Dream
Nerves ran through my being. Anxiety coursed through my veins. Love resonated in my heart. I smiled as I pulled on my tuxedo. Today was the day I would get married to Jaehyun.
I smiled as my best friends stood beside me in the waiting room. Jisung, Doyoung, and Chenle were all wearing pale blue tuxedos like I had wanted. I was wearing a darker blue tuxedo, while Jaehyun wore a solid black one.
"It's a shame your father couldn't be here. He would have loved the man you turned out to be." My mom spoke with a smile as tears fell down her cheeks. She hugged me tightly and walked me down the aisle. I looked to the ground with a small smile as I walked closer and closer to my soon-to-be husband Jaehyun.
"Do you, Lee Taeyong, take Jung Jaehyun to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, to cherish and love, for as long as you both shall live?" The priest asked. I nodded my head.
"I do!" I smiled widely. I looked Jaehyun in the eye.
"Do you, Jung Jaehyun, take Lee Taeyong to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, to cherish and love, for as long as you both shall live?" The priest asked. I smiled as Jaehyun smiled. Suddenly, his face contorted with anger.
"I do not. Lee Taeyong is a monster, whom I could never love." Jaehyun snarled.
I woke up with a start as tears rolled down my cheeks. I sobbed hard as I covered my face. Jaehyun stirred from beside me. I smiled through my tears and cuddled into Jaehyun- the real Jaehyun.
Jaehyun opened his eyes and looked at me confused.
"Taeyongie, baby, why are you crying to hard?" Jaehyun asked. I laughed as it now seemed stupid to me.
"I had a nightmare that we got married, and you said I was a monster you could never love." I hiccuped. Jaehyun held me closer to himself.
"I love you, Lee Taeyong. It was all just a nightmare, so please forget it, okay? You aren't a monster. I love you to the moon and back, I promise." Jaehyun reassured me. I still laid in bed crying.
"But I am a monster, Jaehyun! I am what I was always taught to fear- a demon!" I wailed and rubbed my tearful eyes. My wings poked themselves out of my bare back. Jaehyun smiled softly and stroked my right wing.
"You haven't killed anyone, Yongie. You aren't a monster, but I am." Jaehyun spoke gently. I shook my head no.
"You aren't a monster, you've just made a lot of mistakes. You've killed some people, yes, but you had to do what it took to keep on fighting." I kissed his lips. Jaehyun gently pulled me onto his lap and never broke the kiss. Well, not until Sicheng gagged behind us.
"Lovebirds, I have a request from Lucifer. To prove yourself to him, you must collect him a human soul. You have twenty-four hours to complete this task, and I'm here to help you along with it." Sicheng smiled proudly. I was shocked to my core.
"I have to kill someone?" I asked. Sicheng looked at me calmly, then nodded his head wordlessly.
"You must kill one person for Lucifer, by eight a.m. tomorrow. I'll help you find someone you're comfortable with killing." Sicheng still smiled at me. I was getting unnerved by his smile.
"Sicheng, I'm not gonna be comfortable no matter who I kill! Who is it- who do I have to kill?" I asked dryly. Sicheng clapped his hands.
"I'll find someone whose heart is cold as ice and mind as dark as night. I'll be back in an hour with him!" Sicheng smiled again. He disappeared from Jaehyun's bedroom quickly.
"Jaehyun, I'm gonna be a monster! An evil, venomous, monster! I don't want you to see me like this..." I mumbled and covered my face again. Jaehyun pulled my hands away from my face, giving me deja vu. I giggled as he kissed my nose.
"You're perfect, baby. Please don't worry about taking just one life, okay? I've had to take many many many lives because of my vampiric self. Please, calm down, baby." Jaehyun responded softly. I smiled and leaned my face into his neck.
"How do I kill someone?" I asked. Jaehyun shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know how a demon does it, but a vampire just tears their throat out or drain them dry of blood. Maybe you have super strength? Or magic?" Jaehyun asked himself. He threw a pillow at me.
"Try to rip it in half!" He exclaimed. I laughed softly and tugged the two top corners. It ripped like a hot knife through butter. Jaehyun's eyes went wide.
"Remind me not to anger you, Tae." He laughed. I nodded and apologized for ruining his pillow. He waved it off and sat a can on the table in front of me.
"Try lifting it with your mind!" Jaehyun demanded playfully. I nodded but looked at him with squinted eyes.
"What am I? A Jedi?" I asked and focused hard on the can. I focused too hard and the can crushed in on itself.
"Holy crap, Taeyong! Just do whatever you just did and that man is gone without you lifting a finger!" Jaehyun commented. I nodded and tried to lift the can with less force. It slowly moved upward from the table it was crushed against. I smiled widely and it fell back down to the table.
"Jaehyun, I did it!" I exclaimed. Jaehyun smiled and hugged me softly.
"I knew you could, baby." Jaehyun kissed my cheek and placed the can on his shelf. He smiled at me again and hugged me again.
"I'm so proud of you." He caressed my hair gently. I leaned into his touch happily.
"I hate to break this up, but I have the man." Sicheng spoke and dropped a man on the carpet. His hands and feet were blinded together and tape was over his mouth.
