Chapter 20- End
I reappeared in the hall where I had been before for the Ball. It was still full of people; the Ball seemed to continue as if nothing happened. I searched for Blood and Vivaldi, wanting to get away from them, but they found me first.
"Finally, we found you again," said the Queen. Blood was beside her, smirking as always. They were the ones who send their faceless to kill me. They were my murderers. And they wanted to assassinate me again. I felt a wave of rage.
"You cannot esca-" started Blood. But I punched him in the face with all my strength. Ouch! Now my hand hurt. The mad Hatter gave me a "What the hell" face, holding his jaw.
"That was for murdering me," I announced. Oh, that felt good. Really good. "And also for what you did to Jack. And for when you tried to kill me again."
"How dare you! Guards! Kill her!" yelled the Queen.
"Now, that's not going to work, you know," I said to Vivaldi. "There's a rule that you can't kill role-holders at events like this." Elliot had told me about it. I can't believe I hadn't thought about it before.
The Queen looked at me with rage, but still stopped her soldiers. I turned my back to the angry couple with elegance, and walked away. I found Jack and Elliot at the entrance, talking. Their faces lit up when they saw me. I smiled.
"Are you all right?!" asked Jack and Elliot at the same time. I laughed.
"Yes, I am better than I have ever been," I answered. "I remember everything now."
Jack smiled, and Elliot gave me a hug.
"I can't believe it's you..." the bunny-eared man whispered. "When Blood told me before the Ball, I wasn't sure if it was true... I am so happy that you are alive again."
"Me too, Elliot. I've missed you." He let me go.
"I've already told Jack everything," continued Elliot. Jack nodded, understanding my true nature as a role-holder.
I smiled to my two friends and took out of my pocket my glass vial. I looked at it for a second, then smashed it on the ground, breaking it in a thousand pieces.
"Does that mean you don't want to go home anymore?" demanded hesitantly Jack. I took each of the man's hand and lead them away from the Ball.
"I am home."
-The End- :)
I hope you enjoyed it.
Edit: To my new readers, there was originally a sequel posted in this book, but I've deleted it because it was bad.
