I can't believe where I'm at right now. 

Here I am, Aphmau Jessica Ayuzawa, dressed in a Juliet costume, am being dragged up to a classroom by the school idiot, Garroth Usui, who is dressed in a Romeo costume. 

"Where are we going? And let go of me!" I yell at him, but he keeps going. 

Garroth slides a classroom door open. "This looks like a good view of the fireworks." Garroth lets go of my hand and walks in to the empty room. 

"Is it fine to just enter like this?" I ask, hesitant that this might hurt my reputation as Student Council President. 

"It's fine as long as we don't mess it up." Garroth says, sitting down on the windowsill. I walk in, completely red in the face, which he seems to notice. "What's wrong? Ayuzawa..."

"What's with you? There's nothing wrong at all!" I counter back, he shall never know my true feelings. 

"Is that right?" Garroth turns back to the window, gazing out in the distance. "Then I'm glad. Maybe we should go somewhere else. It would be more fun to see the bonfire up close, right?" 

"A-Are you holding back?" I ask him. 

"About the fireworks? I don't care too- " Garroth looks back at me. 

"That's not what I'm talking about! Are you-" I look down, the redness on my cheeks growing. I look back up, continuing my thought. "Have you been holding yourself back all this time because of me?"

Garroth looks up, shocked at what I said. "Why do you think that?" Garroth stands, walking towards me.

"N-No reason..." I back up against the windowsill. "I-It's just I sorta thought that maybe that was the case..." 

"Huh, how perspective of you."

"So you have been holding back!" I confront him. "What have y-"

"How cruel are you, Ayuzawa?" Garroth asks me, placing a hand over mine and making my face go even redder. "Are you trying to make me say it?" I look down, not wanting to look into his blue eyes. "Then if you answer my question, I'll answer yours too." 

"What?" 

"What makes you care about me?" I look down, wanting to hide my blush. 

"What kind of question is that? I-I guess my answer is I don't know." I close my eyes, taking a deep breath. 

"You don't know?" Garroth sighed and looked back at me. "Then did you know that at times like this it's impossible for you to lie?"

"W-What are you talking about?" My face growing redder and redder at how close we are. 

"Aphmau why is your face so red?" Garroth leans in.

"It's not red at all!" My eyes began to well with tears. 

"Are you nervous?" 

"N-No I'm not."

"Aphmau aren't you the one whose holding back." My eyes grow wide, tears streaming down my face. Suddenly, Garroth begins to pet me like a dog. "I'm sorry, I went too far." Garroth begins to walk away. 

"I am holding back." I admit, grabbing Garroth's arm so he can't leave. "I've been holding back. Why did it turn out this way? Why did it have to be you?!" I close my eyes and yell, the tears still streaming. "I don't get it at all! You're a pervert and all you do is piss me off! You're still running ahead of me and making it look so easy! You make fun of me all the time!"

"Aphmau calm down!" Garroth tries to stop me, but I keep going. 

"This is all your fault! If I hadn't done that stupid game I wouldn't of realized the truth is I've always wanted to hold your hand!" Garroth's eyes widen at my confession. "Just when I think I've got you figured out it's like you lose me again! What are you thinking? I-I just don't get it! I don't understand why my heart won't stop racing when I'm around you or why I have to get so lonely when we're apart! Why are you the only one that can make me feel like this." I lean my forehead against his chest. "Stupid Garroth. Why do you always have to pick a fight with me?" 

Garroth takes his hand away from mine. "You really are cruel, Aphmau." He takes my hand back and interlocks our fingers. "How long are you planning on making me hold back? I pick fights with you  because I want to see your reactions. Normally you're the hard headed Student Council President, but some times you'll look cute or surprised or you'll be completely worked up over nothing. You ask me if I've been holding back?" Garroth raises his hand to rest it on my cheek, making me look up at him. "I've held back so many times that I can't give an answer." I look down, my eyes once again filling with tears. "Just like right now." I look back up with surprised eyes. 

The first firework goes off just as Garroth's lips touch mine. 

This kiss wasn't like the other kiss from a couple months ago. Why? Because this time I wanted it. I kissed back, and the two of us closed our eyes as the fireworks went off behind us. I raise my hand to hold his as we continue to kiss, showing all our love for each other. 

We separate to find both of our faces glowing bright red as we rest our foreheads against each other. I drop my hand from his, but his still stays. 

"Do you wanna know what I'm thinking right this very second, Aphie?" I look up at him, my hazel eyes showing hope.

"I love you, Aphmau." I blush and look away, not wanting to show any sign of weakness. 

As we walk away and out of the classroom, Garroth grabs my hand and interlocks our fingers. "I really hate you." I say blushing. 

"True to form. You're too cool, Aphmau." 

"Stupid Garroth." 

A couple days later, Aaron is seen running the streets to school, talking to himself. "I know now that I gotta make myself into a better man. After all, I'm going up against that guy." 

"I'm not 'that guy'. The name's Garroth." Garroth mumbles annoyed.

"And I'm definitely going to beat him." Aaron returns as he continues to run to school. "G'morning Aphmau!" 

"WHY ARE YOU COMING TO SCHOOL EATING BREAD CRUMBS?" Aphmau yells at him, after all she is still as strict as ever. 

"Hey Aphie! I love you!" Garroth walks up, making her face soften and blush a bit. Garroth looks back at Aaron and smirks, giving him the look of She's mine so back off, Dingus.

Worth the wait? 

I think so.

I had to rewatch the entire ending of the show and the epilogue to get this just right.
