Flashback 15

This chapter will be about Avi and Mitch's relationship!

I'm super duper excited about this one!!!

It's cute and sad, but we loves it.

Well, I do.:)

ON WITH THE STORY

Also...today a big chapter of my life started while one ended.

My nephew was born!

And one had ended. I wish not to go into specifics, but it does have to do with my mental health. My health comes first.

It was late at night and Avi was right about to go into bed when he heard a tiny whimper. He got out of bed, hearing Kevin mumble in his sleep. Avi shushed his husband, kissing his cheek gently as if it was his way to tell his love he'll be right back. Kevin smiled in his sleep, subconsciously hugging one of Avi's pillows when he turned over. Avi smiled, frowning immediately when he heard the whimpers grow in sound. He ran down the hallway(which blinded him because of how bright it was) to see Mitch's door wide open like, making him raise an eyebrow at the scene. He walked into his son's room, his heart dropping at the sight.

Mitch had tears rolling down his cheek, holding onto his stuffed animals as he shook from whatever made him whimper. Avi sat down, his eyebrows furrowed in concern as he sat down on Mitch's bed. He put a gentle hand on his son's back, almost tearing up himself when Mitch flinched.

"What's the matter, baby boy? What happened?"

Mitch sniffed, wiping his eyes as he looked back up at his dad, whimpering again as he hugged his stuffed animals tighter.

"I had a scary dream. I dreamt that you didn't want me anymore and you brought me back to the orphanage place. Please don't do that."

"Oh, baby," Avi murmured, hugging Mitch carefully so he wouldn't scare the child more. Mitch cried some more, clinging onto his father like he would disapper into thin air if he didn't hang on long enough. "I will never leave you anywhere on your own. You're too precious for that, my precious son."

Mitch whimpered once more, making Avi frown and try to find out ways to calm down his son when a beautiful tune made his way into his head. He hummed the tune to his sweet son, brushing the thin hair as he hummed. Mitch yawned, hugging his dad as tightly as his small arms allowed him to. In no time at all, Mitch was snoring and Avi was still humming the song when he turned to the hallway, the light not blinding him like it did before. He tilted his head, words floating into his head as he picked up a coloring book and crayon from the ground, writing right away.

Close your eyes, lay your head down

Now it's time to sleep

May you find great adventure as you lie and dream

Avi then go to stuck on one part, hitting the pencil on his cheek a bit before he smiled, writing this lyrics quickly.

We all have our nightmares, even me, my dear

Avi wrote down Light in the Hallway up on top before holding his son in his arms, closing his eyes as he allowed sleep to take over him.

He will always love his Mitch.

~~~
Avi would never forgive himself for the day he slapped Mitch.
Avi was not in a happy mood, his day starting from bad and finishing at worst. First, he woke up late. Second, his phone screen broke when he dropped it. Third, his boss was being arrogant and rude and took it out on Avi all day and made him feel bad when he left early. Fourth, Kevin was working late and won't be back until after Avi was asleep.
And lastly?
Mitch had an attitude because of his terrible day at school.
Avi pulled up at the high school, breathing heavily to himself so he could calm down when Mitch came in the car and slammed the car angrily. Avi jumped, looking over at his son cautiously. Why was his son so angry?
"Mitch, are yo-"
"Please do not talk to me. I'm tired."
Strike one.
Avi bit the inside of his cheek, gripping the wheel as hard as he can so he wouldn't say anything he'll regret. The usually close father and son did not talk to one another, the both of them glaring at nothing in particular, just wanting their days to end. When Avi pulled up, Mitch hopped out of the car when the car was still moving. Avi scoffed, stopping the car right away to get out himself and glare at his son's new behavior.
"Mitchell Coby Michael Olusola, you know better than t-"
"I don't care, Pops. Stop talking to me, please. I'm tired and I just want everyone to shut up."
Strike two.
"Everyone has bad days, Mitch. That does not mean you get to be angry and take it out in anyone else, young man. You-"
"Just let me go upstairs! Please."
Strike three.
Avi didn't know what came over him, but he brought his hand back and slapped Mitch across the face as hard as he could and once he found out what he had down, he gasped. Mitch was frozen in his spot, tears gathering in his eyes as he brought his hand to his injured cheek. Avi widened his eyes, walking towards Mitch only to have the freshman back away from him. Mitch was still in shock, tears rolling down his cheeks as he looked at his dad.
"Mitch, I'm so-"
Mitch shook his head, his face crumbling as he walked upstairs, the sobs he cried breaking Avi's heart. As Avi walked into the living room, he sat down on the couch and covered his face, crying to himself as he wondered:
Why did I ever slap my son?
As he cried, Mitch walked back downstairs witch his hands behind his back. He teared up once more as he heard his dad cry, walking over as carefully as posisble so he wouldn't get his dad upset even more.
"Pops?"
Avi looked up, crying in relief when he saw his son in front of him. He hugged him tightly, sobbing quietly before talking.
"I'm worry for hurting you, baby boy. I just had a really bad day today."
"I deserved it. I was being rude. I had a bad day myself so I'm sorry for putting it out on you."
Together, father and son cried while holding each other, both of them thankful that they fixed this.
And their days got better.
Because of each other.
~~~

"POPS, I NEED YOUR HEEEEELLLLLLPPP!"

Avi hopped out of his chair, wondering what Mitch needed at the moment. He went into the bathroom widening his eyes at the sight.

Having an androgynous child is fun, but the amount of money spent on makeup isn't fun.

"What's the matter, Mitch?"

Mitch pointed to a red dot on his forehead that barely the size of the tip of a needle, frowning at the small blemish.

"I have a pimple the size of Russia and it's picture day today, Pops. I hate it! I'll be the laughing stock of school!"

Avi couldn't help but laugh at Mitch overreacting, causing his son to glare at him but smirk slightly.

"Don't make fun of me! This is a crisis! Call 911! Call the National Guard! Call the-"

"Don't worry, Pops the Great is here," Avi replied in a gallant voice, causing Mitch to roll his eyes playfully. "Now, let's see. Oh, that's start with this!"

"Pops, that's makeup remover."

"Right."

After thirty minutes of playful arguing and giggles, Avi was able to find the foundation. He then put a huge glob on his finger, causing Mitch to widen his eyes and look at his father with slight fear.

"Pops, that isn't barbecue sauce. You just can't squeeze a whole lot out."

"Ha, that's what she-"

"Finish that statement and I will stab you with my mascara brush."

After some help with the foundation, concealer  (which ended up with some going down Mitch's shirt), curling the eyelashes (which almost cut Avi), and eyeshadow (which Avi forgot to blend), it was time to apply eyeliner.

Which was something both of them dreaded.

"Okay," Mitch mumbled, taking the cap off the eyeliner. Avi took it, almost going crossed eyed at the small tube. "Now, you have to try not to poke my eye ou-OW, YOU POKED MY EYE!"

Avi widened his eyes, both him and Mitch laughing at the pain that the sophomore has faced this morning. Despite the tears in his eyes, Mitch loved this moment between him and Avi.

A lot.

"Now, we have to get mascar-I'll just do that part. I love having two eyes. And living."

Avi laughed a bit, looking at Mitch as Mitch applied his mascara. The androgy his son had only made him more beautiful, both inside and out. Mitch finished putting on his mascara, smiling as he looked at Avi.

"Am I pretty yet?"

"You've always been pretty, my baby boy. Always will be."

Mitch smiled shyly, setting down the mascara so he could do his blush and lipstick as Avi watched carefully. Avi shook his head, wondering what he ever did to have a child like Mitch.

He didn't deserve Mitch.

"I'm done, Dad. You could look now."

Avi looked at his son, his breath almost taken away by how beautiful his son was. Mitch looked amazing, his eyeshadow and winged eyeliner making his eyes pop because of how colorful it was. Avi teared up a bit, shaking his head before smiling proudly.

"You're so beautiful, Mitchy. Just absolutely beautiful. Now, let's go. We have to take you to school."

Mitch nodded, smiling as he picked up his backpack, sneaking his hand into Avi's.

"Thank you, Poppy."

"You're welcome, baby boy."

And off they went.

A/N: Well...there's that fatherly/son Mavi for you guys (especially Haley). I honestly love their relationship so, so much. They deserve each other. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
