One Shot #13 : My Grim Bir

Hey, guys! How are you all?
I know it's been ages since I updated an OS, but here I'm again, with very cute OS from Kabir's beloved wife Anaisha's pov. Since yesterday was Annie aka Shraddha Kapoor's birthday, here's my gift for all the readers.

Hope you all enjoy it!!

One Shot #13
My Grim Bir

"I'm so tired, yaar, Anu. Back to back surgeries, OPD, checkups, and what not. Sometimes I feel like being a doctor isn't always a noble profession, rather it's more like a curse to me!" my darling husband ranted.

If someone else had said this, I wouldn't have been this much shocked. But to hear it from my husband, it's no less shocking than to find a vampish Saas (mother-in-law) showering her sanskari (cultured) yet bebas (helpless) Bahu (daughter-in-law) with the sweetest compliments available. The Saas-Bahu equation is still plausible, but my husband's rant is surreal. (I know that's a very realistic analogy, I'm a genius. It's just Bir who doesn't agree with me!)

"Bir, are you really saying that?" I asked, just to confirm if I heard it right. It's not uncommon to have your ears mishear something, it's pretty normal. And here, it seems more necessary to get a confirmation before reacting.

And seems like I really did hear it right, because the look my hubby gave me next, said it all.

Narrowing his eyes, my exhausted yet adorable hubby glared at me, and very sassily said, "Baby, I didn't know the walls have started speaking on behalf of me. Must be your effect!"

*Giggle* Well, yeah, given the sort of chirpy girl I am, I would've loved to giggle loudly, if my Bir wouldn't have been in such a grim mood. But at the moment, giggling was equivalent to dancing around in an area with live landmines ready to explode. (Another perfect analogy!)

"Arre, nai, Bir, the walls would never dare to speak on your behalf, even if I try to make them do so. You know they are very much loyal to you," I said, not making sense at all. Bir realised it too.

"Anu, why don't you go sleep? You aren't making any sense, and that normally happens when your past your sleep time." Bir said, trying to keep his sass least, but I still know he was in a mood where every next thing he'd say would have oodles and oodles of sass, topped with a few choicest of sarcastic compliments.

His this mood, sometimes make me wonder, what would've happened to him if I wasn't a part of his life? Like I know, apart from me, no one else can keep up with him. I know, I know, I'm awesome, but on a sober note, Bir's not the easiest going person, especially when he's in foul mood. Although, it's me, who's infamous for my foul mood, yet my hubby's giving me a good competition here. And this I have learnt after my marriage to him, when boyfriend becomes hubby, and there's no way you could run away!

"Acha, okay. I know I'm not making any sense, but c'mon, get changed, I'll reheat food for us," I said. Like one of those rare days when I come home before Bir, today also, I was waiting for him to come home so that we could have our dinner together.

"Na, I don't really feel like having food," he said. But I think he instantly realised that I still hadn't have my dinner, because of my frown, and quickly covered up by adding, "You get the food ready, I'll change my clothes."

Without waiting for a reply, he left for the bathroom, while I went to get our dinner. Sometimes it feel so strange to me that I fell for a guy like Bir. I mean, I'm not cribbing, but he's so indifferent at times. Though, he's one of the nicest and politest people, but his foul mood isn't something everyone would want to see him with, mainly because of his sass and sarcasm. I understand well now the reason why my brother prefers to avoid Kabir when he's in his angriest and foulest best. But there's nothing I could do, because a) I love him, and b) there's no way I could run away now, though I wouldn't even want to. And that's only because I know, he loves me more than anything in his life, and that would never change!

Anyway, as he's in a bad mood, today's dinner would go in silence. Because any conversation with Bir now, would result in a fight, which I wouldn't want to have any given time of the day. I really don't like to fight with him, mainly because Bir always become silent after that, and that's the least desirable thing for me. I rather play with crocodiles, than fight with Bir, because atleast crocs would've a reason to run after me, while Bir wouldn't even care for a reasonable argument. But that's okay, because Bir in a bad mood is one the rarest things, like once or twice in a month, but Anaisha Thapar (that's sound so freaking good) can be easily found cranky every third day. And Bir never complain about it as well, I know my hubby's fabulous!

I went upstairs with the tray laden with our dinner, my favourite pasta that GM cooked for me. What? I'm not a lazy daughter-in-law, in fact it's my in-laws who don't make me do any household work, but I still try to do a few things like preparing breakfast. I'm extremely pampered, even in my Sasural!

"Birrrr, dinner's hereeeee," I sang merrily, walking inside the room.

He had already settled on the bed, so I went and sat beside. Just like I predicted, the dinner went in silence. By the looks, Bir appeared to even contemplate whether the food would go inside his mouth on its own, even when the pasta looked so deliciously sexy with the yummy red sauce!

"Good night, Anu." Bir wished me, before lying on his side of bed after I came back from the kitchen.
Just a good night? No 'I Love You'? No good night kiss? I can't go to sleep like that and Bir's mood needs to be uplifted right now!

I immediately picked my phone up from the bedside table, and played one of my most favourite old hindi movie songs from 60's.

Aaja piya tohe pyaar dun,
Gori baiyyan to pe vaar dun.
Kis liye tu, itna udaas?
Sukhe-sukhe honth,
Ankhiyo me pyaas.
Kis liye, kis liye?

And it seems to do the trick, as Kabir set up straight on the bed almost immediately. So, I went ahead with my act.

Aaja piya tohe pyaar dun,
Gori baiyyan to pe vaar dun.
Kis liye tu, itna udaas?
Sukhe-sukhe honth,
Ankhiyo mein pyaas.
Kis liye, kis liye?
Ho...
Aaja piya tohe pyaar dun,
Gori baiyyan to pe vaar dun...

Bir understood what I'm trying to do, and thus turned his face away from my direction. But there's no way I would let it affect my plan, and continued with my performance, engulfing him in arms.

Jal chuke hain badan kayi,
Piya issi aag mein.
Thake huye inn hatho ko,
Dede mere hath me.
Sukh mera le le,
Main dukh tere le lu.
Main bhi jiyu,
Tu bhi jiye ho...
Aaja piya tohe pyaar dun,
Gori baiyyan tope vaar dun...

He pushed my arms away, and got up from the bed to leave for the balcony of my room. But I'm not letting him go that easily.
So, I followed behind him and sang along with the next para of the song.

Hone de re jo yeh julmi hai,
Path tere gao ke
Palko se chun dalungi main,
Kante tere raho ke
Ho...
Lat bikhraye,
Chunariya bichhaye
Baithi hu mai tere liye ho...
Aaja piya tohe pyar dun,
Gori baiyyan tope vaar dun...

By now, Bir was trying hard to not smile. Just few more seconds, and I know, he'd let go of his anger and cheer up.
The last para of the song played, and I hugged him from behind, still singing the lines.

Apni toh jab ankhiyo se,
Beh chali dhaar si,
Khil padi bas ek hansi,
Piya tere pyaar ki,
Ho...
Main jo nahi haari,
Sajan jara socho?
Kis liye, kis liye ho...
Aaja piya tohe pyaar dun,
Gori baiyyan tope var dun...
Kis liye tu, itna udaas?
Sukhe-sukhe honth,
Ankhiyo mein pyaas.
Kis liye, kis liye?
Aaja piya tohe pyaar dun...

And as if in a reflex, Kabir twirled me around and I was instantly in his arms. I know my plan worked perfectly, and Kabir was in a much better mood. 'Mission Pacify Bir' accomplished!

"You really know how to cheer me up, Anu." my hubby dearest said, smiling finally.

"Wo toh hain. And anyway, my Bir and foul mood aren't the best combo. Though, you look really adorable with that scowl on your face." I cheesily said, making Bir's smile go even wider and giving me another 'Aww' moment. Why does he have to be so adorable all the time? I always go mushy when he smiles so sweetly to me.

"Really? I thought you find me more adorable when I smile. Chalo koi nai, I can now try to be more in a foul mood than smile, so that you can get a chance to adore me and maybe uplift my mood in a similar manner, like today."
Ouch! Seems like I turned on my hubby's mischievous side. And there's no way I could turn it off now!

"Na, na, Bir. I like you when you smile, scowls and frowns don't suit my cute hubby. Infact your smile make me go all mushy."
Oops, I just blurted that out, and the change of expression Kabir's face tells me that he won't let this go that easily!

He pulled me closer to himself, his one around my waist, while other caressed my lips. I can easily guess what's coming next!

"Hmm, then I think we should do something for your mushiness. And waise, I don't feel sleepy too. What say?"
Kabir winked at me and I giggled as he always look like a little kid when he winks.

He took that as a yes, and scooped me in his arms; heading for our bed. Making me sit on the bed, he leaned in and soon placed his lips on mine. The soft kiss soon turned passionate and we both know, a long blissful night's awaiting us.

P.S. I know I should've added the English translation for the song lyrics, but that would've taken away the feel of this lovely song.
