Also...be honest...
Is this story going too fast? Too slow?
I realized I made a mistake, but I'm planning to change up the plot a bit...
Give it a little Milex fluffiness.;)
Anyway...
You are ALL going to love and also feel bad for Mitch in this chapter.
COMMENT, Y'ALL!
Please?!
I'm starting college on the 7th.😭
WARNINGS: attempted suicide, drug use, hallucinations, homophobia, revealing someone's sexuality without their consent
Here we go.:)
The next day at school, Mitch walked into the school only to have people look over at him. They were either looking at him in disgust, surprise, or a mix of both. He raised an eyebrow, walking over to his friend Mario to get an answer.
"Why is everyone looking at me?" Mitch asked shyly, someone coughing behind him. He could hear a vulgar term (f*ggot) in between their 'coughs', making him freeze. "Mario?"
Mario sighed as he looked back at his friend, shaking his head as a football player flipped off Mitch. Mario frowned, his eyes full of empathy as he revealed what happened:
"Scott and Kirstie said that you came out over the weekend and that you told them that they could say that you did. I didn't know you're gay."
Mitch's heart skipped a beat.
Mitch widened his eyes, backing up against a locker as it all made sense to him now. He was always picked on for having gay parents, but now he is being picked on for a different reason.
He's gay.
And no one likes that.
"Why didn't you tell me, Mitch? I would have accepted you."
Mitch shook his head, murmuring a quiet 'thank you' to Mario before going into his English class. Miss. Kennedy looked up, surprised to see Mitch in class. He's usually a couple minutes late, which was unusual at first, but it eventually became a normal thing.
Him being early to any place was out of the norm now.
"Mitchell, are you okay? I heard about you coming out. Congratulations!"
"Thank you," Mitch whispered, trying his best not to cry. He put his backpack down, sighing heavily before speaking. "Miss. Kennedy? What day do I have to take the test to pass this class?"
"Well," Miss. Kennedy murmured, flipping through some papers before pulling one out of a big pile. She smiled, her eyes pained. "You could take it on the 30th. If you don't do that, then you will unfortunately fail this class."
"Okay. Thank you."
"You're welcome, Mitchell. You are such a great child. You're so truthful. Your dads are so lucky to have you. They raised you right."
Mitch nodded, knowing that if anyone found out about his secret, the small town will know about it in a day and they will shame them. They're already shamed for having a gay couple.
And Mitch would rather be shamed for being gay than doing drugs any other day.
Which reminds him...
He still needs to talk to Scott and Kirstie about outing him.
Without his consent.
"Um, Miss. K? I was won-"
A boy came up and scoffed, shaking his head as he pushed himself against Mitch. Mitch gasped quietly, trying his best not to cry when students around him laughed. Miss. Kennedy shook her head, directing her attention towards Mitch, but he was already sitting down. She shook her head and started her lesson, ignoring the insults and pieces of paper thrown at Mitch.
And Mitch just sat there, tears in his eyes.
I deserve this...and I need to talk to Scott and Kirstie.
Mitch realized that he had only one option to make Scott and Kirstie say that they are lying so no one would bully him anymore.
So his family won't be picked on.
I have to do drugs again.
~~~
"Well, well, well, is that the school fa-"
"If you finish off that sentence with that horrible word, I'll kill you," Mitch interrupted angrily, gritting his teeth. Kirstie laughed, blowing smoke in Mitch's face. "How dare you guys out me?!"
"You made a promise with us. If you don't do or stop doing the drugs, we have the right to humiliate you however we wanted," Scott spoke up, wrapping his arms around Mitch's waist. Mitch punched his chest a few times, frustrated tears rolling down his cheeks. "You broke it, Mitch. We could whatever the heck we want to do to you."
"By outing me?! You knew I wasn't ready," Mitch practically yelped, pushing himself out of Scott's arms. Kirstie 'oooh'ed from the background, Mitch turning his hands into fists as he glared at Scott. "You are DISGUSTING! How DARE you?!"
"You break a promise, you suffer the consequ-"
"I'll do drugs again if you guys say that I'm not really gay."
Scott widened his eyes a bit, looking back at Kirstie. She almost dropped her cigarette, knowing that Mitch was going to say that.
Unfortunately for Mitch, Scott and Kirstie are one step ahead of him.
"Oh, okay," Scott agreed, taking out a small baggie of cocaine. Mitch took it, getting a small metal straw from his pocket. "Dang, you were expecting that from the beginning, uh?"
Mitch didn't say anything. He poured the white powder on the table, putting into a straight line before sniffing it up. He sniffed a bit, glaring up at Scott and Kirstie as he stood up.
"There, happy?! Now tell them that I am no-"
Scott and Kirstie laughed as Mitch saw things resembling monsters appear behind him. He widened his eyes, screaming as the monsters walked over to him, laughing loudly.
KILL YOURSELF
DIE
SHOOT YOURSELF
Mitch screamed even louder, crying as he ran upstairs. His hands covered his ears, trying his best to block out the voices.
DROWN YOURSELF
HANG YOURSELF
DIE
A hand reached over to him and wrapped his neck, squeezing tightly. Mitch sobbed loudly, pushing the hand back before running out of the door. When he began to run to his house, the monsters chased him and came out of nowhere.
They were on his tail.
"LET ME LIVE!"
Unbeknownst to him, the 'monsters' were caused by bath salts.
One of the most dangerous drugs known to humankind.
Mitch finally made it home, the monsters in front of him know. They grabbed his arms and led him to the kitchen, putting him in front of the butcher block. The only knife that was in there was the biggest knife.
Which is also the sharpest one.
DO IT
KILL YOURSELF
BLEED UNTIL YOU STAIN THE FLOOR
DIE
SLIT YOUR WRISTS
SLIT YOUR THROAT
YOU'LL DIE FASTER
YOUR THROAT
THROAT
Mitch's hands shook, his left hand reaching towards the knife. The monsters cheered him on, tears rolling down his cheeks as the sharp end went near his jugular.
DO IT
EVERYONE WOULD BE HAPPY
DO IT
Mitch sobbed, more and more monsters appearing. They cheered Mitch on, the knife slowly making its way through his neck. Mitch pressed harder, a gray liquid falling out of his neck.
(A/N: The gray liquid is blood.^_^)
POISON
YOU'RE DOING IT
YOU'RE DYING
Mitch listened to the monsters.
Why?
Because they knew what is best.
~~~
Kevin and Avi made it home just a minute after Mitch came home, Avi's eyebrow raised at one little thing.
The door is wide open.
"Why is the door open? Mitch knows better," Avi commented as Kevin stopped the car, jumping when he heard a scream.
Mitch's scream.
"Was that-"
"It's Mitch," Kevin whispered, jumping out of the car. Avi did the same, his eyes full of worry. "He's probably getting hurt!"
Avi was about to say something when Mitch screamed once more, making the couple jump. They shared a look, running into the house to hear Mitch screaming as loud as his body allowed him to. Avi ran into the kitchen right away, screaming when he saw Mitch.
"MITCH! KEVIN, COME HERE!"
Mitch was on the ground, a butcher knife on his throat. He was sobbing loudly, his eyes closed tightly as his left hand held the knife while his right hand was up in the air.
Like someone was holding him.
"Did you find hi-MITCHELL," Kevin screamed, plopping in front of his son. Mitch opened his eyes, screaming once more as he made eye contact with Kevin. "Give...me...the...knife."
"No! They want to kill me. I want to kill me," Mitch sobbed out, closing his eyes as the knife dug in deeper. Avi cried silently, turning away from his son as Kevin looked at his son closely.
He should have known from the beginning.
Weight loss, glazed eyes, laziness, rambunctiousness, sneaking off, loss of self-hygiene...
Lying.
All these things led to one thing and as much as Kevin didn't want to admit it, he had no choice.
Mitch is doing drugs.
"Mitch, listen to me. The monsters are not real. They are cause by the drugs-"
"Drugs?!" Avi yelled, shaking his head as he looked back at his son. "No, no, no! Mitch, baby!"
Kevin shushed his husband, removing the knife from Mitch's grip, replacing the weapon with his warm hands. Mitch refused to open his eyes, shaking as the whispers went away. He slowly opened his eyes, the monsters going away to reveal his parents.
His loving parents.
And there is no way he could lie about this now. They know now.
And he'll be sent back to foster care.
"Daddy?" Mitch whimpered out, his voice cracking slightly. Kevin nodded, tearing up as Mitch sobbed quietly. "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."
"It's okay, Mitchy. It's okay," Kevin whispered, bringing in his son. Mitch cried loudly, gripping into his father as tightly as he could. "It's okay, you're okay. You're going to be okay."
"I lied to you," Mitch managed to get out, gripping onto his father's jacket. "I did drugs. For so long. Since the beginning of school. I'm sorry. You could put me back in the foster care system. I'm a horrible son."
Mitch sobbed loudly, the sob practically shaking himself. Avi shook his head, shaking a look with Kevin before sitting down next to his son. He ran a hand up and down Mitch's back, kissing the top of his son's head before speaking.
"We will never put back in the system. You're ours, Mitchy and you're always going to be ours. We will never dream of giving you back."
Mitch nodded, wiping his eyes as the drugs wore off. He looked at his dads, his lip quivering a he ran a hand through his greasy hair.
"I need help."
"Yes you do, but there's nothing wrong with that," Avi spoke quietly, sobbing to himself before hugging his son. "You're going to get help and you're going to get better."
Mitch nodded, sighing to himself before looking at Kevin. Kevin nodded, scooting nearer so he could be by his family.
"Scott and Kirstie outed me today. I don't want to go back. I don't. They did it because I didn't want to do drugs. I made myself do drugs, but they got me addicted. I'm sorry. I don't want to go back to that school."
Kevin shook his head, holding his husband and son tightly as he thought what was best for his son.
And he figured it out in less than a second.
"And you won't. You are going to rehab and you are going to get better. You are going to go there wounded and come back healed. You are going to be so much stronger than you were before you left."
Mitch nodded, his dads' arms wrapped around him protectively. The three of them cried, happy to be safe and sound in each other's arms. Nothing could come between them now. They have everything under control and their lives will go back to normal.
Little did they know that Scott and Kirstie have plans to murder Mitch that they started in middle school and from the bicycle falling down into the river because of a purposely popped tire to now, all their plans failed.
But this next one will work.
Why?
Because Kirstie planned it.
And her plans never fail.
A/N: Well, Mitchy is getting help! He finally revealed the truth! A lot is going to happen now (blame Scristie because why not?) .;) I'm super, duper excited too! Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
