Well...I changed my mind.
This chapter will be about Alex!!!
And someone else!!!
Comment on the ghost about which person you want me to write a flashback chapter about.
Except Kirstie!
Hers will be later on.
(P.S: The next one will be about Mitch...well, I won't spoil it for you.)
👻
ON TO THE STORY
Also...listen to the song.
It's amazing.
Alex hated himself.
He really did.
He hoped that Mitch would have a meeting the next day when his father told him bad news.
Mitch would no longer attend his therapy sessions because of his health issues.
Alex was absolutely heartbroken, but he couldn't but realize that he deserved it. He didn't deserve to have the love Mitch gave to him.
He didn't deserve to know Mitch at all for that matter.
Alex sighed, getting ready to walk upstairs when the doorbell rang. Alex raised an eyebrow, walking back downstairs to open the door while thinking of the best ways to get Mitch to like him again.
How do I do that?
He opened the door and was surprised to see the person on the other side, clearing his throat and taking a deep breath before he spoke.
"Ma-Mario?"
"Alex," Mario mumbled, looking down at the ground before he looked uo, glaring at the man in front of him. "Congratulations."
Alex raised an eyebrow, about to ask what Mario meant by that as he opened the door. Mario pushed him back a bit, shaking his head before he spoke again.
"You created a new kind of stupid, Alex. This is the kind of stuoid that was easily avoidable, but yoy did it anyway. Honestly, how can one person be so stupid? A monkey is smarter than you, Alex. You're just soooo...ugh. how dare you?"
Alex was about to ask what Mario meant before the other man shook his head, putting a hand up before continuing.
"You hurt him, Alex. He did nothing wrong yet you hurt him. You hurt my friend. How dare you? He'll never even be the same after this. You're the one who did the most damage."
Alex sighed once more before he spoke, looking back at Mario as he chose his words carefully.
"It was between him and Scott. Of course I chose the one that was best for me. It was an act of sacrifice."
"Sacrifice?" Mario asked, scoffing before he spoke again. "Let me tell what a sacrifice is, Alex. I was in a relationship that was loveless. Throughout that relationship, the person I was with not happy with me and I knew that. It was hard to let that person go, but it was their happiness over mine. I sacrificed my happiness so they could help me and Mitch helped me through it and I am helping him through this? Do you know why?"
Silence.
Alex was about to answer when Mario slammed his hand on the table next to the door, tears rolling down his cheeks as he glared at the man who broke Mitch's heart.
The one who broke Mitch.
"I love Mitch more than anything in this life and I would choose his happiness over mine every time. Mitch, he's the best thing in our lives amd the fact that you broke him angers me. You do not deserve him and I will try my best to figure out what why he still loves you. You don't deserve him."
Alex felt his jaw drio, trying his best to comprehend the last sentence. He couldn't believe it.
Mitch...loves me?
"Mitch-"
"Do you know what? No. Don't you say his name. In fact, don't mention him at all," Mario interrupted, pushing Alex back once more before walking over to the front door with all his anger slowly dissolving as he walked to the front door. He opened it and looked back at Alex, tears in his eyes as he shook his head. "Congratulations."
With that said, Mario slammed the door and left Alex with the truth and even though it hurt, Alex felt like he had no choice but to realize that Mario just served him. Alex looked down at the ground, tearing up as he thought about the boy he hurt yet he loved so much. At that moment his phone rang and he picked it up, not even checking to see who it was.
"Al-Allie."
"Scotty?! What's the matter, baby?"
Alex cared about Mitch and he does want that back, but right now, Scott needs him. All he heard was Scott's deep sobs and quiet whimpers until he heard what Scott had to yell, his heart dropping at the news.
"My medicine was stolen, Allie. I-I ne-need to go to rehab. I'm scared."
~~~
Kevin is a smart man.
When he chose to be.
This past couple of weeks wasn't exactly his smartest, especially when it came to the topic of his family. He would never forgive himself for leaving his family when they needed him the most, especially his son. Mitch needed him yet he left at the time when Mitch needed him the most.
He really was a horrible father.
"You better explain why you're here, Kevin. If you don't give me a good explanation, I will file for a divorce and make sure that I will get everything under our name. You better have thought of a good one."
Kevin nodded, feeling Avi's stare burn into his skin as he sat down on the bed that he slept in for twenty years, the same bed were Mitch used to sleep in if the 'boogeyman' was trying to capture him in the middle of the night, the same bed were everything else happened and both him and Avi kept it as a secret between the both of them.
The bed were Avi thought he was lying down with the man who loved him forever yet he left at the worst time possible.
Pathetic.
"Um, I just needed time. I did. I had to get away for a whi-"
"That doesn't mean that you get to leave your child, Kevin. I want to get away for a while, but my kid comes first," Avi interrupted, picking up a picture by his bedside. He shoved it in Kevin's direction, crossing his arms as Kevin looked over it. "Look at it. Actually look at it and tell me what you see besides the obvious."
It was a picture of Kevin and Avi on their wedding day, both of them laughing at whatever Kevin did that was funny. They were dancing and even though they were laughing, you could see the love they had for each other on their eyes, their body language. It was like time was frozen at that moment yet they were the ones that had control of what they did and what they wanted to do.
Their love was theirs and theirs forever.
Until now.
"I see...I see..."
"What?"
Come on, Kevin. Say something smart.
"Our love."
Good, good!
Avi scoffed as he shook his head, taking the picture back. He put it in its rightful place before he glared at his husband once more, shaking his head before he spoke.
"It's more than our love, Kevin. It's our commitment, it's our sadness, it's our anger, it's our sickness. It's the times when we make love out and the moments we have each other until we lose our memories. It's the tears we shed and the laughter we have. It's the reality of what love is supposed to be and if you see that photo and just see love then you ignored what couples go through in order to love. When you ignore that, then you ignored everything that couples endure that make them love each other more in the end. Get out of my house, Kevin."
But Kevin refused.
He grabbed Avi's arms, which made the breaded man fight back as hard as he could. Avi grunted, glaring at Kevin more as he tried to escape.
"Let me go, you insufferable je-"
Kevin kissed Avi as hard as he could, feeling his husband practically melt into his arms. All stayed silent instead of the couple, the both of them falling in love all over again. Mitch walked into the room to ask Avi a question when he saw his parents kissing, smiling softly as he turned back to his room.
He'll wait a bit because all that matters is his parents falling in love again.
And be would be there every step of the way, even if he doesn't get to love the person he wants to be with.
~~~
(Suicide attempt)
Mitch wanted to be happy.
That was it.
Happiness.
What does it mean to be happy?
Does it mean not fearing for your life every time you go outside?
Mitch sighed to himself, breathing heavily as he turned to his left. the bathtub was mocking him, making fun of him as he thought about what his life has gone to.
Absolutely nothing.
Mitch turned over, his crutches falling over to the other side of him as he turned the cold water knob on. He picked up his crutches and stood up as carefully as he could, grabbing his bottle of pills and bottle of Jack Daniel's he stole from Avi. His hands shook as he put the pills and whiskey down, the cold bath water now filling up to the top of the tub.
Mitch hated the cold, but if this is one of things leading to his death, so be it.
He could bear it.
Mitch turned off the water, sticking his foot in the cold water and gasped when the coldness attacked his foot.
He didn't care.
He sat down on the toilet and continued from that point on, his body slipping into the water easier than Mitch expected too. He took deep breaths, trying his best not to scream at how cold the water was. It took some time, but Mitch was able to adapt to the coldness that was attacking his body.
Now onto round two.
Mitch snuck his hand over the side of the bathtub, his bottle of pills being where they needed to be for him to execute his plan. He opened the bottle as carefully as he could and smiled when he managed to open it with ease, shivering at the cold water attacking his body. He took a deep breath as he took out the first pill...
And swallowed it.
One became four.
Drink from the whiskey.
Four became eight.
Another drink.
Eight to twelve.
Drink.
Twelve to...well, Mitch lost count. He didn't really know anymore.
The pill bottle fell from his hand and the Jack Daniel's bottle fell in the tub, the brownish liquid making the clear water look disgusting and unsanitary.
But Mitch didn't care.
He was breathing slowly, his eyes closed shut as he allowed his last few moments of life leave him slowly yet easily.
Everything was blurry.
"Kevin, come quick! Mitchy!"
Why was there no more water?
"Mitch! Stay with me, buddy."
The water was gone yet Mitch was brought down on a soft surface, his mind barely comprehending what was going on.
"My baby boy, Mitchy. Stay alive, baby. Sept, huit. Sept, huit."
The next thing Mitch heard was the door being slammed open, a loud voice and gruff voice demanding people to do stuff. He heard crying and shushing as people picked him uo, putting him into a different kind of surface.
It was weird.
And he hated it.
"Stay conscious, buddy. Don't let go."
In no time at all, Mitch woke up to a pain in his stomach and his body overall. He looked around to see a heart monitor by his right and an I.V pole to his left. Avi was asleep, his hand in Mitch's. There were tears tracks on his cheeks and Mitch couldn't help but tear up at his father's despair.
He caused this.
"Poppy?"
Avi woke up immediately, tearing up when he saw those brown eyes he loved so much. He hugged Mitch tightly, crying silently as he thanked God for giving him another chance with his son.
"I don't know what I would have done without you, Mitchy. Sept, huit."
"Sept, huit."
Avi hugged Mitch even tighter as Mitch couldn't figure out why he couldn't just die.
He was done with life and he hated how it was not going the way he wanted it to.
He just wants it to end.
Why?
So he could find out what happiness is.
A/N: Oh, boy. This is getting very, very interesting. Please vote! It's very, very important that you do so. Anyways, I hope that yoy all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
