Flashback 17

This one is kind of random, lol.

It's cute though.:)

Not the ending though.

It is going to have a part about Mitch being at church, but it's nothing too bad. It's really cute.

Also, listen to the song and imagine Mitch singing it! It is a Christian song so I won't be pressuring you you listen to it if you don't want to. Mama doesn't roll that way.

(But I highly recommend you listen to it because it's gorgeous.)

Read on, my loves!

After school on Wednesday, Mitch caught up with Jeremy and Mario. They both smiled, instantly wrapping  Mitch in their arms.

"Mitch, how are you, buddy?"Jeremy asked sweetly, laughing as Mitch 'hmphed' and hugged his friend tighter. "I'll take that as a 'Jeremy, keep hugging me because you're a teddy bear and I love you'.

"Ding ding ding, we have a winner," Mitch murmured, smiling as he felt Jeremy put a hand on the back of his head. "You two make me happy. I missed you two so much."

"We missed you too," Mario commented, trying his best not to cry at Mitch's improvement and newfound happiness. "Are you going to rehearsal at church tonight?"

"I might. I want to though so I'll get used to the hang of things again," Mitch replied, letting go of his friends. He brushed his hair back gently, taking a deep breath. "If I do, I just don't want people to treat me with fake sympathy."

Jeremy and Mario frowned and both of them were about to wrap their friend in their arms when Kirstie stomped up to Jeremy, grabbing his arm roughly.

Way to ruin the moment.

Funny enough, all three friends thought the same.

"Jeremy, we have to go the church so I could have the solo for Beautiful Things," Kirstie demanded, noticing how Mitch practically tensed the second she spoke. "Oh, didn't see you there, Mitch. Are you doing drugs again? Do you miss the rush of them when you were high?"

"No," Mitch replied timidly, gripping onto his books as memories came back. He closed his eyes, shaking his head. "Please get away from me."

"Oh, but you miss it, don't you? You miss sticking that shot up your veins.  You miss-"

"Kirstie, shut up or leave. You're being a brat."

Kirstie scoffed, shaking her head as she looked back at Mitch.

"Don't audition for that solo, Mitch. You regret it of you do."

Kirstie walked off her nose in the air as Jeremy and Mario glared at her back. Mitch just stood there, shaking as he thought about Kirstie's threatening words.  He was about to let his hopes for the solo to succumb when his thoughts became erratic.

Hey, are you REALLY going to let Kirstie take over you again?! You refused to drugs again when she told you to! If you could do that, you could stand up for yourself and audition for that solo!

"Mitch, are you oka-"

"Yeah. I just have a solo to audition for."

If only Mitch knew what Kirstie was going to do to him.

~~~
"Okay, first off, Kirstie!"
Kirstie smiled, hopping to the front of the room. She cleared her throat and nodded at the church band, singing the lyrics that were so delicately and beautifully. Everyone was in absolute shock of her vocal control and power in her voice while Mitch watched her with tears in his eyes. He wasn't crying because of her singing and how beautiful it was, he was crying because he wanted to be as talented as Kirstie.
Why can't I be as good of a singer as Kirstie? Why does she always beat me at everything?
The applause from the choir made Mitch jump, clapping himself as he tried his best not to cry. He hated being untalented and comparable to other people.
He just hated it.
"Okay, we had two people sign up for this solo and the second person is Mitch!"
Everyone gave Mitch a small applause, not expecting him to do as well as Kirstie. Mitch took a deep breath, hearing the first few measures from the song. His voice shook a bit and he had to stop for a few seconds, looking at everyone with tear filled eyes.
"Are you okay, Mitch? Do you need a few minutes?"
Mitch shook his head, wiping his eyes as everyone looked at him with sympathic eyes. He felt like sitting down and giving Kirstie the chance to have the solo when his thoughts tool over him again.
It's okay. You're doing it. Don't let her win. You deserve this more than anyone.
"I'm ready to start again."
"Okay. From the beginning."
You're going to be okay.
Mitch took another deep breath, going back to singing the song that meant so much to him. His voice was quiet at first, making him shake as Kirstie mocked him.
Don't let her win.
Thanks was when Mitch finally stood up to Kirstie in his own way.
Music.
As he sang, his voice became more confident and he closed his eyes, his hands moving around in a delicate way. As the song progressed, he belted the lyrics, his voice flawless as he forgot about his insecurities. The choir dropped their and looked at Mitch in surprise, not knowing that he had it in him.
The background singers couldn't help but smile as they looked at the boy in front of them and sang quietly so Mitch could have the spotlight.
Mitch clapped on the last part, his smile growing as he kept his eyes closed and swayed his hips a bit to the guitar solo. He didn't even know it was the end until the guitarist stopped, causing him to open his eyes widely.
First, nothing.
I knew it.
Then applause.
Mitch jumped, his hand over his chest as the choir director ran up to him, a smile on her face as she squealed excitedly.
"Mitch, that was the best way I've ever seen anyone sing that song! Absolutely gorgeous! You got the solo, honey!"
"I-I did?!" Mitch stuttered, his smile wide as the director nodded. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"You're welcome, hon."
As Mitch celebrated with the rest of the choir, Kirstie glared at Mitch and wanted nothing than to hurt him when a greater plan came into mind. She smirked evilly as she started to plot it, knowing that everything was going to go her way.
Everything.
~~~

"I got the solo!"

Avi smiled, hugging Mitch tightly as Kevin smiled from the couch. The couple couldn't be anymore proud of their son.

Which reminded Avi of something.

"Mitch, I have something to give you. Hold on and close your eyes."

Mitch nodded, closing his eyes as Avi ran off. Mitch sang Beautiful Things softly , still not over the fact that he had the solo.

He just couldn't believe it.

"Mitch, hold out your arms. Be careful though. It's fragile."

"Okay, Pops."

Avi smiled softly, putting the gift in his son's arm. Avi looked at Kevin seriously yet with some content, his heart warming up at Kevin's smile. Kevin cleared his throat, smiling at Mitch softly.

"Open them."

Mitch opened his eyes and looked at his arms, widening his eyes at the present that rested in his arms. He teared up at the beautiful painting, shaking a bit as he looked at Kevin and Avi.

"This painting is about the prodigal son."

"It is."

"But his story had to do wealth and using up everything he had only to be poor in the end. I struggled with drugs."

Avi walked over, wrapping a gentle arm around Mitch's shoulder before he spoke.

"I know that, but you forgot about the part about him coming back to his father. He begged for forgiveness for what he had done, but his dad was willing to take him back in and give him the love he needed. Mitch, you are the son and your dad and I are the dad. You did something that you were afraid of being disowned, but we were willing to take you back and gave you everything you needed because we loved you. You're everything to us, Mitch. Absolutely everything."

Mitch smiled a bit, hugging Avi as tightly as he could with squeezing the older man. Avi hugged back, rubbing Mitch's back as Kevin stood up and walked into the kitchen to prepare  dinner. He was about to get some knives so he could cut up some vegetables we he was met with a horrific sight.

"What in the world?!"

Kevin picked up the butcher knife, his hands shaking as he read the letter the letter that was on his knife.

He couldn't believe what he read.

Your son will die.

-Dani Miranda Lakoot-Kstylor

Kevin shook his head, not believing that this was true. It was stupid teenager trying to prank the family. Kevin rolled his eyes and ripped the paper up, going back to cooking dinner.

Nobody will ever lay a hand on the Olusola family, especially Mitch. Anyone who tried to would most likely be beaten to a pulp.

Which made Mitch not want his parents to know about Scott and Kirstie bullying him all the time, especially when Scott raped him. He'll never be more tortured than before if that was the case.

But people are always a couple of steps ahead of anyone else, especially when it came to Kirstie.

She always knows how to get her way and will never stop until she wins.

A/N: Drama. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
