Chapter 3: Ray's House
I decided to walk home today since I didn't feel like dealing with loud screaming for ten minutes. Making sure to let Angie know, I grabbed my backpack and started my journey to my house. It wasn't a bad day outside and I even passed some ducks, so I was in a pretty good mood when I got home.
"Hey little sis!" My brother, Darian had called from the kitchen where he was probably stuffing his face with pizza.
"HEY BUTTFACE, I MEAN BIG BRO!" I called while heading up the steps.
"VERY MATURE! OH! MOM HAS A LATE SHIFT SHE WON'T BE HOME UNTIL LATE!"
"GOT IT! I'LL NEED A RIDE TO RAYS IM SPENDING THE NIGHT! PLLEEEEEASEEEE?!"
"SURE BUT ONLY IF WE STOP YELLING!"
"THANKS AND OK!" I laughed and shut my door letting out a sigh and flopping onto my bed. I then grabbed my bag and packed what I needed for the night, which wasn't much since I spent a lot of time at Ray's and his house was pretty much my second home.
"YO! HURRY YOUR ASS UP, CHRISTINA!" Darian yelled from the steps.
"LANGUAGE!" I screamed back trying not to laugh as I shouted to him. Grabbing my bag and hair brush, I scurried down the steps. "Ready, boss," I teased, sarcasm practically slapping him in the face. My brother and I were like that. We loved each other though and it was just the way we were. We both knew the other was always joking around though, and he's there for me when I need him.
The drive was pretty quiet but I still had some small talk with my brother. He's not much older than me. This is his first year of college, so we have a lot in common. I pulled out my earbuds as we drove up to Ray's driveway.
"Thanks again for the ride, Dickface!" I called with a wink.
"Don't mention it, Dipshit!" He shouted back with a salute as I rolled my eyes and shut the car door.
I didn't even bother knocking on the front door as I walked into the familiar scenery of Ray's foyer. Setting my bag down I walked into the den and was met with the familiar faces of Ray, Angie, and Jordan. Looks like Poppy and Philip were still on their way. I wonder if they're together. I hope not, not that I really care though. I took a seat next to Angie, making sure to leave an open space for Philip, and we left another one across the room for Poppy.
As the hour went by Poppy showed up, but we were still waiting for Philip. I'd already texted him twice, and I was starting to get worried. Philip was rarely late for anything because he hated the attention of being late and having all eyes on you, but he was never late for something like hanging out with his friends.
When the two hour mark had passed, Ray had already ordered some pizza and I had been voted to go to the door when the pizza guy knocked. I was unbelievably relieved when instead of the pizza guy being at the door, I was greeted by Philip. I gasped and pulled him into a hug and I could hear Jordan in the other room groaning as he realized it wasn't the pizza guy.
"Where were you, we were worried?" I asked him to which he responded with a short answer of having an errand to run when traffic got bad. Seemed weird but I let it go as the pizza guy pulled up.
I walked back in with the pizza, being greeted with cheers from Jordan since I held his glorious pizza. Everyone was happier now that Philip had arrived.
After finishing my slice of pizza I waited for the rest of the group to finish. Philip still wasn't happy with the amount I had eaten but it was funny to me as I still held no appetite as usual. Jordan was second to finish which didn't surprise me as he had practically inhaled his four slices of pizza. Ray and Philip were both slowing down when they decided to have a pizza eating contest. I was glad we had ordered four pizzas since Ray had already had five slices and Philip had three. They started the competition, and Poppy took a third slice of pizza, finished it, and declared herself full. Angie had just finished her second slice and didn't even get a third of the way through her third slice when she quit. Ray ended up winning the contest when Philip gave up pretty suddenly. I was glad because I was getting bored. I think Philip could tell too because he asked what we should do next.
"LETS PLAY TRUTH OR DARE!" Poppy always loved that game. She always had the best truths and dares ever. We all sat in a little circle of doom and started the game. Of course when we spun the bottle I had to start.
