Part 43- Two hearts meet

ROSALY

Rosaly came home from a day's work at the gym and sighed with relief. Traffic was hellish that day, and the subway she was taking to work was packed. That was the problem in the city of São Paulo, you would wake up very early, and then spend whole hours in the traffic jam, or in a crowded subway. Rosaly always preferred the subway as a means of transportation, it was faster than the bus, and although the number of passengers was higher, she didn't have to worry about the heavy traffic, wondering if she would arrive late or not at work.

She took off her shoes, sighed with relief, sat down on the sofa and opened the bag, and from inside she took out a leaflet. Her eyes ran quickly over what was written, while her hands trembled nervously and her heart squeezed with nostalgia.

Shawn would come to Brazil that month and do some shows around the country, and one of the cities chosen was São Paulo She closed her eyes, and the image of his face appeared in her clear and sharp mind, as if he were there at that very moment.

She had been back to Brazil for three months, leaving behind the man she loved and her heart, and it had been a daily battle nt to call him or sending messages. She knew she had lost that right when she left him, but her heart seemed not to understand that it was all over, that she had finished everything and could not go back. She still loved Shawn too much, she spent sleepless nights thinking about him, remembering those incredible brown eyes, his low, husky voice in her ears when they made love, and his warm embraces in the morning. She still had the CD with his songs that Adriane had recorded for her, but she avoided listening to them, as she inevitably ended up crying, just as she avoided looking for any news related to him. She didn't want to know where he would be and with whom, because that would hurt her too much. She had no illusions that he would be alone for a long time, since there were plenty of girls at Shawn's door who would gladly comfort him if he so wished.

When she returned to Brazil she was devastated, she felt as if she had left behind her whole life, her newly discovered happiness, and the only man she would ever love. Those were difficult days of loneliness and sadness. She did not feel like going out or seeing her old friends again. She had the impression that her life was over and the fighting spirit, which had always accompanied her in the worst situations, had left her that time. She was tired of running away, she was tired of losing the things she loved most and always having to start again from scratch. That was no life for anyone.

Caio was still missing, but she was sure that he would appear at any moment, and that no longer frightened her. She'd already been through the worst things in his hands, and Rosaly knew what he was capable of, so she didn't fear him anymore. She had lost the man of her life because of him, and nothing else mattered to her. She just wanted it all to be over soon and she could live in peace.

She didn't know what her life would be like after that, and she didn't want to think about it now. She was more worried about how to survive every day without Shawn. He'd never looked for her or even sent a message wanting to know how she was doing. Not thats he'd been waiting for it. Rosaly had left him in the middle of the night, with only one letter explaining why she did it, and Shawn must have been hurt with it. She wouldn't take away his reason. Maybe he'd already forgotten her and found someone more uncomplicated to love, and that thought made her moan in pain. Because even if she tried not to think about it, it mattered a lot not to be Shawn's girl anymore, not to be her to wake up with him in the morning, not to be the one he would give the last smile to before he fell asleep. She had lost that right some months ago.

What had helped her to stay focused and not to give herself up to despair was the support of her family. Her mother and brother had been incredible, giving her affection and even lap when she needed to cry. Her friend Daniele was always by her side, and she was her main confidant when her longing for Shawn was intolerable, and Rosaly needed to talk about him and how important he was in her life.

But despite all the sadness, wonderful news had come to sweeten her life so bitterly. Daniela had found out she was pregnant, and she and Rosaly's brother were getting married, which had made her very happy with the news. When he had told her, Rosaly had just smiled and said:

- Didn't I tell you? - he'd just laughed and asked her to stop grumbling, but it was evident from his look that he was delighted with the news and in love with Daniela. Rosaly loved her brother, he'd been her best friend her whole life, and she wished him very happy, at least one of them would have to be.

When she thought about Daniela's pregnancy, Rosaly felt a hint of envy. Her friend would have a son and the man she loved by her side, while Rosaly had missed the chance. But it was her choice, and she couldn't complain now.

Rosaly had also returned to teaching dance classes at the same academy she had worked at before going to Canada. That had been her salvation, and had kept her from falling into a deep depression. Dancing was good for her soul, and she also had no time left to suffer for a lost love, and now with her brother's marriage, Daniele had asked for her help with the preparations, and Rosaly was very excited.

However, that morning when she got off the subway on Paulista Avenue, the first thing she saw was Shawn's picture on the big screen. Her heart almost broke in half, and the pain she felt was so immense that she had to close her eyes, take a deep breath, and wait for the sting she felt inside to pass. Rosaly opened her eyes again and looked at the picture, feeling the longing to consume it. Shawn looked exactly the same as she remembered. The curly brown hair falling over his forehead, the brown eyes that reminded her of warm caramel, and the manly lips she'd always taken pleasure in kissing. He held a guitar, and he wasn't smiling, but he still managed to make her feel the natural magnetism that came from him. She had to admit Shawn Mendes was the most attractive man she had ever met, and it had been hers for so little time. She wanted to have had more time to show how much her love for him was enormous, but time had passed and she had let him go from his life, maybe forever.

Rosaly had gone to work without getting Shawn out of her mind, and when she had finished her shift she went to the nearest magazine stand and found leaflets that talked about Shawn's shows in Brazil. The desire to see him grew in a way that she almost forgot common sense, and bought tickets to his show. One side of her said "what harm can there be? "the other said," you better not take the chance. Her mental confusion was so great that when she got home she hadn't made up her mind yet.

When Daniele showed up later that day at her house, she still found her on the couch looking at nothing.

- What was it, Rosaly? You seem worried about something. - Rosaly extended to her the brochure she had in her hands.

- Is Shawn Mendes  coming to Brazil? That's incredible. - Daniele was clapping her hands for joy.

- How can that be incredible? - Rosaly looked at her without understanding her happiness.

- You can see each other again.

- Have you gone crazy? I can't see you.

- Why can't you?

- Because I broke up with him for a letter. Because I'm a coward, and even if I could see him I wouldn't, because I couldn't stand his angry look at me.

- Stop being silly, Rosaly. You love each other and I don't see why you have to live apart.

- I can't see him, Danielle. It wouldn't be fair to either of us. - Didn't Danielle realize how painful that was for her?

- Rosaly, ever since you came back you've been unhappy. You pretend everything's fine, but I've known you for years and I know when you're lying. You love this man, so why are you gonna miss this opportunity that life is giving you? Are you gonna let Caio beat you? - Rosaly was still feeling undecided.

- I still don't think it's a good idea.

- Wait a minute. - Daniele asked. She took the bag, and she took out a cell phone. She used it for a few minutes, and then she said:

- Okay, now you have front row tickets to the show in Sao Paulo.

- Danielle! Why did you do that? - Rosaly asked in amazement.

- Because I want you to be happy, and because I want my friend back.- Danielle answered smiling.

- Thanks - Rosaly hugged her with tearful eyes.

- No reason, honey. Now, I was wondering if you could help me with the wedding invitations.

- Sure. Let's get to work. - and they spent the next few hours working on sending out the invitations.

Later that night, while lying in bed, Rosaly asked herself if Danielle was really right? Should she go meet Shawn? What would she  tell him?  She wonder if he'd forgiven her. There were so many questions and no answers. She'd have to believe it would all work out. She had to believe that her love was stronger than anything, and that it would bring Shawn back to her life. There were no guarantees, she'd have to pay to see.

Shawn

Another show finished, Shawn thought as he left the stage and headed for the dressing room. His life was at a crazy pace, and he barely had time to eat or sleep, and he gave thanks for that Three months ago, when Rosaly left, he thought he'd go crazy. The first impulse was to look for her and beg her to come home with him. But then he thought it over, and he decided he should respect Rosaly's wishes. If she didn't want him anymore, then he wouldn't insist. He had done everything so they could be together, but she hadn't trusted him enough to stay by his side.

He could understand her reasons but couldn't accept them, Shawn had promised that Caio would never hurt her again, but she would rather run than fight him at his side. Was it his fault? Had he done something that had forced Rosaly back to Brazil? Like those people who always take responsibility for the mistakes of others, Shawn blamed himself for a long time and suffered too much. Although he worked like he used to, dedicating almost all his time to his recording studio, anyone who knew him closely knew that something was wrong.

He had stopped laughing easily, and spent more time locked in his room than in the company of people, he seemed to want to lick his wounds alone, and let no one into his lonely world. Brian had tried to help, his mother had tried to help, but he wouldn't listen to anyone and wouldn't open up, turning away everyone who showed compassion for his pain.

Rosaly had become a forbidden subject, he never talked about her as he didn't let anyone else, and if by chance or accident someone said her name, he would shut himself off even more, clearly showing that that wasn't his favorite topic of conversation. Shawn didn't do it out of anger or resentment. It was that talking about her hurt so much that he preferred to keep to himself any memories connected to her.

And there was no shortage of memories of Rosaly in his memories. She was always alive in his head as if he could see her before him. Shawn remembered every detail of her, and knew he would never forget her. His love for her hadn't diminished an inch, on the contrary, it seemed to be getting bigger by the day, and he had no hope that it would ever end. She was everything he had desired and there was no one in the world like her. Shawn still worried that Caio was free, and he wished with all his heart that Rosaly was safe, and that her sacrifice had not been in vain.

He no longer expected her to return. In the first days of Rosaly's escape, there had been a lint of hope inside him that she would change her mind and return to her arms, but none of that had happened, and he had decided not to think about it anymore, but that was something difficult to do.

There was always something that reminded him of her, and that would drive him crazy. He had tried to go out with other girls, but none of them would be able to make him forget that wonderful girl who had been the center of his life.

So he had thrown himself into work, like a castaway in search of a lifeline, and work was the only thing that absorbed him to the point of not allowing him to think of anything else, and and the result was that his songs were better than ever, they were raining invitations for shows, and his tour was a success. But as his bank account grew bigger and bigger, his heart was still empty, and no money in the world could change that.

But Shawn was still involved in an overworked marathon, and he would fix one show in the other without thinking much about the physical exhaustion it could cause. It was like an anesthetic to his inner despair, an escape from the reality of his life that was in complete chaos at the time. He went to the window of his hotel room and contemplated the scenario in front of him. He was in Australia and would soon go to South America, where in his concert route Brazil was included.

Inside his soul a small flame was kindled. Would he see Rosaly? Was there a small chance to turn it on? Shawn didn't have her address, but he would keep her brother's phone number. Maybe if he called, he could tell him how Rosaly was doing. Shawn needed to know if she was okay, if Caio hadn't looked for her. The police were still after him, but he still hadn't gotten any concrete leads. Shawn prayed he'd get caught soon and Rosaly could live her life, even if it meant she'd stay away from him

He loved her and could not deny that truth, and would never love another person that way. Shawn hated the fact that they were separated, but she would decide that, and she did it without consulting him. But he respected her will, he couldn't force her to do something she didn't want to do, and maybe Rosaly didn't want him anymore. His heart squeezed at that thought, Shawn shook his head unable to believe that Rosaly no longer loved him. They had such intense, passionate moments in each other's arms, it was not possible that she had forgotten what they meant to each other. How he missed her. Often when he woke up in the morning he instinctively looked for her on his side, only to realize that his bed was as empty as his life now.

There was no escaping or hiding, for wherever the pain went he would go with it, and despite all the suffering he was going through, he could not help but be grateful that Rosaly had come into his life, and show him the kind of man he could and wanted to be. All he could do was move on, and try to live his life as best he could, even though deep down he knew that an existence without Rosaly wasn't what he really wanted. For there was a part of him that didn't want to conform, refused to simply accept things the way they were without a fight. For this reason,

He hadn't given up on her completely. For now, he was just following the plan she had drawn up. Shawn would find Rosaly one day if it were at the end of the world. That's what had been feeding him, his spirit, that's what was driving him forward. Their story couldn't have ended like this.

- Shawn, it's time. - Andrew called at the bedroom door

- I'm going. He answered. He took all the material he would use in the show, left the room and went towards the van that would take him to the penultimate show that week. Next week they would be on their way to Brazil, and Shawn was already feeling anxious. The only image that came to his mind and which he had never been able to forget was Rosaly.

SHAWN AND ROSALY

Rosaly looked at herself in the mirror, uncertain that the clothes she was wearing were suitable for that night. She still couldn't believe she was going to the Shawn Mendes show. Her head told her it was wrong, but her heart longed to see it. All that time living on memories had only hurt her more.

What had she thought she was doing when she left Shawn's love behind, and returned to Brazil? At that time she thought she had done the right thing, because she wanted to protect Shawn and his family from possible retaliation from Caio if he wanted to get back at her, because he knew Rosaly would do anything to get her love spared, and she wanted to avoid that kind of situation, but at what price? She had slaughtered her heart with the lack of him every day, hour, for whole days and nights of missing the one man to whom she would always belong. And worst of all, she knew that she had hurt Shawn, for she had made a decision on her own without even giving him the right to argue, or showing him that she was wrong. So she didn't know if he would ever forgive her.

She kept looking at herself in the mirror. The dress she wore was red, strapless, tight and short. She had left her hair loose like Shawn liked it, and wore his favorite woody perfume. As accessories she had put on a pair of pearl earrings and a pearl necklace as well and to match. She didn't wear much make-up, just what was needed to enhance her lips and eyes.

Now that she was ready she felt ridiculous. Why did she get dressed like that? She did not even know whether she would have the courage to talk to him, and if she did, she did not know what to expect from that meeting. What if he did not want to talk to her? It was his right, she thought, while another thought crossed her mind. What if he was with her? That was a possibility, since a certain time had passed and Shawn would only be alone if he wanted to.

A wave of jealousy took hold of her, almost making her give up going to the show. Rosaly knew she'd be devastated if she saw Shawn with another girl, because she couldn't stand the thought of another woman being in his arms, touching him like she used to, or kissing him on those lips that knew how to drive her crazy when they made love.

But what right did she have to feel that way anyway? Her conscience accused her mercilessly. Had she not chosen that situation? Wasn't she the one who had decided to give up true love? What was she now complaining about? If Shawn had found someone else to share her life with, all she could have wanted was for him to be happy, for there was nothing more she could do about it.

Rosaly took a deep breath and took her purse. Her brother was supposed to take her to the show with Daniela. They would have a dinner with her family, so they would accompany her to the stadium. They just thought it was a shame Rosaly didn't invite a friend over to keep her company, but she had said she'd rather go alone, because she didn't want anyone to witness her sadness if Shawn rejected her.

The show would take place at Allianz Park, an important internship in São Paulo where several shows and soccer matches were held as well. When they got there the line to enter was huge, and Rosaly had to squeeze herself among all the people who were there eager to see their idol, until she arrived at the place that Daniela had bought  her. Before she disappeared into the crowd, she had heard her friend shout "Good luck", and Rosaly thanked her, knowing that she really would need it.

She arrived in the front row, after being elbowed and almost dragged by a bunch of fans who were extremely excited about the show that was about to start. The tension took over Rosaly who couldn't stand still, twisted her nervous hands, and a cold in her stomach left her breathless.

Then he entered with that magnetism so typical of him, that light that had attracted Rosaly from the first time, that hoarse, warm voice that reminded her of the nights they spent together and every moment she was his, Shawn's arms around her waist, her bodies coiled in each other. She closed her eyes and felt his presence around her as Shawn played his songs on his guitar, leading the audience once again into delirium. Rosaly found herself singing with him every hit, every line, and every chorus. The vibe coming from the stage was incredible, as was the audience's response to Shawn's genuine excitement. When the show came to an end, Shawn got the audience's attention and said:

- I wanted to thank everyone who made that night so amazing and special. This song I'm going to sing is very important to me, because it reminds me a lot of someone who was a part of my life for a long time, and who will always be special to me.

Then Shawn started singing your song, and Rosaly felt her throat tightening, and tears started rolling down her cheeks. Then he still remembered her, and that song was always theirs , since they met  it was the theme of many moments. He finished singing, said goodbye to his fans and left the stage.

Rosaly felt an immense need to see him, she needed to talk to him even if only for an instant. But how could she bypass security and get to him? Luckily she saw Martha, Shawn's music production company she'd worked with for a few days in his studio. Rosaly walked up to her, touched her arm, and when she saw Rosaly she said very sweetly:

- Rosely what a joy to see you here. How are you?

- I'm fine, thanks for asking. Martha, I know I have no right to ask you that, but can I see Shawn for a minute?

- Sure, honey. He'll love to see you too, I'm sure. His dressing room is  the second one on the left.

- Oh, thank you. - said Rosaly relieved. And she walked in the direction Martha had pointed.

As she walked down the long corridor, she wondered what she would say to him. She didn't know how he would react to her being there. When she got near the door, Rosaly lost her nerve and wondered what she was doing there. She turned to take the same route back where she had come from, find the exit and go home when he called her:

- Rosely. - She stopped in the middle of the hall, savoring the timbre of that voice that came to her like a caress. Rosaly couldn't take the strain anymore, and she stood in front of him, fervently hoping she could overcome the distance between them and throw herself into Shawn's arms.

But she couldn't move, she stood where she was just contemplating that much-loved face, which in all that time she hadn't been able to forget. He walked towards her, his eyes nailed to hers, and his hands in the pocket of the jeans he was wearing. Within seconds, Shawn was standing next to her, and he said smiling lightly:

- Hey.

- Hi.- She answered. She had so much to say to him, but he couldn't think of anything now that he was there.

- How are you doing? - She asked.

- I could be better. - He answered without taking his eyes off her.

- Your show was amazing. - Why were you talking about unimportant things, when you could be in his arms, her conscience was scolding her.

- Thank you," he answered, as his eyes wandered through her entire body.

How beautiful she looked, he thought. Not even in his wildest dreams did he imagine she would come to his dressing room that night. But there she was, just as she remembered. He wanted so badly to kiss her that neither of them could breathe, and touch her hair just to feel the soft texture on his fingers, but he was afraid to frighten her, so he only admired her with a half a smile without actually telling her exactly what was going through his head.

Rosaly felt the intensity of his gaze, and suddenly she thought she shouldn't be there. What did she really want when she came looking for him after the show? She knew very well that it wasn't going to work out, that Caio was still between them and Shawn could get hurt. That's why she'd come back to Brazil, out of his life. She didn't want him to be the target of Caio's hatred.

But her longing had spoken louder than common sense, and she needed to escape before she fell into the trap of her own heart

- Well, I just came by to see how you were doing and say hello to you for the wonderful show. Now I gotta go. Traffic must be terrible at this time. I hope the other shows are the same success as this one. Good night, Shawn. - She turned to leave, but he held her wrist and said:

- Please stay. We need to talk.

- Shawn, I don't think that's a good idea.

- Please, I just want to talk to you. - Those brown eyes that were begging touched her heart, and even if her head said, "Go away, it's a mistake"--she nodded.

- Let's go to my hotel. There we'll have all the privacy we need. –

Shawn called a cab and took Rosaly with him to the hotel where he was staying. They went into his room and Shawn asked:

- Are you hungry? We can have dinner here if you want.

- No, thanks.-  She was so nervous she couldn't swallow anything.

- So, what do you want, Rosely? -

Rosaly looked at Shawn thinking about his question. What did she want anyway? It wasn't a hard question to answer if she thought from the side of her heart, but the reason was another story, and it told her to get out of there before she lost control of the situation. But then she stifled the voice of her conscience and let her heart speak for her. Rosaly got lost inside those eyes and said without thinking twice:

- I want you.

Shawn couldn't believe what she said. He was speechless for a few minutes, not knowing what to do. Then he won the distance between them, grabbed her by the waist, taking her lips in a violent, desperate, sensual kiss. Shawn opened the zipper of her dress by dropping it to the floor along with the lingerie she wore that night, his clothes joined hers, as Shawn's hands slid across her body, making her moan with pleasure, and she glued her body to his, kissing his strong chest, and curling her fingers into his hair. Shawn pulled her to bed, lying her between the sheets, and thus began to torture her with his mouth and tongue, leaving her breathless.

Rosaly was delirious, her moans were getting louder and louder, and her body was on fire. He descended his body on hers, and Rosaly surrounded his waist with her legs, bringing him even closer to her intimacy, and when she thought she could no longer bear his caresses on her body, he possessed her, and Rosaly groaned even louder, diving into a dance of desire as their bodies moved together, until pleasure came with all its might, carrying them to another sphere beyond the stars.

When they came to their senses, their bodies sated and calmed, Rosaly rested her head on Shawn's chest while he stroked her hair. Rosaly knew they needed to talk, but she didn't want to break that magical connection that had been so perfect between them.

- Rosely, spend the night with me. - Shawn said in a husky voice.

- I don't know if that's a good idea. Besides, we should talk

- Well, right now I'm more interested in making love to you again. - He began to touch her again, the longing for both was intense and wouldn't be satisfied so easily.

- Shawn... She was going to protest but her passion for him spoke louder, and she found herself again totally involved with his caresses. Then She  forgot good sense , and thought as he kissed her intensely, "He's right,  we can talk tomorrow. "

i hope you like it and comment on it. Sorry for any mistakes. Kisses.
