Trapped in a Loop of Lies
((This is pretty ooc and not spoiler free anymore so enjoy I guess....))
"... Kokichi?" Kiibo was staring at Kokichi, who appeared to be speaking to no one.
"I swear. I will defeat the mastermind..." he kept repeating that phrase over and over.
"Kokichi? What's wrong?"
That was before the third trial. Against everyone's best hopes and wishes, another murder had taken place. Two people were killed by Korekiyo. Angie and Tenko. Himiko has changed a little bit more as the numbers of the group kept shrinking.
Kokichi hasn't changed much at all. There was that serious moment when Kiibo left the cafeteria on the day Shuichi returned. He was standing in the courtyard... just staring at the ceiling, repeating some phrase. Kiibo came up from behind and asked what's wrong, but Kokichi just turned around and started shouting nothing but robophobic comments. Maybe he doesn't want to be taken seriously?
Shuichi was the same too. There appears to not have been many side effects from the machine he has knowledge of. Occasionally he'd throw up and he'd panic, but whenever he would tell someone, they just nodded and continued as if that were normal.
It has been a while since the last puke session and Shuichi was glad. Free time of the day had just started and Shuichi was just walking around. He already maxed out most of the people alive, having cheated and the ones who keep dying were ones he had yet to talk to. He also just went and purchased a bunch of items, keys included, from the casino so he already had finished that. He sighed. Did he really have naught to do?
And that's when he stumbled across Kiibo in the dorms. Kiibo was in the dorm lobby, doing some stretches? Shuichi thought for a moment if he should hang out with Kiibo when a question entered his mind. "So you remember nothing? Not the shed? Or what happened... in it?" That was Kiibo's question to him long before the trial. He decided to ask about it. He went up to the stretching Kiibo and tapped on his shoulder. It startled the poor robot, causing him to jump. But when he turned around, he sighed with relief, "Shuichi, hello! You had startled me..."
"Sorry about that. I just... I was curious about something." Kiibo tilted his head in confusion and thought for what it could be about but let Shuichi continue, "Earlier, before the trial, you asked me about some shed. Did I... did something happen after I hit my head?"
Have you ever seen a flustered and embarrassed robot? It's quite a treat. Kiibo had quickly glued his hands to his face, startling Shuichi. The robot danced around in one spot before calming down a little bit. "U-Um, would you like the truth?"
To be honest, judging by Kiibo's reaction, Shuichi wasn't exactly sure. But he sighed and answered, "Sure. Yeah."
"W-Well," What sort of detail would you tell a person who slept on you? Oh you fell asleep on my shoulder, no biggie. That might offend them! Oh, you fell asleep on top of me, allowing you to rest while I guarded you. That's too embarrassing! "Y-You and I got locked inside of the shed together. And you weren't feeling well... because you hit your head... so I offered myself to you."
Shuichi stood there for a moment and processed what Kiibo said. He then blushed heavily and felt adrenaline rush in like an airplane. What did he do?! What did he do to this robot?! "Wha-What happened?"
Kiibo stared at Shuichi. Did he say something wrong? He had not done enough research on intimate romance if that had been the case. So he'd have no idea that what he said was wrong. "You fell sleep leaning against me. You really were weak and warm. I apologize for not being cooler but you needed to stay warmed up. Afterwards, Monokuma and Kokichi has found us."
A heavy sigh of pure relief escaped Shuichi. This conversation did more harm than good. "That's good. I thought I had done something strange since you seemed so touchy about the situation. I'm sorry I was a burden."
"No! You misunderstood me! I think the experience was quite educational! I got to put what I had read into play. And if anything... it was I who had done something untrustworthy. You were asleep, however, so it's all okay." Kiibo was merely talking about the impure thought he had. (Even though it really wasn't impure). But the wording, of course, threw Shuichi in for another loop. One that he just sighed at.
He looked around and found a set of stairs that would lead up to another set of dorms. He walked over and sat down, making room for Kiibo. "Well, thank you for telling me, I guess. I'm glad I did nothing strange."
Kiibo stared at Shuichi as he talked. He would've sat down but something had crossed his mind. It was educational? But did he really learn anything about romance? No. He decided he'd better make up for it here. He sat down next to Shuichi and spoke, "Hey Shuichi?"
"Yeah?"
"What do people do when they enter a romantic partner ship with someone? Is it the same as when they were friends?"
Shuichi thought for a moment. He really wasn't an expert on romance but the love hotel has sure taught him a thing or two. (He has yet to have Kiibo's btw). "Well, it's a bit different from a regular friendship. You kiss and hug and say stuff like 'I love you'. But you also learn how to sacrifice for the special other you've entered a relationship with. And it's special because you can only be in one relationship at a time. Why do you ask?"
Kiibo answered a question with another question, "And what if you aren't in a relationship, but have a motivated feeling to kiss someone?"
"That's called a crush. When you hold romantic feelings for someone you haven't entered a romantic relationship with." Shuichi then paused, thinking before asking, "Kiibo, did you want to kiss someone?" Kiibo started pressing his fingers together, his embarrassment levels rising. He looked in the direction away from Shuichi and slowly nodded. Which surprised Shuichi, for he just assumed Kiibo was going to say no. "W-Well... when you have a crush, the best thing to do is always be there for them. Until you're ready to confess your affection to them. And I guess... I'm no expert on this, but if you really do care for them, then keeping them safe and happy will come naturally." Shuichi nodded and smiled at Kiibo, who had turned back around to look at him. Kiibo felt even more embarrassed for some reason and wanted to run away somewhere.
But as if he malfunctioned, he couldn't think of a good excuse to run away with. So he just sat there in solemn silence.
It was a good five minutes before Shuichi jumped up, holding a hand to his stomach. He quickly apologized and exclaimed he had to leave before rushed himself to his dorm room. Kiibo watched him leave and felt the butterflies in his stomach ease. But the disappointment of him leaving... grow.
"I had no idea you wished for such levels of affection." Someone had been behind the staircase, listening to their entire conversation. Kiibo jumped and turned around, "Especially for Shuichi, of all people."
Kiibo sighed heavily, feeling the weight of the world leave his shoulders. Everyone keeps startling him lately, "Maki. It's just you. Wait... you heard everything?"
A small smile appeared on Maki's face as she moved around the stairs to tower over the robot. "'And what if you aren't in a relationship, but have a motivated feeling to kiss someone?' Those were your words, correct?"
Kiibo groaned in embarrassment and tried to hide his face in his hands once again. "But why were you eavesdropping?" He mumbled.
"Well, I was searching for Shuichi to ask him something. I had just finished looking for him here when I noticed you. But then he suddenly appeared to talk to you. So I hid behind the stairs, to wait for you two to finish talking. I can't believe you didn't notice me that whole time. I wasn't even trying to hide so well."
Kiibo sighed and felt like he had been convicted of something. "You said you had to ask him something? May I ask what that was?"
Maki glared at him with a look of 'do you want to die?' But then sighed and eased her look, "Actually, you already asked him what I wanted to know."
"Huh?"
Maki felt her face tint to a lighter red shade, crossing her arms as she looked away. "What does it mean to have a crush?"
Kiibo stared at Maki, who seemed pretty off guard. This was odd because she was the last person Kiibo ever expected to have a crush. "It is Kaito?"
"N-No!" So it is. He felt a little more relaxed, though, since he wasn't the only one who seemed to struggling with their emotions.
"W-Well! I don't think I have a crush anyway. I was just curious so I asked Shuichi! And I'm glad it provided some assistance for you. At least, I hope it did."
Maki stared at him, almost taken aback, "No... it's pretty obvious you like Shuichi. I mean, you're thinking about him a lot and I see you staring at him all the time. Even when Kokichi's bothering you, you still try to assist Shuichi all that you can." She sighed heavily and glared at Kiibo, "There's no way you're that oblivious to your own actions."
Kiibo thought for a moment. She's not wrong, he's constantly been worried about Shuichi, "B-But that's just because he was poisoned!" Of course I'd worry! And he's a good friend."
Maki couldn't deal with such an annoying personality any longer. She just accepted it and walked away, leaving towards the cafeteria. Kiibo still stood in the same spot, reevaluating his actions. He placed his hand over his chest. "Maybe..." he spoke out to no one, feeling his embarrassment levels rise despite being alone, "I do... have a crush on Shuichi... AH! That's so embarrassing to even say! What was I thinking?" The flustered robot buried his face in hands as he walked into his own dorm room.
His face flourished with the vibrant variations of the color red. He cupped his hands around his cheeks, feeling the warmth of his face quickly rise up. The words still dwindled inside his head, as if taunting him to fall into an even deeper level of embarrassment. His heart began to pound louder, blocking out any sound that maybe be playing at that moment. His dull green eyes stared ahead, a bang falling in front of one. He bit his lip as he thought about the robot in a different sort of view. Did he like him too? Shuichi didn't know. He's even more surprised that Kiibo discovered something this important before he did.
His imagination and normally worrying personality would've continued to evaluate his relationship with Kiibo, but another thought resounded in his head.
"When was I... poisoned?"
