Chapter Eleven: You two could date!
Marcus
I gave Trevor a pillow and a blanket.
"Thanks man."
"No problem, I'm sorry that you have to sleep on the floor." I told Trevor. "I'd give you my bed but I'm using it."
"It's alright, I'm use to sleeping on the floor, anyways." Trevor spread the sheets across the floor.
"Oh yeah, you guys had to sleep on the ground every night when you traveled."
"Yeah, and train tickets are too expensive."
"Oh, they finished washing your clothes, there over there." I pointed to the dresser.
Jason
"So your first name is Thomas, what your last?" I asked Thomas who was spreading his blankets on the floor.
"Hayes. Are those my clothes?"
"Yeah, they washed them. Mine is
Grant."
"I know, I remember seeing it somewhere."
"Oh. How long have you been traveling alone for?"
"Well my mom died when I was twelve, so four years."
"So you're sixteen?"
"Yeah."
"Your the same age as Zarah, you two could date!" I said as the realization hit me.
Thomas looked down and smiled.
"Why are you smiling?"
"Funny you said that, I like her."
"Does she like you back?"
"I think so, but I don't wanna rush it. Her mom just died, so I'll wait a little."
"You're considerate and smart."
"Thanks."
Alanna
"Ooh, they washed my clothes. That was fast." Zarah said. She sounded shocked, but then again they aren't use to having house slaves.
"Oh yeah, they did."
Zarah grabbed her clothes and put them in her backpack. "You like making dresses?"
I smiled. "Yeah."
"They look good, I'd buy one but we only have ninety dollars."
Then I got an idea. "Maybe I could teach you how to make them. Then we could have a business."
Zarah smiled. "That's a great idea, I was always interested in making dresses."
This made me happy, to finally have help with these dresses. If I can make a dress in three days, train Zarah to make a dress in three days then we would make twice the profit. Chick-Ching!.
Allen
Sarah and I were standing on the porch in the front of the house we are talking to the renovation people. We told them that we need four more bedrooms and three more bathrooms. They said that they would give us four bedrooms and four bathrooms for $4,500.
That would be the total cost for the whole renovation. They said that they could do this in four weeks and they want half the money upfront.
"So $2,250?" I asked.
Oscar nodded. "Yep."
I grabbed my check book from my pocket. I knew I would need it. I wrote a check to for $2,250 out to Oscar then handed it to him.
Oscar took the check. "Thank you, I'll have my men here tomorrow and we can start renovating your house."
"Ok, thank you. See you tomorrow."
Oscar waved, then got in his carriage and left. Sarah and I walked into the house. At dinner everyone joined us, it's nice to have more company, especially if it's family. This is a chance for me to get to know my nieces and nephews a lot more. They'll be living with us until they grow up.
"Mom, dad, guess what? Zarah is interested in making dresses." Alanna said.
I looked at Zarah. "Really?" This is surprising. This could be great, Alanna and Zarah working together. It's good that these to are getting along.
Zarah nodded. "Yeah, I looked at one of her dresses and I felt infatuated! Plus I've always wanted to make dresses, I just never got the chance too." She sounded sad when she said that last part. Could Scott be the reason why she couldn't make dresses?
I smiled. "It's good that you too are using your talents to work together."
"You guys had to have some type of experience to survive in the forest. If you want improve a little more, I would be happy to help." Jason said. I had no idea that Jason was training himself out there. Now it makes sense, that all he's been doing all this time. He's not wasting his time, his making himself better.
I made a mental note in my head to talk to Jason sometime. Not tomorrow though, I'll be busy killing Scott and making him suffer. I smirked at that, I'll talk to Jason when I get back from Pennsylvania.
Eliana
"Mom, I'm bored. Can we go to the library?"
She smiled at me. "Come on." She got up from the couch.
We walked to the stables, saddled our horses up and got on them.
"Ready?" Adele asked.
"Yeah."
We followed the path, it was about a ten minute ride.
"So what kind of books are you going to get?"
"Books? I can get more than one?"
Adele chuckled. "Of course Eliana."
I smiled. "My favorite books are realistic fiction, and historical fiction. I may get a few of those." I told her. "Are you getting a book?"
She shook her head. "No."
"Why not?"
"Books distract me, and I'm constantly cleaning the house. So I have no time for them."
"Aww, well that's to bad."
"I know."
We arrived at the library and I looked for some books. I grabbed six and had check them out. Then I put them in my bag, mom took us to a cafe.
There we talked and mom let me order a coffee and a cookie. Mom ordered a coffee and a muffin. I started to read one of my books.
"Nope, put them away. We're talking right now, you can read them later." Adele said.
"Mom." I whined. I wanted to read them, now.
Adele shot me a look but didn't say anything.
I knew what she meant. So I closed the book and put it back in my bag.
"Thank you. So what do you think of this place?"
"It's nice, decorations and everything. How come we don't come here often?"
"Money, we don't have a lot to come here often."
"Right, I forgot."
"Trust me if we had the money, I'd come here at least once a week." She told me.
"That's sounds nice."
The waiter came back with food and drinks. I took a sip from my coffee, it was delicious.
"It's good right?"
I nodded. "The best."
We giggled.
"That cloud looks like a ballon!" Zarah said as she pointed.
I looked at it. "Yep, I see it."
"Me too, that one looks like a boat." Adele said.
"Yeah it does." I said.
"And it has a person in it." Zarah said.
I never really like cloud watching until one time I joined my mom and sister. Ever since I started liking it, every time they did it, I would join them. They didn't mind though. I know that my sister and mom have done it a lot of times. I've only done it three times.
Scott
I woke up and ate some breakfast. I'm glad that no one has called me today, finally people are leaving me alone. It's nice to get some peace and quiet around here, that's how it's been ever since I killed my wife and kids left me.
I need to go look out for a job, since I got fired from my last one. I'll look tomorrow.
After breakfast I fed my horse, and ignored Adele's. I remember they day that I did something that I regretted.
"Scott, do you take Adele as your wife?"
"I do,"
"Adele, do you take Scott as your husband?"
"I do,"
"You may kiss the bride!"
Then we kissed, I thought I was happy but after Eliana I changed.
I realized something, my life would have had a better outcome if I had stayed single. So I started drinking to forget my regret, I know it's not going to help. But I drank anyways, then I became angry and took my anger out on my family. That's about it.
