Curiosity
In a small town frequented by more Thais than foreigners, we draw attention. People are curious instead of overrun by falangs.
They ride alongside us,
Help when we're lost.
Wish us "Chok dee!*"
One man asks if I work in Thailand or am visiting.
As in China, Ethan draws a crowd. He's delayed after returning the bike. A Thai family wants group pictures with him.
'They think you're a movie star,' I tease.
He laughs and decides it's the curls.
A Thai man points out Laos and the two coloured rivers, less pronounced at dusk. The Mekong and Moon merge.
