WARNING: drug mention, comments about weight
Mitch isn't stupid.
He is never stupid.
Sure, he made stupid decisions, but he was never stupid. At least, that's what people say.
"Mitch is the smartest boy I know!"
"He is such a good boy."
"He's going to have a great future."
All of these were words Mitch feel...
Bad.
He couldn't consider himself anymore. After all the drugs he did, he can't figure out why people still see him as a smart person.
It confused him.
It really did.
The thoughts stayed in Mitch's mind as he sighed, looking at his calender and around his room with tears in his eyes. It was December.
And it's going to be the first Christmas he isn't with his family.
Mario called everyday, including his parents, but it didn't feel right. He felt like nothing was going his way.
Nothing ever goes my way.
November ended yesterday and Mitch has been here for two weeks, but it feels like he has been here since forever.
And it sucks.
He felt his hand twitch, holding it down as his body experienced the symptoms of withdrawal. This was the hardest part of recovering.
Shake.
Stop.
Shake.
Stop.
Shake.
Stop.
And it went like that for a while.
Mitch stood up, taking deep breaths as he thought about doing drugs again, not caring if he didn't get better. He walked out of his room, looking to the right only to widen his eyes.
There on a metal tray...
Was a cup full of pills.
Mitch was about to walk over and grab them when a nurse took them right, causing him to curse internally. He was about to leave when he heard the nurse mumble to herself.
"Drat, I must have gotten the wrong pills!"
Mitch smiled as she set the cup back down, running over there when the nurse left to go retrieve the right pills for the patient. He stuffed the pills in his pocket and went back to his room to see a another nurse standing there. Her arms were crossed, face stern, as Mitch stopped in his tracks. No words were spoken until the nurse uncrossed her arms and put her palm out, nothing but disappointment on her face now.
"Mitchell Olusola, give me those pills. Now."
Mitch shook his head, only getting the nurse angrier.
"Give them to me!"
Mitch did what he thought was best.
He ran.
"STOP THAT BOY! CODE 148!"
A quiet alarm went off and a couple more nurses dropped what they were doing and tried their best to catch up to Mitch only to find out that he was missing. They were all angered and disappointed in the boy. Mitch didn't care though as he snuck into the bathroom, ready to put a pill in his mouth when...
"Mitchell, don't. Please."
Mitch looked up to his therapist, her eyes full of sorrow as she looked at her patient. Mitch stood up only to be cornered into the stall for people with wheelchairs, his therapist looking at him intensely.
"I know you have the pills, hon. Please give them to me. Make the smart decision."
That's when Mitch snapped.
"It's about being smart, huh?" Mitch hissed, shaking his head as tears welled up. "Is this about me going here and pretending that these past three months didn't happen?! I am not smart! I am an idiot! I threw away my future because I wanted to not be humiliated, but I was stupid and did it on my own! I'M AN IDIOT! I'M NOT SMART ANYMORE! I'm so stu-stupid. I hate myslef."
Mitch broke down in tears, the pills still in his hand. His therapist nodded, clearing her throat before talking.
"You wanted to get high again, correct?"
A nod. Sob.
A nurse walked in, walking over to Mitch carefully as he nodded at the therapist.
"Okay. Just give me the pills and go to isolation. I'm sorry, Mitch."
Mitch did as he was told, tears leaking out of his eyes as he thought about one thing while being taken to isolation.
I'll never get better. Never.

A/N: Just know that I do not think of Mario this way.
The next day at school was something Mario did not enjoy.
He woke up in a bad mood and cried when his mom told him they were going Christmas shopping. It might not seem like a big deal, but Mitch went Christmas shopping with Mario's family ever since he was in kindergarten.
Now he can't even see his own friend.
As he walked into the cafeteria, he could hear giggling behind him. He turned around to see Scott and Kirstie laughing at him while Kirstie's boyfriend Jeremy shook his head. Mario tried his best to ignore them them until one of them said a comment that hurt his heart.
"I'm surprised you got through the door. Did they have to repair it?!"
Everyone around Scott and Kirstie's table quieted down, which made everyone else in the cafeteria quiet down. There was a few laughs, which made Mario self-conscious as he set his food down.
"Oh, he's sitting by himself. I'm surprised he didn't take up the whole table," Kirstie yelled, which made a few more people laugh. Jeremy shook his head, glaring at his girlfriend in disappointment.
"Kirstie, watch it. Be nice."
"It's not her fault his mom couldn't afford Weight Watchers for him. They saw that he was too fat and they were disgusted by it," Scott spoke loudly, making more people laugh. "Isn't that right, Mario? Or are you actually using Weight Watchers and just eating the chocolate?"
"You guys are jerks," Jeremy hissed, shaking his head before smiling at Mario. "Don't listen to them. Your body is perfect the way it is. I hope you like it."
Mario mumbled a thank you, looking at the empty chair next to him. If Mitch was here, despite how shy he was, he would have went on a full rant about how people who are heavier are still beautiful and opinions about weight should not even be a thing in the first place.
Man, he really did miss Mitch.
As Mario opened his pudding, a comment from Scott angered him.
Truly, deeply angered him.
"I wonder if Mitch killed himself. Maybe that's why he isn't here. If he did do that, he just did the world a big favor. I wish he committed suicide."
Kirstie laughed only to scream seconds later when Mario picked Scott up by his shirt and punched him across the face. Jeremy widened his eyes, only to smile behind his milk carton. Scott glared at Mario, trying his best to ignore the blood dripping down his face.
"You did not just punch me."
"Oh, but I did."
With that said, Mario punched Scott as hard as he could in the stomach. He smirked as Scott groaned, the blond falling into a heap on the floor as Mario walked back to his table.
"Make a comment like that about my friend again and I will do worse things to you."
And Mario continued to eat his food like it was no big deal.
It eventually became a big deal when Mario was called up to the principal's office only to see his mom and Scott's parents and Scott all sitting down, waiting for him. His mom looked angry while Scott's parents looked disappointed.
As for Scott...
Well, let's just say that if looks could kill, he killed everyone in the room.
It turns out that the principal had to talk to Mario about violence and how to be more careful of our actions, but let Mario off with a warning and said he will be suspended if he beat anyone else up. Scott was suspended for three days because comments about wishing someone died because of suicide was not allowed.
All was going swell in Mario's opinion.
"Mario, I am so ashamed of you. You're grounded for two weeks."
Mario dropped his jaw, widening his eyes as he looked at his mom. He shook his head, scoffing before talking.
"I was defending Mitch, Mom!"
"Well, if he wasn't such an idiot and did drugs, none of this would have happened. I'm not taking away your phone, but just know that I am very disappointed in you."
With that said, Mario walked upstairs as he prayed to God to see Mitch again.
~~~
Kevin walked into his room to lay down and have a nap when he heard sobbing. He raised an eyebrow, walking towards the sound only to see Mitch's door wide open. He looked inside and felt his heart ache, putting his hand on his chest as he walked inside and tried his best to not break down in tears.
Avi was laying down on Mitch's bed, holding onto one of Mitch's pillow. He was sobbing quietly, sniffing on th3 pillow to absorb what was left of Mitch's scent. Kevin walked over, sitting down on the bed and put a gentle hand on Avi's back, shushing his husband quietly.
"Shh, shh, shh, it's okay, Avi. He'll get better in no ti-"
"No, it's not okay! Our son is in rehab and will spend his Christmas alone! He is with people that will either scare him or tell him that he will never get better or tell him that he should be ashamed of his actions when he couldn't control it! He's going to alone, Kevin! He's going to be hear-heartbroken. Ou-our ba-baby is alone."
Avi broke down in tears once more, the doorbell ringing throughout the quietness of their house. Kevin stood up, leaving Avi alone so he could cry and just clear up his mind while Kevin checked to see who was at the front door. Kevin walked down quickly, opening the door to see Connie and Angelica on the other side. They both looked so sad yet happy to see Kevin, bowls of food in their arms.
"We thought since you guys were going through a tough time that we should make food for you," Angelica spoke uo, nodding her thanks as Kevin let the moms in. "Kirstie misses Mitch horribly which surprises me. She is always so venomous towards him."
"She is?" Kevin asked, raising an eyebrow. Angelica nodded, rolling her eyes as she thought about her daughter. "How about Scott?"
"Oh, he's the worst. He always picks on Mitch," Connie replied, shaking her head. "He's so rude. He was suspended because he said he wishes that Mitch committed suicide. He's so rude."
Kevin shook his head, tears springing in his eyes as he thought about Mitch.
The Mitch that made breakfast every Saturday morning for his parents.
The one who cried whenever his parents were in pain.
The one when, he was four, his parents tricked him into getting him a horrible Christmas present (a roll of toilet paper which was replaced by a book) and was so grateful for it that he thanked his parents endlessly.
The one who had a big heart and cared for everyone, especially the ones that showed him malice.
Mitch didn't deserve to go through the pain Scott and Kirstie have put him through since he was younger. They have bullied him to the point were he had anxiety and begged his parents everyday his freshman year to not let him go to school. Avi and Kevin's hearts broke whenever Mitch had a panic attack and cried to the point where his face was red and his eyes burnt from tears. They really had no choice but to send him school.
Now Kevin regretted it with all his heart.
He really did.
"I ca-can't believe it. Avi and I sent Mitch to school without knowing that he was being picked on by those two. I'm a horrible parent. My poor baby."
Angelica and Connie both frowned and set down the food, hugging Kevin close to them. They just let him cry, shushing him when he got louder.
Nobody deserved to go through this and the fact that Mitch is the one who is so kind and thankful for everything he receives yet he is the one who is suffering the most and went through all this pain because of Scott and Kirstie.
They hurt him yet he considered them his friends.
And they don't even deserve to know what Mitch's love feels like.
Yet they managed to rip it apart and step on it.
But Mitch still loved them.
No matter what.
A/N: This is really sad and I sincerely apologize. I honestly love how I'm writing a lot for this book, lol. I haven't written that in a long time. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
