After we packed met back up at the Big House. We knew there was a good car on the side of the road outside the forest of camp. We just had to get there without attracting monsters. And somehow, we manage to get to the car without letting monsters pick up our sent.

It was a 2006 minivan. Great. Lucy is the only one who can legally drive so she is in the drivers seat, she looks more relaxed than she has since she woke up.

We stopped at a Walmart and stocked up on regular food, we already had plenty of ambrosia, and we each got three CD's of our choice. Lucy selected Walk The Moon- self titled album, Panic At The Disco- Pretty. Odd. and Mumford and Sons- Wilder Mind. I choose Misterwives- Own House, Pentitionix- Volume 3 and Echosmith- Talking Dreams. Piper picked Melanie Martinez- Crybaby, Fitz and The Tantrums- Self named album and Walk The Moon- Talking Is Hard. Conner took Beyonce-4, Panic At The Disco- Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die and Disney's Greatest Hits- Volumes 1-3. Travis grabbed Twenty One Pilots- Vessel, AC/DC- High Voltage and Fall Out Boy- Save Rock And Roll. This is going to be a long trip.

We decided to take turns with our music but we had to list off songs that Piper couldn't sing because her charmspeak is even more powerful when she sings. As we drove, we talked about random things, sang and played things like I Spy and The Letter Game. Lucy got a lot closer to the group as she had sing offs with Conner with his Disney CD, a bit of a rap battle with Travis and his Twenty One Pilots CD and even with me and my Echosmith CD.

But of course, we came to a bit of silence. After a few minutes of silence, Piper said, "So considering I am a child of Aphrodite and we are all at least semi friends here, spill everything. It's time for some stories."

Travis and Conner looked at each other, both blushing but Travis blushing a lot harder. When Piper saw them she snickered. I just started laughing and Lucy, in between laughs, asked, "So you to have something to hide then?" And that made all of us, including Travis and Conner laugh harder.

Then the laughter died out and we just sat there looking at each other and Lucy would occasionally look back at us. Conner looked at Travis said, "You own me one bro." Then turned back to all of us and in a half whisper said, "I like Miranda."

Travis, for some reason, hugged Conner. I was smiling so hard then Piper said, "I KNEW IT!" At that point we all were laughing like crazy. After I could breathe, I turned to Conner. "You need to tell her. She really likes you. I don't know what happened while I was in the infirmary but something happened and you two got closer." I told him.

He blushed as red as a cherry jelly bean. "Really? So I should definitely tell her?" Conner asked, hopefulness creeping into his voice. I smiled and replied, "Definitely. Plus she now owes me ten bucks."

Conner, suddenly pale, asked in a hushed voice, "You two bet on whether I liked her or not?" Goodness. How did he not see that coming? I'm not sure but he can kinda dense, I replied to Hebe.

"Oh course we did! You Hermes kids aren't the only ones who make bets" I said with a grin. Conner and Travis started having a hushed conversation so I turned back to face forward. Lucy was driving, I was in the passenger side, Piper in the middle row with the snacks, clothes and such, and Travis and Conner were in the very back.

Lucy looked over and asked, "Are quest journey things always this fun?" I shook my head. "On quests, we are usually well aware of the danger we are in and it looms over us. This is very different. We know there are so many possible dangers since we don't know what we are going to be up against in the slightest. That's why we are trying not to let it get too quiet or let our minds wander too far. But we can use it to our advantage and live a bit more than we usually get to."

"That's a good way to use it. I guess I'm glad I can give you four a bit more fun than you normally get." Lucy says smiling a bit. I nod and glance back to find Piper looking like she's reading her book but she's obviously listening to the boys conversation, grinning a lot.

We had little conversations here and there but overall the ride was quiet. We slept in the car, washed up at rest stops. All in all, everything was going well. But then we got to California.
