Flashback 16

Oh boy, boy, boy!

This story is getting exciting!

And this chapter is entertaining.;)

Read with grace and caution, my angels.

I love you.💕

Mitch picked up his backpack anxiously, taking deep breaths as he looked at himself in the mirror. Today was his first day of going back to class and he was excited but nervous at the same time. Just the week before, the school was kind enough to let him take his senior photos and even the principal saw him take his photos, a big smile on her face because of the change he went through.

And that included dying his hair blond.

He liked it very much and he couldn't help but compare it to once being in the dark and finding light again when he thought he couldn't. Times have changed and he couldn't be anymore proud of himself for changing.

And for the better too.

"Mitch, you ready for school?"

"Yeah," Mitch called back, brushing his hand through his self-consciously. What happened if no one like his new hair? "I'm coming."

Mitch walked downstairs, smiling brightly when Avi stood there with the biggest smile on his face. Avi hugged Mitch tightly, kissing his son's temple before getting a good look at him.

The shoes that made Mitch taller than Avi, the black shirt with daisies on them, and the black skinny jeans that showcased Mitch's skinny legs. Avi smiled more, putting an arm around Mitch's small shoulders as they walked outside.

"I'm going to be with you all day. If you feel nervous and want to go home, you can. Just take it day by day, baby boy. I won't get mad."

Mitch nodded, happy that Avi was going to be by his side the entire school day. He would have freaked out and refused to go to school.

Avi fixes everything.

"Okay, let's go. Everyone misses you."

Mitch nodded, taking deep breaths once more as Avi began to drive. He sang to himself quietly, feeling Avi's hand grip onto husband squeeze tightly, as if he was telling Mitch everything will be okay.

Everything will work out the way they want it to.

"We're here. Let's go now, okay? First class is choir!"

Mitch smiled, remembering his days of choir. They were so fun yet they were full of Scott and Kirstie bullying hi-

Wait.

Scott and Kirstie graduated this year and that means they won't be in choir anymore! Mitch honesty teared up at the realization, wiping his eyes as he opened his door and hopped out. He could hear students gasp and whisper, making him walk closer to Avi and hide behind his father. Avi smiled sadly, putting an arm around his timid son as he walked up to the choir room. Avi looked at Mitch, smiling softly before speaking.

"Ready to go in?"

Mitch nodded, closing his eyes as Avi opened the door. Mitch heard gasps and screams, opening his eyes to see about twenty people running over to him and instantly being pulled into a large group hug.

"Mitch, you're back!"

"I LOVE your new fashion! You look more confident!"

"Your hair looks amazing!"

"Mitch, you look so much healthier and happier."

The compliments from everyone made Mitch tear up, a sob coming out of his mouth as covered his mouth. A couple of girls 'awed' and one girl offered him a tissue, promising that she'll fix his makeup later. Avi smiled as Miss. Winters walked over tears in her eyes as she smiled at Avi.

"He's happy again, Avi."

"I know and I can't be anymore grateful."

~~~
It was the end of the day and Avi and Mitch were laughing at whatever when Mrs. Kennedy walked out of her classroom. Mitch stopped, causing Avi to look over at Mitch worriedly.
"Mitch, are you oka-"
"I need to apologize to someone. Wait here."
Avi nodded and pulled out his phone, widening his eyes a bit as he walked off somewhere that was a bit of a distance between him and Mitch. Mitch took a deep breath, walking over to his old teacher with a scared look in his face as he caught up to her.
"Miss. Kennedy?"
The teacher jumped a bit, her hand over her chest as she turned around. When she saw that it was Mitch, she smiled warmly and wrapped her old student in her arms.
"Oh, Mitch! You look so amazing! So much healthier than before! I missed you, hon."
"I missed you too," Mitch whispered, his voice shaking as he looked down at his feet. He took a deep breath until he looked uo again, unshed tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry that I lied to you. I really am."
"Oh, Mitch," Miss. Kennedy spoke softly, shaking her head as she frowned. "You had no control over yourself, love. You were going through a tough time."
"A tough time I put myself through. I knew better."
Miss. Kennedy frowned, looking around her surroundings before she opened her classroom door and let Mitch inside. Mitch sat down on one of the desks, wiping his eyes as Miss. Kennedy sat down on her own. She cleared her throat before talking, smiling at the sweet boy who impacted her in many ways.
"Mitch, we all have tough times in our lives that make us feel weak, inferior. Most of the time it's because we put ourselves through it and even though you are right that you put yourself through it, you should not blame yourself because of it. You couldn't control it, honey. An addiction can't be controlled unless you're willing to get help and that's what you did. I'm proud of you, Mitch. I cannot be anymore happier about the fact that you're okay."
Mitch smiled shyly, murmuring a thank you as he hugged his teacher. He let go and waved goodbye to Miss. Kennedy before he left, almost jumping when he saw Avi standing by the door. Avi looked sad yet perplexed, his eyes full of grief as Mitch looked over him with a cautious yet loving eye.
"Pops, you look like you were just told something that you didn't want to hear. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah I am. Let's go now, okay? Let's watch a movie at the theater. My treat for you doing so well on your first day back."
Mitch nodded, but he couldn't help but feel scared for his dad. Why was Avi happy five minutes ago, but now he looks scared and afraid of something that is happening? What if his...
No.
It couldn't have come back.
Avi is healthy and he's always going to be healthy. He has to be. Mitch refused to believe in that possibility.
Just refused to.
"Let's go, Mitch. I know how much you've been wanting to go to the movie theater recently. You deserve it."
Mitch nodded, hugging himself as he walked next to his father. Avi was humming something that was happy to himself yet he looked so sad and  scared at the same time.
What is wrong with my dad?!
Mitch ignored it, hopping that everything was okay.
Even though he felt like nothing was going to be okay.
Nothing.
~~~

Kirstie was planning something.

Something diabolical.

She's been plotting something ever since Mitch left for Texas and she feels like it could actually work. Her plans of killing Mitch were flowing along nice-

"Kirst, what is this? I'm concerned."

Kirstie jumped slightly, putting a hand over her chest as she looked up at Jeremy. She smiled sweetly,.shaking her head as she kissed her boyfriend sweetly.

"It's just for the play I'm the stage manager for. Nothing too big."

Jeremy nodded, trying his best to push away the nagging thought that something was wrong.

And if there is, it'll probably have to do with Mitch.

Sweet, innocent Mitch.

The Lewises and Olusolas are very close and Jeremy and Mitch grew up together, along with Mario. The three friends always hung out together and always made sure they were okay, Jeremy and Mario especially when Mitch was struggling with drugs.

When Jeremy found out about Mitch being in rehab for doing drugs, he couldn't believe it. Jeremy refused to get out of bed, eat his meals, do his homework, and everything else because his friend was in a world that was unknown to him.

And Kirstie was one of the reasons why Mitch was dragged into the world of unhealthy addictions and a horrible attitude towards everything.

So when Mitch came back still shy but more confident than before, Jeremy couldn't help but celebrate a bit. In fact, he and Mitch, along with Mario, will be celebrating at their favorite restaurant ever and they couldn't wait for to go there.

"You're not planning to hang out with Mitch, right? I wanted to be with you tonight."

"Sorry, Kirstie. Mario and I planned this for months. Mitch deser-"

"Mitch deserves this, Mitch deserves that," Kirstie interrupted, almost pulling her hair out by how stupid Jeremy was being. "He deserves nothing. Jeremy, he did this to himse-"

"Playing the blame game, uh? Tell me this...where would a timid, closed off, sweet teenager find drugs and use them? If you ask me, the person who is more likely to find it is someone who complains about never getting their way."

Kirstie glared at her boyfriend, grunting as she turned back to her plans. Jeremy rolled his eyes and left Kirstie alone, just missing the next few seconds of Kirstie typing in the words:

How to use a knife properly while stabbing

Kirstie smirked, enjoying these stories of being stabbed and killed because of someone who wanted them on pain and shook her head in disgust when people survived their attack and their attacker was put in jail.

Not a happy ending in Kirstie's opinion.

Why can't stab victims just pass away? It'll make the world easier.

Kirstie shook her head, just wanting everything to go her way.

She hated Mitch with a passion.

So much.

He didn't deserve happiness.

"Kirstie, I'll be back. Mitch and I are going to dinner! Love you, honey!"

"Whatever."

Kirstie was about to give up when an interesting story popped up, causing her to click on it.

TWO GIRLS STABBED FRIEND BECAUSE 'SLENDERMAN' TOLD THEM TO

Kirstie read with a big smile on her face, giggling softly as she wrote down her plans to kill Mitch. Everything was coming into place.

"Mitch, you are going to get it."

Kirstie smiled evilly, making sure to clear her browsing history before sge got up and did a little dance. Mitch was finally going to die.

And she'll get what she wants.

"You'll be mine, Scott. All mine."

And what she wanted the most was Scott's love.

Even more than Mitch dying.

A/N: I'm tired soooo...anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
