Beijing is deceivingly cold outside the shelter of the train and subway stations. We don mitts, scarves and hats to brave the walk to my friend's workplace. The temple style entrance stands tall and security guard prevent our entry.

We're early.

McDonalds is our loiter spot until classes release. No wifi, but good people watching. 

A woman scoops up empty cups and fills them with her own drink. She sets up the tray to give the illusion she ordered. Perhaps cold and homeless. But she whips out canisters of soup and food. On the second floor, the staff don't notice.
