Chapter Twenty Eight: Again?!
POV CHANGE
CHRISTINA'S POV
I woke back up with dew covered, bright green, grass against my face. I'm outside! I'm outside! We're ok! We're ok? What? Is this a dream? Where was everything? Where were my friends? I got up, slowly, my head starting to pound. I ran in the first direction I thought to run in, stopping for a breath after running for a while. Looking up I realized I couldn't tell what the weather was much at all, it just seemed, white. I started running again, looking for anything to give me an idea on what was happening. I looked behind my shoulder, seeing if anyone else was there, and I ran into a wall. Wow, great job Christina, smart person of the y- why is there a wall in the woods. Holy... this is part of the game. We're not outside, we're in some type of fake outdoors for another game. It almost looks like someone filled an indoor football stadium with trees. Just then, I heard a loud alarm going off.
Go to the alarm. That's part of the rules. Rules are important.
I did as "the devil" said, and tried to make my way to the buzzer. After working at following the sound for what felt like hours, I reached a giant speaker, and a table with ten guns sitting on it. A few of us had already gathered up. Once we had all arrived, the speaker finally stopped blaring. We all let out a sigh, glad for the quiet.
Each of you is to grab a gun. Two of the guns have real bullets inside them, the rest are paintballs. There is no way to tell which gun is which. The gun you choose with go with a person you must shoot. The game will not be over until you've shot your target. Watch out, you don't want to be shot first, that means you're weak, and the weak ones go first.
We all looked around, cautiously stepping towards the table. No one wanted to grab theirs first. Ray decided to be the bigger person and take one for all of us. He reached forward and slowly grabbed the first gun. As we were expecting, a booby trap had been set. This time, instead of a gunshot, which seemed too easy, a knife was launched into Ray's side. He fell backwards, as Jeremy screamed. Soon joined by Lily and Nix, as chaos sprung into action. Angie ran forward, kneeling down next to Ray, not being sure what to do without any supplies. She grabbed a sharp rock a few feet away and pulled of her sweatshirt. We all looked around, confused at her actions, but quickly realized she'd used the rock to rip the sleeve off her sweatshirt, so she could use it to wrap around Ray. Slowly, she removed the knife, called for Jordan to apply pressure to the wound. As Jordan ran forward to do so, she wrapped the sleeve around Ray, creating a bandage to wrap the wound until we had something better.
"Nothing hit his vitals, and the wound isn't too deep. It's going to hurt like hell, but he'll be fine." Angie informed us, keeping incredibly calm.
The game has begun.
Quickly, we all grabbed a gun, and Ray sat up, steadily to grab his, and we ran. As soon as my fingers touched the weapon, the name Jordan filled my ears, but seemed silent to everyone else. Great, so I've got to shoot my life long best friend. I saw a tree ahead of me with steady looking branches, and began to climb.
