Flashback 21

Thank you to everyone for staying patient.

I was finishing up my first semester of college and that's why I wasn't active, lol.

Accept this as an apology? :3

Here we go!

This chapter is going to be exciting.;)

Scott remember the day he fell in love with Mitch.

The memory was clear as day and he loved looking back at it.

It was his first day of sophomore year and Mitch's freshman year and that's when he realized how beautiful the small boy was.

The dimples that practically molded his face, his deep brown eyes that reminded Scott of the cool and peaceful autumn days, the shy and sweet yet mysterious and somewhat suggestive smile, the tan skin that was kissed by the sun, and the hair that feel upon his eyes.

Yet Scott didn't care about the boys appearance.

He cared about how those dimples showed when Mitch smiled, he cared about the tears in Mitch's eyes when he laughed at a funny joke, he cared about the smile that made everyone's day better by just looking at it, and he cared about how the hair covered Mitch's face when he was his most shy.

Scott loved and craved for Mitch's personality and loved the boy everyday for that exact reason.

And he planned to tell him on the day that he cared for the most.

August 25th, the first day they met in junior high.

And today is that day.

Scott looked at Mitch from a distance, sighing to himself as he saw the young boy laugh at whatever his friend Mario said. Anyone was lucky to be around Mitch.

And Scott desperately wanted that, even if his fears of being upfront and personal scared him.

That, and his social anixety is pretty bad.

Okay, okay. He's just a boy that you like. Even if he doesn't like you back, that's okay. You're still friends with one another and that's all that matters.

"Scott, you okay?"

Scott screamed, making everyone near him jump. Mitch put a hand over his chest, looking at Scott seriously and worriedly. Scott blushed, clearing his throat before talking and trying his best to ignore the glares sent his way.

"Yeah, what's up?" Scott asked smoothly, smiling at the small boy in front of him. Mitch blushed, giggling before talking.

"Nothing much. You just gave me a heart attack. Anyway, Mario walked off. He had to make up a test and I was wondering if you wanted to hang out until choir."

SCCCCRRRRREEEEECCCCCCCCHHHHHH

"Um, sure," Scott replied, smiling brightly. Mitch laughed, nodding as the taller boy's eyes sparkled with joy. "I would love to do that. What do yo-"

"Scott!"

Mitch sighed sadly, moving over to make way for Kirstie. Kirstie smirked, shaking her head before smiling at Scott.

"Hey, Scott! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out until choir!"

Scott frowned, looking over at Mitch sadly. Mitch shook his head, mouthing that it was okay when Scott knew it wasn't.

It was never okay.

"Sure, I'll love to," Scott replied, giving Mitch an apologetic look. Mitch smiled sadly and sighed to himself, wanting nothing more than to have time with Scott. "What do you want to do?"

"The bathroom is open," Kirstie told Scott, making the boy roll his eyes and shake his head. "Oh! That reminds me. Mitch, don't forget what you have to do today!"

"I didn't," Mitch murmured quietly, unbuttoning his shirt to show 'I'm needy and desperate and free on weekends.;)' on his chest. He sighed loudly, his cheeks pink. "Please don't let me do thi-"

"Then say yes to drugs and it won't happen! Go!"

Mitch nodded, trying his best not to cry as he covered his chest. Kirstie rolled her eyes, laughing loudly.

"Loser."

Scott shook his head, wanting Mitch more than anything.

~~~
"Kirstie, no. For the millionth time, we are not going to give him marijuana. That drug is a poison."
Kirstie rolled her eyes as she stuffed some of the weed into a plastic bag, jumping when Scott slammed his hand down over the bag. Kirstie glared at Scott, shaking his head.
"Yes I am. Our plan is working, Scott. Mitch will take too much drugs and then he'll overdose. He'll be dead and everything will be happy again. It'll just be me and you, against the world. Mitch will be gone and we'll be together, forever."
Scott looked at Kirstie, a confused look on his face.
What did Kirstie mean by 'together, forever'?
"What do you me-"
Kirstie grabbed Scott's shirt and pulled him down, slamming her lips onto the boy she has had a crush on seventh grade. Scott widened his eyes, trying his best to push Kirstie back when she made her grasp on his shirt tighter. Tears welled up in his eyes and he eventually gave up, breathing heavily when Kirstie released him. He couldn't even look at his friend, his hand over his swollen lips as Kirstie smirked at him. Her phone then 'beeped', causing her to unlock it and chuckle.
"Well, it's time for me to go. Mitch will be home at any minute. We know how needy that boy gets."
Kirstie left without another word.
Scott was still in shock, his hands shaking as he still kept one of his hands over his lips. That kiss felt...
Wrong.
Forced.
Unloving.
Was that...assault?
Scott was numb. He felt like he was ashamed of what happened, even though he didn't have a say in what happened. He feels like...
Kirstie forced him to do it.
It can't be assault though. It was a kiss, even if I didn't want it.
Thoughts of doubt and regret entered Scott's mind, the Voice coming back to haunt him.
You're weak. You couldn't even fight off a girl. Just admit. Kirstie is stronger and better than you.
Scott shook his head, putting his hands over his ears as he cried. He hated this feeling.
He felt like he was just humiliated in front of hundreds even though it was just in front of Kirstie.
He felt...
Used.
You were used. Kirstie used you. No one will love you.
"I know," Scott whispered, crying as the pain in his lips subsided. No.ome has ever treated him like this before and he hated it. As he was crying, he realized one thing.
One important thing.
Is this how Mitch feels like when we humiliate him?
What do you think, you idiot?! Of course he does! It's your fault he feels like this! You ruined him and Kirstie ruined you! You deserve it!
"Scott, honey? Are you okay?"
Scott was crying loudly, the voice in his head speaking louder than his mother's sweet and gentle words. Connie frowned, walking over carefully to her son.
Scott was having an episode and he is known to do violent things while in an episode.
Very violent things.
"Scott, baby?"
Scott shook his head, sobbing as Connie sat by him. He was about to throw a fist at Connie when she dodged the assault, flinching when all she heard was skin-on-wall contact. Scott yelped, cradling his hand to his chest as he continued to cry.
Connie hated his episodes.
"Scotty, it's okay. It's your mind messing with you," Connie reassured her son, jumping when Scott slammed his non-injured hand down.
"No, it's not."
"Who then?"
"It's Kirstie. It's always has and will be."
~~~

Scott was going to do it.

He was going to tell Mitch that he loved him.

And he made sure that Kirstie wouldn't stop him this time because her and Angelica went out of town for the weekend.

And he felt free.

"It's time to tell Mitch," Scott told himself, smiling brightly. He hasn't felt this happy in a long time. "I can't wait to tell him."

Scott took his medicine, did all of his homework, did his chores, and didn't have any kind of episode, even a minor one.

Today is a good day and it was going to a great one in a little while.

And Scott couldn't wait to tell Mitch how he felt about him.

How he actually felt about him.

"You and I will finally be a power couple," Scott murmured happily, checking to make sure he took his medicine for his schizophrenia today. He did and his smile grew more, if that was even physically possible. "Nothing will be able to ruin today."

Scott put on his favorite cologne (the one Mitch has said that he loved the smell of) and his favorite jacket, skipping down the stairs with a joyful smile. He didn't notice the solemn atmosphere or the devastated looks on his parents' faces, his carefree nature making him unobservant.

Nothing will be able to make him sad.

Absolutely nothing.

"Mom, Dad! I'm going to tell Mitch that I love him," Scott yelled, making tears spring in Connie's eyes. Rick sighed, standing up to tell his son some news he was just told.

Horrible news.

"Scott, wait. Mitch is-"

But Scott didn't listen.

He just ran out of his house and walked over to the Olusola household, skipping and singing some song Mitch loved. It's crazy to know how much that boy has affected him in more ways than one.

He wished that he didn't have to pretend that he hated Mitch. He wanted nothing more than to call the doe-eyed boy that he crushed hard on his boyfriend.

But Kirstie threatened to end their friendship if that happened and will make sure that they will never be together.

And Scott refused to let that happen and will try his best to keep their relationship private, even if it hurts him.

If I could date him, I will protect him and save him from Kirstie. She will never lay a hand on him once I start dating him.

As Scott walked over to the Olusola household, he managed to pick out some flowers for Mitch on the way. He might have pricked himself on the thorns, but it was for Mitch.

And Mitch is all he cared for.

Here I am.

When Scott reached the the house, he couldn't stop smiling. His heart was beating crazily and his legs were shaking, but it was finally happening.

Mitch might be his boyfriend.

Here I go.

Scott walked up and knocked, smiling brightly and waiting impatiently for an answer. He was about to knock again when Avi answered.

And that was when he frowned for the first time today.

Avi was crying.

Hard.

"Avi, are you okay? Where's Mitch?"

"Scott, I'm sorry," Avi whispered, crying silently. "Mitch is in rehab. He won't be back for a long time."

And that was when Scott's heart broke.

He ran off without another word, crying loudly. He didn't care if people heard him.

Mitch will never know Scott loves him.

Scott ran into his house, slamming the door as he sobbed. Connie heard him, walking over to him.

"Scott, honey?"

"Mommy? He's gone. I love him."

Connie nodded, crying with her son. Scott never felt this heartbroken before and he hated it.

So much.

Why did this happen to me? What did I do? Why can't I date him? Why? Why?

A/N: Well...I'm sorry for the sadness.): How did you guys feel about Scömìche drama? I think it worked out.:) Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
