Chapter Twenty Four: truth or dare: part three

I can't believe Ray never told me any of this. That's horrible. Nix. Nix's turn is next. He rolled his eyes and grabbed his card.

Give Jordan what he deserves. He said some pretty bad things about you during his turn. The bat is in the corner.

What the fuck? That's messed up. Who does that? We all looked over to the corner. There indeed was a bat there now. Nix got up and grabbed the bat, firmly. Really not wanting to deal with this shit. He turned it over, holding it over his shoulder and walked over to Jordan. He muttered a quick "sorry" and hit him over that head. Jordan's eyes bulged and he grabbed his head. A trickle of blood ran down is forehead and Angie screamed. She'd have to wait to make sure he was fine until the game was finished. At least Jordan was alive, and he was still awake, so we had time.

Everyones eyes turned to me. My turn. I took a deep breath and glanced at Chris. Her eyes were wide. I tried to give her a reassuring smile, and grabbed my card.

What is it that you're hiding from Jordan, and the rest of your friends.

My heart dropped into my stomach. I couldn't tell them about my home life. They'd hate me.

"Philip! Just say it!" I heard Chris screech in the background. I had to say. Even if they'd hate me I couldn't die yet. I needed to protect her.

"My dad is addicted to alcohol. I have a three year old sister who mostly depends on me to survive, and my mom is at work almost 24/7 so we have enough to survive. Let's move on now. Henry it's your turn."

"Yo, Phil, why didn't you tell us? Why didn't you tell me?" I looked over at Jordan. Wait, he's not going to hate me?

"I'm sorry. I thought you guys would judge me, hate me, look at me differently I guess. Sorry," mumbling, I looked down, ashamed to look my friend in the eye.

"Hey, it doesn't matter to us at all Philip," now Angie spoke up. Chris got up and looked at me. A gentle smile dancing on her lips. She gave me a hug.

"We don't see you any differently, Philip. I don't see you any differently," she soothed into my ear. I was so glad they didn't hate me. Now we just had to get out of here. We could talk about this stuff later. Chris went back to her spot and we all looked over at Henry. Lily whimpered, and Henry squeezed her hand.

"I'll be fine," he reassured her.

Smile. Wide. Don't. Stop. The timer is set. Go.

Henry "smiled" a forced, regretful smile. He looked at Lily, who had a horrified look on her face. We all heard a beep and looked back over at the tv screen. There was a timer starting at 500 minutes on it. Henry couldn't drop his smile until five hundred minutes from now. If he dropped it, he died. There wasn't anything else her could do, but hope, and smile widely. It was his sisters turn now. We all looked to her, pleading her to be brave. She gulped and reached for her card. She was last. That means she needed to finish and we could all be done. I hope. She touched her finger to the card and another explosive noice rang through our ears. Lily let out a guttural screech, and we all looked over. She had blood seeping out of her upper arm. We all looked around, and Heather got up, running to the closet to grab bandages. Angie was next to Lily, so she would hopefully be fine. Lily had tears streaking down her face and neck, while her brother looked at her, the same forced, aching smile planted on his face. Lily let out a yelp in agony as Angie retracted the bullet and Henry grabbed her hand.

It took roughly ten minutes until the bullet was retrieved. Lily holding in her screams as Angie searched for it. Once the bullet was out, Angie reluctantly went to sewing. Chris looked nauseated, and Jeremy let out a gag. Heather looked on the brink of a breakdown, but I couldn't blame her. Jordan was quieter than usual, watching Angie, making sure she was fine.

The bandages were placed and wrapped, and the timer for Henry on the clock said 449 minutes. Lily needed to take her card still. Wincing, she reached forward and grabbed her card, this time no explosive noises or gun shots were heard.

Why did Henry's girlfriend break up with him?

Lily paled, gulping down her saliva. Henry looked at her confused, but not letting the smile leave his concerned features.

"I didn't mean to do it. Remember the day when I went to a party? I had been stressed about the finals, and needed a break. Well, I was hanging out with Caroline, and we were talking about you. Well, i has overheard you talking to your friends. I thought you wanted to break up with her. She was so in love with you. I thought It'd be better if I told her, so I did. Turns out you were just acting something out for your friends. I'm so sorry. I tried to make it right, but I haven't talked to her much since then," Lily now had tears of sadness along with her pain. Henry's smile was a grimace now, but it remained on his features, as his eyes glimmered with tears threatening to fall.

"We'll figure it out, Lily. It's fine." He struggled to find his words, but he knew this wasn't the time to argue, he really was a perfect older brother.

Your first game has concluded.
