Third pov
"A month? Yao, it's only been two days since I was kidnapped. I don't know what you mean.." Sam sniffled through his tears. He turned around in Holland's grip as he faced the witch. Sam placed one of his hands over Holland's interlocked ones on his waist.
"Sam, you were gone for two months total! We didn't have a clue about you for the first month, but then you showed up on the doorstep saying completely stupid things. Since your.. 'death' it's been another month!" Yao exclaimed. He looked down at Thane, who was sleeping on his chest, to make sure he wouldn't wake up.
"There's no way—"
"One day in hell is a month on Earth." Holland softly interjected Sam. Holland then laid his head on Sam's shoulder as he let the two converse. He gently snuggled his nose into Sam's neck, which caused the younger to blush and stifle a laugh.
"So you've been gone for two hell days, and you already found a boy? Wow, am I so stupid." Yao sighed as he pulled the angel to rest more comfortably on his chest. He tugged the blanket higher over them.
"This wasn't really my choice, Yao—"
"So you didn't consent to this?" Yao exclaimed. A fire blazed in his eyes as he glared at the demon lovingly holding onto his crush. Holland shifted behind Sam nervously.
"Lucifer had him perform a spell that would make him look like me. That's how he managed to fake my death, but neither of us knew what the side affects were." Sam began. He gently scratched at his arm- a nervous tactic Yao knew all too well.
"Sam, what was the affects?" Yao hesitatingly asked. His hands gently rubbed circles on Thane's back once he felt him stir.
"Holland and I are now connected at the heart and soul. Neither of us can control it, it's almost like a magic soulmate..." Sam whispered. He knew Yao had heard him by the face he made. His face had fallen, his eyes sad.
"Looks like we've both lost our crushes to other men, huh?" Yao humorlessly laughed. He shook his head in disbelief.
"Leave, Sam. We can talk again tomorrow if Tae wants to." Yao continued seriously. He turned himself and Thane onto their sides as he closed his eyes.
Seeing Sam cry caused Yao a pain he had never felt. His heart ached as he saw each tear fall, but he knew he had to be strong. Yao wouldn't stop Sam from his happiness, even if he himself weren't happy. He knew he had to let him go.
"I'm sorry, Yao." Sam sniffled before Holland teleported them to where Janos was.
The vampire was lifelessly dragging a drained human body towards a blazing fire. He tossed the body onto the fire, then turned around.
"Sam? How are you here- I drained you dry two months ago!" Janos exclaimed in disbelief. His eyes were wide with surprise as he stepped closer to the human. Before Janos could tap Sam, Holland quickly took hold of his hand.
"Nope, that was me, Janos. Lucifer told—" Holland was cut off by Janos lifting him up by his throat. Janos applied pressure to Holland's throat as his eyes turned red and his fangs protruded.
"You're the reason my Thanie is having hallucinations of Sam's death? You're despicable!" He yelled as he felt Holland's hands grip his wrist. Holland gasped for breath until he suddenly bore a smirk.
"Did you really think you could overpower me, Lucifer's highest ranked demon? Pathetic." Holland spat at Janos as he effortlessly set himself free. He gently massaged his aching throat as he protectively stood in front of Sam.
"You're only what, two hundred human years old? Try two thousand!" Holland snarled. He calmed himself down then turned towards Sam. He smiled as he gently reached for Sam's hand.
"Are you okay?" Holland asked Sam as he worriedly searched his face. His worry faded into happiness as he saw Sam smile.
"I'm fine." Sam softly replied. He really enjoyed having someone who cared for him and his well-being. He smiled widely at the taller male then enveloped him in his arms. Sam's smile stayed bright as he felt the taller wrap his own arms around him.
"Ew, enough with being domestic you two. It's sickening." Janos fake gagged as he watched how sweet the pair was being. His eyes had faded back into their beautiful shade of brown, however, his fangs remained in the open proudly.
"We'll stop being cute when you get back with Thane. He needs you, Janos. I can't be here for him until Yao lets me." Sam pouted. His pout soon faded as Holland lightly squished his cheeks as he cooed at him.
"He hates me, Sam. He hates that I would choose to save him first. These past two months have been hell, Sam. Although he isn't trying to, I can hear every wail, every sob, every time he breaks down over hallucinations. It's times like these I dislike our mind link." Janos teared up as he felt his heart shatter. Thane was having another episode as they spoke.
Janos tugged at his hair as he heard Thane's scattering thoughts. What had hurt the most was the moments Thane thought of taking his own life. Now wasn't an exception.
Janos crouched on the ground as tears raced down his cheeks. Silent sobs wracked his body as each of Thane's thoughts thought permeated Janos's mind. Janos hated being unable to comfort Thane and ease his painful thoughts.
"Janos, no matter how much he hates you for this, he will never hate you more than I. He will hate me for faking Sam's death, and taking him from Yao." Holland awkwardly tried to comfort the vampire as he knelt beside him. He gently patted Janos's back in a feeble attempt.
"Tomorrow, we can go to Thane. We can prove to him that I'm actually here, and you two can reconnect." Sam spoke quietly, but he knew the pair had heard him.
