Well...this chapter will bring back some memories.
And not good ones either.
Be careful, loves.
WARNING: blood, death, graphic descriptions
Mitch nearly jumped when his phone began to ring loudly, looking at the number with confusion. It was the police station, making the poor boy wonder what he did wrong.
Has he committed any crimes lately? He doesn't think so.
Unless you consider being cute 24/7 a crime, but Mitch would have been in jail since he was a baby if that was the case.
Mitch laughed to himself and answered, clearing his throat before he spoke in his quiet voice.
"Hello, this is Mitchell Olusola."
"Mi-Mitch. It's me, Sc-Scott."
Mitch widened his eyes, wanting to terminate the call yet something was telling him not to do that. He gulped nervously, taking deep breaths before talking again.
"What do you want? We're not friends anymore."
"I know and I deserve that. There's something I need to tell you besides the fact that for being in jail."
"What? That you're a sadistic jerk that ruined my life forever?! Scott, I'm scared of everything. I'm surpirsed that I'm speaking because I'm scared of that too. What...do...you...want?!"
Scott sobbed on the other line, wanting a of sympathy from someone but he knows he doesn't deserve it. He hurt someone he really loved and cared for. He deserved to be in jail.
"I just...don't feel sorry for me for saying this, but...Mitch, I have schizophrenia. And I'm not going to get better."
Mitch gasped, not knowing how to react as he processed the news. Tears leaked in his eyes as he remembered...
The sudden mood changes.
Scott's violence towards him.
Scott's breakdowns.
How Scott missed so much school in one month.
How Scott had the scars over his eyes that looked like a cat scratched him.
Scott couldn't any of that, which meant...
"You couldn't control stabbing me, uh?"
Mitch heard Scott sob once more, which caused him to sob himself. The old friends cried together, Scott taking a deep breath before he talked.
"Yes, but that doesn't mean that I should have stabbed you. I know when my episodes are happening yet I decided to have a knife I my hand when I was having a violent rage. Mitch, don't forgive me because of my disorder."
"But you didn't mean to. You couldn't control it."
Silence.
Then...
"I couldn't, but Kirstie could've."
With that said, Scott hung up. Mitch held onto his phone for a few seconds until he sighed, looking at his mirror to take a good look at his blond hair. His roots were starting to grown back and he honestly didn't like it, standing up as he realized that he is going to start a new chapter in his life.
Suffering from kidney failure, a short love affair that broke his heart, Avi dying...
It's time for a change.
Mitch walked into the bathroom, taking a good look at himself before he picked up his shaver. He looked at it for a little while until he took a deep breath, running his hand through his hair one last time (a/n: Hamilton ref😂) before he turned on the shaver.
It's the start for new beginnings, Mitch. Hair is no big deal.
Mitch pushed up and watched as the blond locks fell down from his to the ground. In less than four minutes, he was done and had a new look. He smiled and was about to leave when his phone rang again, answering it quickly without looking at the caller I.D.
"Hello, this is Mit-"
The caller on the other end was inconsolable and once they controlled themselves and told Mitch what they had to say causing him to drop his phone and break down in tears.
~~~
Alex sighed as he drove up to the Olusola household, walking up with a sudden urge of confidence when Mitch ran out of the house, tears streaming down his face. The now bald teenager fell onto Alex, causing him to 'hmph' and the both of them to fall.
"Mitch, what's wro-"
"He's dead! He's dead! My friend is dead!"
Alex rose an eyebrow and was about to ask what Mitch meant until he looked at the blade head, smiling sadly as he saw a scar on the adorable forehead. Alex frowned once more as he helped Mitch up, his heart breaking at the sobs escaping his mouth.
"Who's de-"
"Just drive me to Kirstie's house, please. I want to see him one more time befure they take him to the morgue."
Alex nodded, putting an arm around Mitch carefully so the younger male wouldn't flinch. Mitch subconsciously snuggled close to Alex, tears still running down his cheeks as he tried to believe the unbelievable.
Why did it have to be him?
Alex drove to Kirstie's house, his eyes widening at the sight in front of him. There were was an ambulance, a police car, K-9s, and neighbors from almost every house on the street. Angelica was there, crying her eyes out as a bodybag was brought out. Mitch practically screamed, making Alex jump and wonder what was wrong with Mitch as the bald male ran out of the car. Mitch went up to Angelica, shaking his head as he sobbed loudly.
"It's fake, Angelica. It has to be."
"It's not, Mitch. His throat was slit, honey. I'm so sorry."
Mitch shook his head, walking over to the person with the bodybag and asked them if he could see the body. Alex was out of the car by the time, his heart racing as he walked up to Mitch. The person raised an eyebrow, not knowing if they should open the bag or not.
"Are you sure, sir? This body is horribly sta-"
Mitch nodded abruptly, causing the bodybag to nod themself and open the bag the bag slowly, not expecting Mitch's reaction. Mitch screamed, falling on his knees as he sobbed loudly.
There in the bag was Jeremy, his eyes widening open and his throat cut open with other stab wounds near his clavicles and on his face. Alex went on his knees, hugging Mitch tightly as the bodybag person walked away. Alex looked back to see a policeman frantically running out, his eyes widening as he walked up to Angelica and told her something that her scream herself and almost fall on her knees. Alex made Mitch, the both of them walking over to see what was wrong.
"Alex, my friend is gone. One of my friends is gone. He's gone, he's gone, he's gone."
Alex shushed Mitch gently, tearing up as he thought about Jeremy. Jeremy was so kind and nice and didn't deserve this. Who did this to him? Alex was going to find out.
"-think it's her. I'm so sorry, Ms. Maldonado. I know that's not what you want to he-"
"Just arrest her, please," Angelica interrupted, pointing to Mitch when Alex came over. "She hurt this sweet boy and I refuse for her to hurt anyone else!"
"We can't do that, ma'am."
"Why?!"
"Because Kirstin ran away and we don't know where to find her. I'm sorry."
(A/N: If y'all get confused, this is happening outside, not inside. This will make more sense when you get to the candle part.)
"Thank you for everyone who here is here for Mitchell Olusola's vigil. Although he is not ill or dying, this is a message for anyone who is considering doing drugs or is doing drugs at that moment. Please know the dangers of drugs and know how horribly people are affected because of this. Let's have a moment of silence."
Scott looked around to see people crying, his heart breaking as he teared up himself. He didn't even realize how hard he was crying until he felt Connie's soft hand wipe a tear, tears in her own eyes as she kept her hand on her son's cheek. Scott leaned into her touch, crying quietly as he wondered why he ever did that to Mitch.
He hated himself daily because of it.
"Mitchell's parents have some words they'll like to say."
Scott watched as Kevin helped Avi up, a tissue in Avi's hand as held onto Kevin's arm. The couple walked up and everyone could tell they were absolutely distraught because of the event of them sending their son to rehab. It made everyone in the room tear up.
Besides Kirstie, of course.
"Before I start, I would just like to say Mitch would feel so loved if he was here," Kevin spoke quietky, his voice gravely as he looked at the crowd. He took a deep breath, sighing before speaking. "Mitch is the sweetest kid ever. He is smart, kind, mature, reasonable, amazing. He just didn't make smart decisiona, but now he is getting the help he needs. He deserves to get better."
Scott heard Kirstie scoffed, wanting to smack her across the head even though he knew she'll hurt back. Scott turned his attention back to Kevin and Avi, seeing that Kevin was trying his best not to cry on stage.
"He's just so amazing. He didn't deserve this pain."
Kevin backed off, putting a hand on Avi's back as Avi walked up to the microphone, wiping his eyes once more before speaking.
"I'm going to tell a story. When Mitch was in fourth grade, it was Drug Free week and he wore a red wristband for that entire week. He told me everyday that week that he would never do drugs and that he'll let his body stay happy and healthy. He told me after that week that he might lose that wristband, but he promised himself that he will wear an imaginary red wristband for the rest of is life. I know that my baby boy would never do drugs unless someone forced him to. Mitch is smarter than that. My baby boy is smarter than tha-"
Avi broke down in tears, wiping his eyes as Kevin walked over and wrapped his husband in his arms carefully as he cried himself, the both of them walked down the steps. The pastor frowned, clearing his throat before he spoke again.
"Please light your candles and sing Amazing Grace for Mitchell."
Everyone did as they were told, Amazing Grace being sung as people cried about the sweet boy that impacted their lives. Scott closed his eyes and sung quietly, trying his best to ignore Kirstie tapping his shoulder.
"Scott, let's go. I'm bored."
"Good for you. Leave. Mitch is more important than your needs."
"You're going to get it later for saying that."
Scott shrugged his shoulders, honestly not caring what Kirstie did to him.
Mitch was more important and worth of his time.
Kirstie wasn't.
A/N: Well...I'll explain more of Jeremy's death, but I am sure you guys know why Kirstie killed him. If you don't...you'll find out.;) Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you.:)
