Untitled Part 10
Authors Note:
Something I forgot to mention! I suck at writing! Especially fight scenes!
Forgive meh!
Also...
I'm plotting... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Nothing's happening right now though... Yet... I've only done 615 words so far, so lets see how this goes.
(Each chapter usually has around 2000, 3000 or around that amount of words.)
Back to the story!
---Dick's P.O.V.----
I spent hours on end trying to find more information on Slade. But I came up with nothing. I Was starting to think I had spent a whole day in there. I slammed my head down onto my desk.
"Dammit! Why cant I find anything?" I groaned out loud in frustration. This is impossible! I heard a knock at the door. I sighed and pushed my laptop down, and put my shades on.
"Come in!" I called. The door opened to reveal a frowning Batman.
"What? What did I do wrong this time?" I asked, getting ready for another lecture. Batman's frown deepened.
"The team said you'v only come out of your room once since you got here."
"Its only been a couple of hours." I sighed.
"No Robin, it's been two and a half days." Batman sighed. My eyes widened.
"Seriously?" I asked, sitting up more.
"I think its about time you left this room." Batman suggested. More like ordered. I sighed.
"Just give me time to have a shower and get changed."
Batman nodded and left. I sighed and got up, making my way to have a shower.
------Time Skip------
------He needs his privacy people-----
I made sure to change into My Robin outfit, as I felt like training.
I walked into the main room. Everyone was doing their usual thing, except this time Conner was watching Wally play video games on the TV. I smirked and sunk back into the shadows. I let out a cackle, deciding to loosen up. Wally bolted up and Artemis' head shot up, looking around the room for me. Connor scowled but looked for me anyways. Kaldurr looked ready to hide in the ocean. They all knew what I was doing. I was just in one of those moods again.
"My friend? Please come out where I can see you." Kaldurr tried. I cackled again, this time from the other side of the room. They spun around, but I had already moved to the side.
"Anyone wanna spar?" I asked. They snapped towards my direction. I moved until I was behind them. I smirked. Wally's always a good target. I quietly jumped from my hiding place, and flipped onto Wally's shoulder. He let out a girly terrified squeal. I flipped off his shoulders and landed next to the TV.
"Who's up for sparring?" I asked, still laughing at Wally, now leaning on the TV. Aqualad rose his slightly shaking webbed hand. (Flipper?) I'm not really that scaring? Right...? Wait till they meet Slade. Then they'll have something to actually be scared of. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. No. I don't want them to meet Slade. Although its not really like I have a choice in the matter...
"Then lets go train!" I chirped, feeling the need to move. I never noticed how stiff I was from sitting in front of the computer for so long. How does Bruce do that all the time? I really don't get it... He does that for hours. Maybe he's used to it.
The training simulation came on, and I smirked.
"Are you ready my friend?" Kaldurr asked, getting into a fighting stance.
"As I'll ever be." I replied, also taking a fighting stance. I just hope I don't pull my stitches again. I was the first to attack. Leaping at Aqualad, then aiming at punch at his chest as he jumped away. He easily jumped back again, avoiding that attack too. He jumped forward aiming a punch at my face, but I immediately ducked, and kicked his feet from under him, and punched him in the chest to make it more effective as he fell to the floor.
Robin: Win
I grinned at Aqualad, before lowering my hand to help him up. He gave me a small smile and took my hand, to which I helped him up.
"Once more?" I asked. Aqualad nodded.
"Great!" I smirked. Time to knock him off his feet, again. I took a fighting stance.
The screen flashed. Go!
This time Aqualad was the first to attack. He swung his fist as me, which I easily side-stepped. I threw a punch at his head, but he blocked it with his forearm. He then swung his other fist at me, successfully hitting me in the chin. I stumbled back, just as Aqualad brought out his water bearers. Because that's exactly what I need right now. I dodged a powerful blow of water by rolling out the way. Tuck and roll. But Aqualad didn't stop there. I hand-springed away when another gush of water rushed towards me. It splashed to the ground harmlessly.
Suddenly the fighting stimulation cut off.
"What?" I blurted.
"What happened? Has the stimulation cut out?" Aqualad pondered.
"Robin." Batman's voice rang out. I turned towards him and Nightwing, with Red Hood following behind them.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"We need to talk." Batman stated before walking off. I sighed and followed.
"See you guys later!" I called, waving slightly.
"Goodbye my friend." Kaldurr shouted back.
I walked down the hallway, and eventually we stopped in the mission room.
"Computer, secure the room." Batman commanded. The metal door automatically shut along with any other exits, just after Red Hood decided to step in.
Room:Secured.
"We need to talk." Batman stated.
"I bet I don't even need to guess the topic, do I?"
"Nope. Now spill." Hood ordered, flicking my head. I winced at the headache that began to take place.
"I don't know anything." I muttered, rubbing my forehead.
"What were you talking about with him before we got there?" Batman asked.
"I wouldn't exactly call that talking..." I muttered.
"Dick..."
"Yeah yeah... He had barely said anything when you had gotten there anyways."
"Your lying. Dick, I was outside your room when you were speaking with Wally." Batman said. My eyes widened, before narrowing again under my mask.
"How much did you hear?" I asked.
"Enough to know that you figured out his motives." Batman stated.
"You were spying on me?" I asked. How could he? That's totally an invasion of my privacy!
"I didn't mean to. I wanted to talk to you when I overheard your conversation. I didn't hear much. Only the end. But that was enough. You figured out his motives. You need to tell me."
"Leave it to Batman to be prepared..." I muttered. I grit my teeth.
"Fine. But it's just a guess really. I know some of his plans but not all of them. I dunno, I'm still working on it."
"Tell me what you know so far."
"Well.-" I cut myself off. I don't know why. I felt like something bad had just happened. My stomach dropped and my fear froze me, as my heart rate increases.
"Robin? Hey, you okay?" Hood asked. My breathing increasing.
"Is he having a panic attack?" Nightwing asked.
A surging pain echoed throughout my body. I Immediately recognized it as electricity. Electricity was surging throughout my body, making me scream out in pain as I fell to the floor. How is this happening?
A click sounded in my ear signalling an ear comm turning on. But I hadn't put mine in. How did this one get in?
"I can't have any of that, now can I? You'd ruin my plans if you just went ahead and told them." Slade's voice called from the Comm inside my ear. My family's calls were long silenced as I could no longer hear what they were saying due to the immense pain showering my body, and Slade's voice in my ear.
"But now, onto more important matters... I can't help but think... No, notice... I can't help but notice they treat you as a helpless little kid. They see you as just a child."
I'm not a helpless little child... They don't treat me like that... They just... Want to protect me!
"But have you noticed something? I haven't dared done so. I have treated you like I would treat any other opponent. Even the so-called villains treat you like a little child. Like a little pest that's just there to tag along."
Now that I think about it... He didn't treat as if I was a child like everyone else does. Even villains treat me like a little kid... Like Bane, and Frost...
No! I won't allow myself to listen to what Slade says!
A crash echoed somewhere around me, and the sounds of fighting and grunting sounded around me. I couldn't bring myself to look at what was happening as the electricity was still trying to roast me alive. But I also couldn't fall unconscious, as it wasn't powerful enough. But it still hurt like heck. Suddenly the electricity cut off, making my body steam from the heat. I made no move to move just yet. I'm not an idiot. I wouldn't be able to stand up straight after being electrocuted. The room was silent for a couple of minutes before I eventually pushed myself up.
My stomach dropped at the familiar sight. Batman, Nightwing, and Red Hood was scattered across the floor, but this time.... There was a lot of blood splattered everywhere, and a lone sword next to Batman's head.
"No!" I cried, jumping up to help them. They had to still be alive! They had to be!
Someone grabbed the back of my collar and pulled me back, resulting in a yelp escaping my throat.
I turned my head to see who had pulled me, but when I saw who it was, my breath hitched in my throat and my heart rate increased.
Slade.
"I'd like to talk to you Robin." He stated.
"Wha-What? How... How did you?" I stuttered.
"You need to work on your security."
"But... How did you get past he team?"
"They weren't much of a challenge."
My heart stopped. I yanked myself from his grip and ran towards the main room, ignoring the blown up door. There's just no way! I mean he couldn't have taken out Superboy as well! That would just be impossible!
I finally reached the main room and once again, my heart stopped. My team were wiped out. Still alive, I could tell that much, but wiped out. Miss Martian was lying next to a fire. (What was burning I couldn't tell.) Superboy had a kryptonite bullet in his shoulder, Kid Flash was a dent in the wall, with blood running down his face, and his ankle twisted in such a weird manner I was surprised it hadn't just snapped off. Aqualad was also lying near the fire, with a bit of blood running down his arm, and his water bearers were scattered throughout the room.
Someone grabbed my collar again, and began dragging me towards the Zeta Beam.
"No! Let me go! Let. Me. Go!" I shouted, thrashing violently in his grip, but he didn't seem affected in the slightest. I noticed the team were beginning to stir, meaning they were definitely still alive. I continued shouting at him, as we neared the Zeta Beam, still desperately trying to escape. Kid Flash was the first to regain control. "Robin!" He shouted to me. I turned my head to face him, and stopped my useless struggling. "KF! Are you okay?"
"I'm not even going to answer that!" He replied. What is with all these dumb questions recently? I began struggling again, as KF pried himself from the wall and attempted to stand up, but epicily failed due to his ankle. I could hear him faintly mutter to himself about something I couldn't decipher, just as we reached the Zeta Beam.
"Robin!" KF shouted, as I was beamed away.
