Koh Kret
Koh Kret, dissimilar to Thai tourist islands, is quiet, unassuming. Home to Mon people, markets and unique pottery.
Frank, our Thai host, treats us to fruit, ice pops, and bamboo-wrapped shrimp. He works in medicine, trained in herbal. He is interested in Canadian customs: work, weather, religion, weddings.
People whiz by on bicycles. The six kilometer loop can be easily walked, excluding the heat. We duck into a garden, few flowers in bloom. The King's portrait stands proud.
Frank treats us to more drinks, one housed in a decorative pot becomes his gift to us.
Where to put it?

If you're curious about the pot, so far it has survived Thailand, Myanmar, two trips to Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Nepal and a road trip through some of Australia's bumpiest roads. And yes, I'm that behind posting these drabbles. Thanks for reading!
