Four

Well...here's the chapter I promised!

Thank you for doing that me, everyone.

I just feel like this book is so underrated and that it deserves better.

Anyway...

Comment away?

Saying that Alex was mad is an understatement.

He is infuriated.

Scott, his boyfriend that will never do any harm to anyone, was pressured to do drugs because of that Mitch kid. How could anyone hurt Scott?

Scott was kind.

Sweet.

Loving.

Nowhere near violent.

So why was Mitch the one in therapy and not Scott? Scott deserved it more than anything. He never once hurt anyone.

Right?

Alex looked up when Avi came in, his hand holding Mitch's tightly. Mitch looked scared, his hands trembling as he tripped a bit. His hand went on his right leg, Avi stopping to make sure he was okay. Mitch looked at his leg, balking immediately so he wouldn't go inside. Avi sighed sadly, waiting patiently for his son to move.

"Mitch, I know you don't want to be here, but you need to be, okay? We'll do whatever you want after this therapy session. You deserve it."

Alex scoffed silently.

Yeah right.

Mitch seemed to ponder on Avi's proposal for a couple seconds before nodding his head, his lip quivering a bit. Avi hugged him tightly, kissing his temple before placing a gentle hand on Mitch's shoulder. The bearded man slowly took his hand away, walking away before Mitch could catch up. Mitch sighed, tears gathering in his eyes before entering the room. For some reason, Alex felt his heart break for Mitch.

In fact, he felt more sorry for Mitch than he did for Scott.

Why?

His thoughts of angry came back, his empathy slowly dissolving into want for vengeance.

Mitch hurt Scott.

Mitch pressured Scott to do drugs.

Mitch is the reason why Scott was in rehab.

Mitch deserved to be stabbed.

Mitch deserved to be scared of everything.

Mitch deserved to go through the pain he put Scott through.

And Alex wanted him to know that.

Before he could stop himself, Alex opened the door and came in angrily, slamming it behind him. Before his father even had a chance to speak, Alex spoke first.

"How...dare...you?!"

Alex stomped up to Mitch, grabbing a hold of the smaller boy's shoulder to make him stand up. Alex's father widened his eyes, unable to speak as his son shook the young patient uncontrollably.

"HOW DARE YOU HURT MY BOYFRIEND?!"

Mitch began to scream, the memories rushing through his head like race cars trying to reach to first. He slowly went back to the woods, Scott's demonic blue eyes frightening him as he stabbed him near his heart.

The stab that would have ended it all.

"ANSWER ME!"

Mitch did so.

But not the way Alex wanted him to.

Not at all.

"SCOTT, PLEASE STOP! PLEASE!"

Alex didn't even know what happened next.

All he knew was that his hand was throbbing a bit and Mitch was on the ground, covering his nose while tears and blood ran down his face.

All because of him.

"Alexander, what did you?!" James yelled, glaring at his son. Alex was unable to speak, Mitch's brown eyes full of unshed tears. "Get out of my office."

"I'm so-"

"GET OUT!"

Alex did as he was told, tears rolling down his cheeks as he thought about hurting Mitch.

Why did I do that? Oh, never mind. I know.

Mitch mistook him for Scott from some strange reason and he hated it.

But why would Mitch think he was Scott?

What did Scott do to Mitch?

What?

~~~
Mitch walked into his room right away, going on his bed so he could avoid everyone. He whimpered silently as he heard his parents begin to argue, still not used to if even though it's been a few months since he was hurt.
"He's scared of me, Avi. I'm can't do this anymore."
"Kevin, he's not scared of just you. He's scared of ta-"
"Of tall people, I know! But of his own father?! May I remind you that I was the one who picked up the phone when he was found yet he hates me?!"
"Don't you dare bring that up, Kevin! I answered the door to see Scott and Kirstie covered in his blood. What kind of parent wants to see that?!"
"What kind of parent wants to get a phone call that says that their only child is in critical condition?!"
"You're so selfish!"
"I'm selfish?!"
Mitch jumped when he heard glass break, knowing that this whole thing was his fault. He covered his (luckily not bruised) face, tears rolling down his cheeks as his parents continued to argue. They never argued before, even when he was abusing drugs, but why now? Why did they start now?
"I'm sorry, Dad. I'm sorry, Pops," Mitch whimpered, his voice raspy from minimal use since the incident. This is the most words he has spoken today, including the therapy. "I'm sorry for ruining your marriage."
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
"FINE! I DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE ANYMORE ANYWAY!"
The door was slammed shut, replaced by Avi's soft sobs as the car engine began. Mitch looked out his window to see Kevin driving off, his heart dropping to his stomach as he fell to his knees.
Well, knee and prosthetic knee.
Mitch rolled his right pant leg up, the fake leg mocking him for all the pain he endured. He could never forget how deep Scott had stabbed him that night and how he woke up with one leg and what was left of his other leg.
"I ruin everything."
Mitch rolled his pant leg back down, staying on the floor to grieve over everything he lost.
His leg.
His happiness.
Possibly his father.
And probably the most important one...
His virginity.
He gave his virginity to someone he thought loved him only to leave in the dust. He wasn't pressured, but he didn't necessarily want it. He wanted it for his own selfish wants.
Drugs.
He's happy he's clean now, but he's beginning to lose everything he once loved and kept close to his heart. It wasn't fair.
At all.
Mitch stood up, looking around his room when a photo frame caught his eye. It was of him and Kevin and Avi on first day of kindergarten, genuine smiles on their faces. Mitch honestly didn't know what came over him, but the next thing he knew, the picture frame was on the other side of the room, glass everywhere.
Mitch continued to do this with everything he could he find, picture frames breaking and anything else making a mess. Mitch was crying, unable to control himself. He picked up his mirror, throwing it across the room to see it shatter.
Just like him.
"Mitch, what in the world?!"
Mitch turned around, Avi looking at him worriedly with tear filled eyes. Mitch fell on his knees, crying loudly as Avi walked over to him. Avi was crying too, holding onto his son tightly.
"I know, Mitch. I'm so sorry, baby. I would do anything for you not to be sad."
Mitch just wanted it all to end.
He wanted happiness.
~~~

Eight hours since Mitch went into surgery with no updates.

Avi was crying loudly, Kevin's strong arms wrapped around him as he cried himself. Scott was sitting next to his parents, a blank look on his face as Connie cried silently. Anjelica was holding Kirstie tightly, running her hands through the blonde hair as her daughter cried. Rick looked angry, feeling like something was wrong with this story.

Why did Scott and Kirstie leave Mitch in the woods by himself when more harm could be done to him?

Why were they covered in head to toe with his blood? Unless they tried to pick him up, blood would only be on their hands.

Also, Rick knew Scott better than anyone else, even Scott himself.

And he knew when Scott was lying.

Before Rick could get Scott's attention, a doctor came in. She smiled at everyone sadly before looking at her clipboard, looking up once more.

"I have updates on Mitchell Olusola."

"That's us," Rick spoke up, gesturing towards everyone. Scott and Kirstie shared a look, hoping no one would be suspicious.

"Okay, well even though I know most of you aren't family members, I'll tell you guys the updates anyway. Mitchell has lost two pints of blood, almost three. We luckily got all the blood we need for a transplant, but he has suffered major injuries. It seems like the person who stabbed him slit his throat, which was not even close enough to kill him; however, he might not be able to sing again if he is in choir. I'm sorry.

"Moving on, he suffered some cuts to his forehead and scalp. We were able to stitch those back up and they will eventually heal. Unfortunately, his right leg suffered the most damage. We were unable to operate on it so we had to amputate. We will set up an appointment for a prosthetic leg.

"Lastly, the stabs near his chest. The biggest one was near his heart. If the knife went into his chest by half an inch, he would have suffered horribly or died. He is out of surgery so if you want to see him, go ahead."

Avi was crying loudly, thinking about Mitch.

Mitch won't be able to sing again.

He has one leg.

He almost died.

Why him?!

Scott and Kirstie shared a smile, knowing that they won.

Rick knew that they did it.

A/N: This is getting intense, lol. Milex is bound to happen in the next couple of chapters so I'm very, very excited.^_^ Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
