Lance shut the door in a huff as he slid his jacket off. His two cats were ready to meet him at the door with big eyes, begging him to lift them up and cuddle them like they were his babies. "DaFuzzy, Lucifurr!" Lance shouted as he pushed Keith's body out of the way to scoop up the balls of fluff into his arms with a giant smile. "My children, I missed you two for the few hours I was out!" He shouted, his eyes closed as he held the two happy pets to his face in delight.

Keith hung his scarf up on the coat rack along with the red jacket lance had kindly brought to him at work. He still felt slightly nervous from their conversation in the park but the twisting feeling in the pit of his stomach had faded over the last few minutes. He held the stacks of files Irene gave to him in his right arm, cradling it delicately as if it were breakable. He glanced over one last time to see Lance laughing as he spun around with the two spawns of Satan, his smile growing wider by each passing second.

'What an idiot, getting so excited to see his pets after a few hours...' Keith sighed to himself before he took a long look around the apartment. There were no boxes in sight, nothing left out on the floor and there were decorations scattering the dark walls now. Lance had managed to change the aura from emptiness into something new that reminded Keith so much of his old home where he had a sibling he could argue with, where he had two loving parents who did everything they could to make him feel as if he were their own. He smiled to himself as a warm fuzzy feeling started to ache in his chest, 'I could get used to this...'

He turned his eyes back down to the file, the fuzziness of his appreciation for Lance was still strong as he flipped open the top folder to find that the first paper had the cause of deaths written about the victims and even their age, height, names, and medical records. Keith felt himself frown slightly as the fuzzy feeling drifted away into the back of his mind. Each victim was killed by something unnatural except for the husband who had died from cardiac arrest.

Connor Walker:
Age- 19
Height- 6"
Hair and Eyes- Brown
Medical Records- Healthy/never went to a doctor office before until he broke his right arm in soccer.
Cause of death- Blunt force trauma

Keith guessed that this was the boy that Antonio and Harry had been taking photos with the other day. Everything seemed right from what he remembered about the appearance and cause of death. The trophy was most definitely the murder weapon for him but the mother and his other brother were a different story. Mary, the only female victim, had actually been killed by a stab wound in her back that pierced straight through the heart, something that would take great skill and strength to do. Caleb, the other son, was executed with a bullet that was now believed to be from a .357 magnum after sustaining injuries to his ribs.

Keith found himself walking over to his sofa as he flipped the page to see the picture of the trophy in a plastic bag in the forensics lab. Below it held the information stating that it was the weapon used to murder Connor. Keith studied the trophy for a moment longer, hoping to notice something new aside from the blood and cracks he saw before at the crime scene.

"Is that from the case?" Lance asked as he walked past Keith with his two cats in tow.

Keith looked over his shoulder to see Lance studying the file with a saddened face, his eyes full of sympathy as he stared at the trophy with blood on it. 'He shouldn't be seeing this, it'll just make him upset...' Keith slammed the file shut and cleared his throat obnoxiously, "That's not any of your concern since you're just a civilian." Keith stated and crossed his arms over his chest as he tried to hold a serious face.

Lance looked at him for a moment, his blue eyes scanning over his body for something but he then let out a frustrated sigh and set the two cats on top of the couch, careful so that they didn't poke holes into the leather with their claws. "You're right I am just a civilian." He mumbled.

"Erm, what?" Keith looked at him as he scooted away from the cats quickly.

Lance walked around the couch and flopped down onto it, making the cats run away in surprise. Their bells rang loudly as they dashed into the opened bedroom. Lance slumped into the couch with a greatly exaggerated sigh, "When I'm not flying planes I'm just a civilian who has to stay home and do normal people stuff!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up.

Keith raised his hand up slowly and awkwardly as he glanced at his files, half wanting to abandon the conversation and go back to working on his case but he didn't want to unleash the fury of Lance McClain. The fury of a McClain could be described in one single word; spicy. He was quite literally that when he was angered, he was a bundle of sass and pure hostility, leaving no room for shenanigans from a second party. Keith could remember one time clear as day when he had first met him, they were college students back then however he had witnessed a very tamed McClain attitude.

Keith stared at Shiro as he ran a hand through his hair awkwardly, worry clearly plastered onto his face. He looked at Keith and then back at the door that read 'McClain' on it. "Uhhh, please be careful of him...he's a little crazy when he gets his alcohol during the weekends." Shiro swallowed down air and fixed the locket hanging around his neck as it ticked away quietly.

Keith slowly nodded at his older friend, 'so just a typical college student then, this will be great.' Keith thought to himself as he shoved his hands into his red jacket pockets, seeking comfort in his awkwardness he was beginning to feel. He never got along well with girls, especially ever since he got kicked out of Jared's house for what happened between him and his foster sister. Keith felt guilt claw at the pit of his stomach at the thought of the incident, he never meant for any of that to happen but people were as unpredictable as mother nature herself. 'I wonder how they're coping with it now...' Keith asked himself as he glanced up to only find himself disappointed at the sight of the white roof above that blocked his view from his only escape from his stressful world.

"So are you re-" Shiro began to ask the quiet man a question until there was a loud shout from inside the dorm room, it was in a foreign language but it took both Shiro and Keith by surprise as they jumped slightly at the girlish yell.

The only part that was coherent was the English in the sentence, "Don't you dare do that on my bed, you two can leave." The voice shouted, it sounded feminine which sent a shiver down Keith's spine as he imagined what the snot of a girl looked like. She probably had long hair, Calvin Klein products, expensive jewelry worth more than Keith's student loans, and her brows were probably filled in like all those other basic women who tried too hard to make society deem them as beautiful.

The door opened and two girls walked out with annoyed looks plastered across their faces but before they passed either of the men they flashed the two of them winks and stuck their tongues out playfully. "Hey boys!" The fake blonde girl giggled as she tried to make her chest look larger than what she actually was. Her breath reeked of liquor, her make up smeared to make her look like a knock off Harley Quinn and she wore the most revealing clothing any girl could. She wore a crop top, short shorts, fishnets and boots that were folded over.

She placed her hands on Keith's cheeks as she pulled him in for a kiss, well it wasn't even that. The only way to describe the disgusting action was like when you're at the zoo trying to feed one of the giraffes and they try to grab at the cups with their lips and tongue. Keith's eyes widened as she tried to make out with him in the hallway, his insides flipping over in disgust at this action as he raised his hands up for her to stop, Shiro too occupied with trying to catch the ginger girl who was nearly passed out drunk, she was barely conscious as she laughed obnoxiously with a loud pig snort.

"Brittany, get you some!" She slurred her words and laughed louder.

Keith managed to push the girl off of him as he began to wipe at his mouth in pure disgust and dismay. "Uhg what the hell!" He exclaimed, the feeling of her tongue on his lips lingered.

The blonde pouted as she grabbed the gingers hand and began to drag her away, "Come on Ashley... They-" she hiccupped loudly, "they don't want to have fun." She finished with a bilious face as she two stumbled down the hallway.

"I thought I told you two bimbo's to leave and-" a brunette man stuck his head out of the door as he yelled. The source of the feminine screeching from earlier now stood in front of Keith and for the first time in forever he was dumbfounded as he stood with his sleeve against his mouth as he locked eyes with the blue eyed beauty in front of him.

"Lance, language." Shiro looked down at the man with a disappointed glare.

'He's so...' Keith couldn't find the correct word to describe the man in front of him. He was perfect in his eyes. He had short cut brown hair that was ruffled all in the right places, he was tall and perfectly fit for his height, the way his face scrunched up into an adorable pout mad Keith wanting to look away out of fear he would blush at the sight. Lance's long eyelashes made those bright teal orbs stand out as if they were the ocean, bright and beautiful, almost mesmerizing to stare at. The way his loose grey T-shirt hung on his body showed that he put effort into staying the way he looked especially the acne free skin he sported however he had faint freckles that were barely visible on his dark skin.

"Shiro, I'm not a kid, do not boss me around." Lance said with a flair as he scoffed slightly. "Now what're you doing here?" He cut to the chase with one quick and simple question that snapped Keith out of his daze.

'Beautiful.' Keith finished his thought and felt his heart skip a beat as Shiro pointed to Keith with a small sigh, "I was introducing you to my friend Keith Kogane, remember?"

Lance looked over at Keith causing the shorter male to instantly tense up under those ocean like eyes he had. They sized him up slowly, studying each and every curve of his body as if he were judging him for something. "Kogane...the name rings a bell but I can't exactly put it-" his eyes finally rested on Keith's hair and his face dropped into one of intense hatred. "Oh mullet, my nemesis!" He hissed.

"What." Keith asked in sudden surprise, his purple orbs meeting Shiro's brown ones in confusion.

Shiro stood with his mouth opened slightly as if he were trying to think of something to say but before he could, Lance slammed the door shut behind him as he pressed Keith against the wall roughly. "Oh I remember that mullet anywhere! Back in 2014 when we were doing state testing, you got one point higher than me making you number one." He poked his index finger into Keith's chest causing anger to flair up within him.

Keith stared up at the Cuban boy in anger as his stood on the tips of his feet to butt heads with him, "Excuse me? I'm sorry if you weren't smart enough to get an extra point!"

Lance was pulled away from Keith roughly as Shiro separated them before anything could happen. "Stop it, both of you. It's childish to be so competitive over something that happened in the past or to even be angry about it." He sighed. He would always give Keith a short lecture as if he were his father but it became tiresome after the first few hundred times.

At the memory Keith slowly set his hand back onto his lap and felt himself wanting to curl up in a ball on the couch and go to sleep like a kid again. "Keith don't you agree?" Lance suddenly asked, cutting into Keith's thoughts about the past.

Keith looked over at the man and found himself staring in awe at the fact he hadn't changed at all look wise from his college years. He still had those faint freckles that were barely seen, his body figure the same, his skin still just as smooth and his eyes just as beautiful as two years ago. Even though he hadn't changed in anyway during college, Keith and evolved into someone who came off as cold-hearted rather than a shy student who didn't understand how to deal with emotional distress, or girls.

"I'm sorry Lance, I wasn't listening..." Keith admitted in an apologetic tone mixed into the small yawn he let out into the air before he turned his body to Lance slowly. "I was too focused on thinking back to when we first met in college, I remembered I had this small crush on you which was a little ridiculous on my part since I had just met you."

Lance looked at him from the corners of his eyes, clearly unamused by how he had ignored his ranting about being a normal person for the last week. "I don't even remember the night." Lance mumbled before he turned his body to face Keith as well, "but I must've been hot if you had a crush on me." He winked.

Keith shrugged slightly, "You were until you shoved me into a wall declaring me as your nemesis. After that you were just Lance to me."

Lance itched his chin awkwardly as he glanced into the kitchen trying to avoid eye contact. "Oh yeah that night." He laughed awkwardly and kept his gaze away from Keith.

Keith felt himself smile a little, Lance hadn't changed so he was still that same college student Keith had always thought was attractive. But now as he stared at him acting awkwardly he realized that he was still crushing on him even after two years. He must've been distracted by work and Lance's obnoxious personality to take note of his own personal feelings. His heart warmed up as he continued to stare at Lance, he was possibly the first person to make him ever feel this way and it meant something great to him; for the moment he could care less about the case, about real life. He only wanted to focus on one thing that meant everything to him currently. Keith leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Lance's waist as he laid across the sofa on his friends lap.

"I don't care about it Lance." Keith mumbled with a large smile as he closed his eyes, "Staying in the past limits you from creating new memories and living happily. I want to create new memories with you now." He whispered.

Slowly Lance placed his hands on Keith's head and upper back gently, he was quiet as he thought to himself. "Okay." He said under his breath, "I'm content with that Keith."

Keith propped himself up on his hands and he looked Lance in the eye. They were happy once again causing Keith to feel fuzzy inside. Lance didn't have to smile to show his emotions all he had to do was look at someone and those blue eyes could convey more emotions than any human expression could. Keith leaned forward to placed his lips onto Lance's and he felt a rush of adrenaline as the two made contact.

The kiss didn't last more than three seconds but it made Keith feel like he wanted to run a marathon, do a thousand push ups or, or something that required him to use an immense amount of physical effort. The way Lances lips felt against his could send waves of shivers down Keith's body, they were so soft and delicate. He could've kept himself there for years but he could read the mood and it definitely didn't fit what he wanted it to be. He wanted it to be intimate so that he could finally relive that night when Lance had tried to make out with him, the night he had marked Keith as his own, that night that sealed the deal.

He slowly pulled away and sat back onto the couch reluctantly as Lance stared at him, mouth ajar in surprise and blue eyes wide. "S-sorry." Keith blushed pink as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly in embarrassment. The kiss was one sided, or at least he thought so until Lance grabbed his tie and yanked him back into him to place a deep kiss onto Keith's lips, his eyes squeezed shut as Keith crashed into him in shock.

Keith couldn't understand what had just happened but he did notice the sounds of rain drumming on the roof above the two, creating a quiet tempo for them to follow. Lance fell forward, pinning Keith onto the sofa roughly and he opened his eyes to show pure passion in them. Keith turned red as his body began to take on a mind of its own. His hands found their way into his short brown hair and grabbed onto the thin locks as Lance made the kiss deeper, sliding his tongue into Keith's mouth. Keith's breath hitched as Lance untucked his shirt to run one of his hands up onto Keith's cold skin, instantly making him shiver from the warmth of his touch on his pale skin. Keith wanted the space between them to disappear and he wrapped his legs around Lance's hips to pull them closer.

Keith loved the soft touch Lance had on his skin. With every movement whether it be a gentle slide up his stomach or even grabbing his lower back to pull his hips up further into Lance's body; each moment made Keith Lance's puppet. He would obey anything Lance wanted to do as if he were being controlled by him with strings. Keith shut his eyes as he deepened the kiss even more, he pressed his mouth against Lance's as much as he could until there was barely any room to breath.

He loved the hot air surrounding them, it made him feel secure, loved and passionate. It was steamy and he could feel his body craving more intimacy with his partner. He wanted to feel every little thing about Lance right down to his last blemish and scar. He wanted to know more about this man that he would be with for the rest of his life.

Lanced hooked his index finger on the rim of Keith's pants and tugged on them slightly as he pulled his mouth away to catch a breath of air. He panted as he stared down at Keith with warm blue eyes, Keith blushing madly beneath him as he stared up at the only person in the world he cared about for the moment. The rain outside kept time for them as they stared at one another in silence, Keith's eyes finding their way to Lance's neck and his heart fluttered seeing his collar bone exposed from his shirt falling down a little bit. Lance caught onto Keith's silent gaze and slowly nodded as he sat up, Keith's legs still around his waist and his hands falling out of the mess of hair.

"You can do it as many times as you want, I won't cover it up." He breathed and slid his shirt up over his head to expose his body to Keith who only grew a brighter pink.

He watched Lance lean back over Keith slowly to stare down at him with a soft expression. Keith swallowed down his sudden nervousness and studied Lance's body. He definitely worked out even if you could barely see it on him, his torso was tanned like the rest of his skin and it had faint freckles just like his cheeks. Keith gulped as he leaned up to place his lips onto Lance's neck but before he could even kiss him or leave a mark like he had done to him, his phone began to ring catching the two for them off guard suddenly.

His phone had fallen onto the floor during their exchange and was now chiming With the default ringtone, Irene's face on it as she smiled at the camera for her contact photo. Lance sighed as he leaned over and grabbed the phone to ignore the call. "Way to ruin the moment Irene." He grumbled before looking down at Keith again. "Let me do it instead, you're nervous and I don't want you to bite too hard." He placed the phone down next to Keith's body before he licked his lips in lust. "Let me show you how to do it properly, this time not drunk." He chuckled and loosened the tie around his neck to open up his shirt to expose his neck and collar bone.

Within an instant he had his face buried into his neck and he was showering him with delicate kisses that made Keith squirm under his touch, his body screamed in joy as he felt Lance grab his hair roughly to tug on. Vrt vrrt vrrrrt. Vrt vrrt vrrrrt. The sound of his phone vibrating sounded before the loud Samsung chime sounded indicating another called. Lance let out a breath of frustration as he snatched up the phone and answered it.

"Hello, I'm sorry but Keith is currently doing stuff and by stuff I mean me. Would you like me to leave a message?" He growled into the phone and Keith felt himself wanting to cry from being deprived of pleasure and also from Lance telling whomever was on the other line that they were being intimate.

"Lance don't say that..." Keith groaned as he covered his face in embarrassment. There was a long pause until he felt Lance poking his side. He looked up to see him holding out the phone with an upset look plastered onto his face. Slowly taking the phone and pressing it against his ear he listened to the sirens in the background, barely audible over the heavy rainfall that would turn to hail soon due to the low temperatures. "...hello?" Keith barely breathed, already knowing what had happened.

Irene's voice was shaky and she was clearly upset over something as she tried to talk to Keith. "Mr.Kogane sir, we need you now...there's another murder by the Pyxis Killer, and like last time..." She paused and the sound of rain echoed into Keith's ear before her quiet voice sounded again, full of emotion, "it's a family."
