Rotary telephone stands that entertained me two years ago are replaced by youth holding cheap smart phones, compliments of China.

Wifi emerges.

Historic buildings once entombed by barbed wire fences are resurrected.

Fancy new housing developments grow.

We play guess the decade with buses and cars en route to the reopened Aung San museum. Recording devices prohibited.

The home belonged to Burma's assassinated democratic leader and his family. Daughter Aung San Suu Kyi fights to pull the country out of decades of oppression in the upcoming elections.  

Her crib sits empty as does his chair.

Welcome to Myanmar! Sorry for the delay in posting. This wasn't the chapter I intended to open with but I ended up scrapping the other. The first picture actually what that building was like in 2013, but by 2015 when we visited workers were tearing down that barbed wire fence.
