Flashback 2
WARNING: drug use
Also, I know nothing about drugs so I apologize if this is wrong. I don't know if people get hooked into drugs right away or it takes a little while. I'm sorry.
Last note, Mitch is very sassy in this chapter...and not the good kind.
30+ comments because..:why not?
Mitch was honest.
Never once did he tell a lie to his parents.
Things were meant to be changed though, even if it involves being hurt.
"Mitch, wake up. It's time for school."
"Okay," Mitch replied, groaning at his headache. After the 'first hit', he decided to inject more heroin. He enjoyed it. He thought that he wouldn't enjoy doing drugs, but here he is wanting more. "I'm getting up."
"Okay," Avi called back, walking downstairs. Mitch stretched a bit, getting out of bed as he picked up his phone. He smiled at the text message, mentally cheering at its content.
Bowl of Noodles🍜: Meet Kirstie and I at the park after school. We have a little something-something for you.
Mitch was desperate. He couldn't believe that he fell victim to drugs so quickly. He loved the rush he received after the heroin injection. He texted back excitedly, putting on his outfit for school and picked up his backpack.
Can school end already?!
"There you are. I was wond-Mitch, what happened to your arm?!"
Mitch looked down at his arm, widening his eyes at the big bruise that covered the bendy part. Mitch bruises easily, especially when it came to shots. Kevin and Avi waited for an answer, their concerned expressions annoying Mitch for some reason. Before, he would have cried and told the truth.
Now it's different.
"I ran into a door," Mitch lied, almost believing the lie himself. Never before did he realize how easy it was to lie.
Dang...
"Why don't I believe you?" Kevin asked, squinting a bit. Before, Mitch would have been intimidated by the 'Dad Stare'.
Things are meant to change.
"Well, it did happen so don't worry about it."
"Mitchell," Avi scolded, shaking his head in disappointment. "You know better than to talk back to your father. What's wrong with you this morning?"
Mitch would have apologized and accept the punishment his fathers decided to give him, which will take a couple of hours because Mitch never gets punished. He would talk to Kevin personally and apologize again.
Once again, change.
"Well, how am I supposed to answer?" Mitch asked sassily, rolling his eyes. Avi and Kevin shared a look, wondering what was going on with their sweet son. "Why are you guys doing that?! I'm fine!"
"You look sick," Avi commented, making Mitch look in the mirror. Mitch's eyes were droopy and he looked pale, putting him into a panic. "I don't want you to go to school. I'll call the doctor so you can have an appointment. Something is very wrong with you."
Appointment?!
"No!"
Avi flinched, wondering why Mitch yelled. Mitch widened his eyes a bit, trying to come up with another lie.
Lying is so hard!
"Anjelica...had the flu a week ago and Kirstie caught it and I guess she gave it to me. Oops," Mitch lied once more, shrugging his shoulders as he laughed nervously. Avi and Kevin nodded, looking at their son nervously. "I'll stay home. I'll be fine."
"Okay," Kevin agreed reluctantly, handing Mitch some money. Mitch looked at it, looking back at his father. "I need to go on a business trip for two weeks. Something about a brain surgery. Your other father will be gone for two days. Stay safe, okay? I trust you. You always tell us the truth and I respect that."
Yeah...about that...
"Thanks, Dad. Stay safe," Mitch mumbled, hugging his dads tightly. "I'll see you guys later."
"Get some rest," Avi replied, kissing Mitch's forehead sweetly. Mitch nodded, stuffing the money in his pocket. "Spend that money wisely. I'll see you in a couple of days."
"Okay. See ya."
Avi locked the door, bringing a smile to Mitch's face. He texted back, his smile growing crazily.
Me( Mitchell): Hey, are you and Kirstie going to school today? I can't go. I'm 'sick'. The heroin made me look dead.
...
...
...
Bowl of Noodles🍜: Heck no. We'll come over. Heroin does that to you. Also messes with your personality. We'll bring something that will most likely make you sad, but it's worth it.
Mitch would have said no.
His conscience would have told him to be humiliated, that it's okay to come out.
He would have preferred to come out and be ridiculed instead of going down the path of drugs.
But things change.
And not for the better.
Me (Mitchell): Awesome. That's okay. Bring it over.
The old Mitch was gone and the new Mitch is here to stay.
~~~
"Mitch!"
Mitch smiled, nearly jumping up and down when Kirstie out the bag of stuff on the coffee table. Scott came in, a small joint in his hand. He laughed at Mitch, whistling afterwards.
"Dang, heroin hit you hard. Are you sure you want to-"
"Yes," Mitch interrupted, a bit too abruptly. Kirstie laughed, realizing something as she looked bad at Mitch.
"We're your dealers. You have to give us money."
Mitch nodded, taking the money Kevin gave him out his pocket. Kirstie smiled, looking at Scott with her famous smirk. Mitch counted it, nodding as he looked at his friend.
"How much?"
"$150."
Mitch nodded, getting five tens and a hundred out of the pile of money. He only had $200 left, but he didn't care.
More drugs.
"Here you go. Be careful."
Mitch nodded, taking the small bag of white powder from Kirstie. He poured it on the coffee table, confused when Scott gave him a razor blade and a tube-like object. He looked up at the tall blond, a look of confusion on his face until Scott explained.
"The razor is to put the powder in a straight line and the tube is to...snort it," Scott explained, squatting down so he could help Mitch. Mitch was anxious, tapping his fingers on the table impatiently. "Dang, are you going through withdrawal already? You get addicted easily, I swear."
A blessing and a curse Mitch has received.
Mitch was one to get addicted easily. That's why his love for music started. Music was his addiction and he lived for it. His parents put him into singing lessons and he's enjoyed singing since then. Singing was another addiction. Never once has he had an unhealthy addiction.
Until now.
"You know me," Mitch replied, smiling when Scott handed him the tube. He put the tube on the powder, taking a deep breath. "Let's go."
"Do it slowly. More fun."
Mitch nodded, snorting up the powder right away. He did it slowly, smiling when he felt the powder rush through his body. He took the tube out of his nose, feeling the drug take over his body as he closed his eyes.
"I've never felt this amazing before. Oh my gosh."
"Good job, Mitchy," Kirstie commented, biting into the brownie she made the night before. "Scott, when are we going to give the boy weed?"
"Not yet. Too addicting. He'll get his butt kicked and we'll be sent to jail. I ain't risking it."
"Wait, weed?" Mitch asked, wondering why his nose was releasing some weird liquid. He put his hand under nose, taking it back to widen his eyes. "My fingers are white, not red."
"You're bleeding," Scott mumbled, rolling his eyes as he threw a napkin at Mitch. "Kirst, let's go. I don't want to be here anymore."
"Scott, Mitch just snorted coke. He could kill himse-"
"So? If he does, it's his own fault. Let's go!"
Kirstie rolled her eyes, getting her stuff together. Scott and Kirstie left Mitch by himself as the drug wore off. Suddenly, he became sad.
Lonely.
Depressed.
He frowned, wondering why he was feeling like this. He felt his lips quiver, sobbing a bit as he cleaned up the powder.
Why am I so sad?
Mitch cleaned and threw everything that had to do with drugs away, laying down on the couch. He cried silently, his sobs shaking his body as he tried to keep quiet.
Why am I so sad?!
Mitch sat up, getting the laptop to look up something.
The side effects of cocaine
He clicked on the first link, almost crying silently. His tears blurred his vision, disabling him from reading it.
Cocaine is a drug that is known to create an intense high, one were the person is the complete opposite when the high is over. The most common trait is depression, making the person feel dejected. The person crying might occur too. They will also feel edgy, becoming nervous of their surroundings. The last trait, of course, is the the craving of the drug. They would want it more. They will also have a decrease in sleep and eating.
Mitch realized something.
He wanted more.
He needed more.
He tapped his fingers nervously, already feeling like he was going through withdrawal. He sighed loudly, feeling another round of tears welling up in his eyes.
"Why I'm s-so?" His voice cracked, making him cry more as the door opened.
"Mitch? It's Pops. Are you okay?"
Mitch was sobbing loudly, unable to answer. He doesn't get it. He's been depressed before, but not this depressed.
What is wrong with me?!
"Mitch," Avi mumbled quietly, looking at his son worriedly. Mitch looked at him, his lips quivering as he nodded. "What's wrong?"
"I-I-I-"
"Shhh, don't force yourself," Avi mumbled, hugging his son close to him. Mitch cuddled close to him, his eyes closed shut. "Mitch, are you in pain?"
"No."
"Are you depressed?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
Oh, because I just got off my high of cocaine. No big deal. It's not like it's one of the most abused drugs ever. Not at all.
"I guess I just feel bad about being mean to you guys," Mitch admitted, wiping his eyes. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the truth. "I'm so sorry, Pops. I really am."
"It's okay, you're just sick," Avi mumbled, brushing his son's hair back. "I don't need to go to the meeting yet. I'll stay here until I'm ready."
Mitch nodded, sniffing as he adjusted himself. He closed his eyes, hoping that Avi didn't notice anything that Scott or Kirstie might have forgotten. Mitch felt Avi run his hands through his hair, smiling weakly.
"That's right, Mitch. Just go to sleep."
Mitch couldn't believe this.
He was a liar.
He's hurting his parents.
By lying.
He's never lied before.
Old Mitch would have felt bad, but bow he is a new Mitch.
And he does not feel bad at all for lying to them.
A/N: Well...this is getting fun. Again, I apologize if nothing is write. I know nothing about drugs, but I'm doing research. It's actually very, very interesting. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
