", "morning guys, what time is it", realizing the cubs stumbled their way out of the tree and into the light, " Oh your awake?", Nirmala spoked them, coming around the corner of the tree, " oh, sorry to scare ya, I was gonna wake you guys up earlier, but you were just too cute", "well, what you doing today?", Rafi asked, " well for this morning the Night Pride still needs rest, the Day Pride is out so... I guess you can either hang around us or yourselves, just make sure you tell us where your going", Karla and the others gave a look and said that they'll be happy to spend time with them for the first half of the day, " okay, well I'm going to help Makini, Baliyo and Surak is at the Night Prides sleeping quarters, have fun", Nirmala walked off to help Makini with some new coming animals, " Let's go scare Uncle Surak and Baliyo", Karla's tail was wagging like a dog and the idea gave everyone butterflies, " yeah, let's do it", Karla lead her two brothers towards the base where Surak and Baliyo were sleeping? Or chilling, they'll find out.

"Ready?", the cubs got ready to pounce on their uncles who were just lying down talking about their patrol, " so, how do you think Kion and Rani will do?", Surak lifted his head as if he heard something, alert, he smiled and nodded his head towards the direction the three cubs were, he gave a look to Baliyo who caught a whiff of Carlo's scent to play along, they continued to talk as the three cubs pounced on them, "ooh no, you got us, help, help? We've been captured by evil lions, spare us young ones", The three cubs were giggling and playing with their uncles, " don't worry, it's us sillies, were not evil lions", still playing along the two of the older lions began to play with them, "oh, I really thought you were trying to catnip us", they shared a good laugh before settling down, " we got you good didn't we?", "yeah, sure you did", Baliyo rolled his eyes at Surak who looked down on Rafi who was clawing at his arm.

Time passed and the three were getting board, " do you guys want to know what we do on patrol?", Baliyo asked the question and instantly six ears propped up, " yes, yes please", that's another thing about the cubs, they had very good manners, " okay, well while your mum and dad are asleep, me, uncle Surak and Nirmala go on patrol", " in the dark?, isn't that scary for you?", " no, not all the time, were not afraid of the dark", " why not?", Surak and Baliyo knew she was going to ask a lot of questions and they let her, " well because we know that the great kings of the past are looking down on us, they keep us safe and guide us through the night", "wow", Karla was amused and wanted to hear more, " we fight baddies, in order to keep you three safe we try and scare them off, we not only do that but help the animals who sought refuge here, some come and go and we help them, some are injured and sick and so Auntie Nirmala does all that", " wow, can I heal anyone?", "maybe, the great Kings and Queen's choose a perfect role for each and everyone of you. For example you Karla will be the next queen if these lands, Carlos will be the leader of the Night Pride and Rafi will be the leader of the Day", all three cubs eyes winded as the words came out, they got super hyped and happy, " really? Me queen? Ruler of these lands?",
"yes, but only when your bigger and mature", " but I'm mature now", Baliyo giggled and agreed,
" but you need to grow more and plus your mum is still queen", the boys asked about their role and Surak told them that Rafi would be the leader of the Day Pride which means he would obtain the roar of the elders," what's that?", the cubs never heard of the roar of the elders, Rafi tried to roar but a little squeak came out, the others laughed, Rafi was embarrassed and hide his tail in between his legs, " how can I be leader if I can't roar?",  "don't worry son, when you grow your roar will be bigger, louder and more powerful", Rafi liked the sound of that and began to act like Kion. Meanwhile Karla acting like Rani being a queen. Carlos ran away and covered himself in mud and came back,
"What are you doing?", Baliyo and Surak wondered what the cub is up to, " NOW, listen to me, I am the leader of the Night Pride", " NO, I am the leader of the Day Pride so you gotta listen to me", " NO you fools, I am queen and you gotta listen to me", They giggled as they tried being like the adults, "anyways, you three have fun, stay out of trouble and if your hungry their is left over's", they stopped playing and asked where they were heading, " we got to go do a task to help out down south",
"Can we come?", " No, sorry your too young and this task is dangerous", "aww, okay", " good, now stay here, behave and have a good day", "WILL DO", the cubs yelled as the two Night Pride members jogged away, " so what are going to do now", they thought for a while and came up with a great idea, " let's play Tree Of Life, a game where we have to go around and save animals and help them", They liked it and ran back to the tree to start their game.
