Frosty air, blades on ice,
Pirouettes and graceful gliding.
Invigorating cold air,
A truly delightful evening.

Skating was the only sport she enjoyed.

So, when she heard they were going ice skating, she was equally overjoyed and apprehensive.

When they got to the rink, she was pleasantly surprised that she could not only keep her balance, but also glide around rather decently.

There were girls half her age performing pirouettes in the centre of the rink. She watched them in wonder. What wonderful talent, what fabulous skill!

Her cheeks and the tip of her nose went pink in the cold air, but she loved every bit of that evening.

She loved it when her new friends came up to her and they talked and laughed at nothing in particular. She loved it when she skated up to her friend, who was new at this activity, and encouraged her and guided her for a while.

She loved the feeling of the cold air whipping past her as she went around the rink trying hard not to lose her balance, while also attempting to skate with the prefect movements she had been taught.

It was a truly delightful evening.
