"Are you sure?" I asked

"Yes we are!" she responded and continued "They are your parents, Laurel Miller and Henry Miller for sure."

I was silent as my mind was cleaned off.

"Are you there?" she asked

"Y-Yes I am"

"When your brother informed us about what you find, we immediately sent out our team to that house and started investigating the basement! We didn't find any other trace rather than one hair attached to a nail just below the table where Will Craig was put. We submitted it for DNA tests and unfortunately, it was your mom's"

"Oh"

"And while we interviewed your mom, she agreed to it and also your dad too"

"Oh Thank You So Much for informing"

"Oh, My God!" I said

"I know, I was shocked too!" said my brother

"But my gut feeling was always on my mom and dad" I replied

"Oh! They were already arrested for drug dealing and now for this murder!" said my brother

"So are you going to stay here with me?' I asked

"Yes, of course!" he said

"Well, I don't think I should go to the prom, everyone is gonna give me that weird look," I said

"Oh no! You should, you definitely should!" he said

"UGH! Okay! Will see!"

I was too tired, with all these things going on but also I was kind of happy that I wasn't living with those toxic parents. Anyways it was soon the next day, the prom was today! I woke up late because I didn't sleep properly yesterday, I head down the stairs and go to the kitchen to make something but there were pancakes already prepared! I also had an unread text on my phone, it was my brother's. He said that he had to get to work early today so he left, he'll return by afternoon.

I finish eating my pancakes and I hear the doorbell ring, I slowly go to the door and try to look from the hole but couldn't see anyone so I opened the door and look by. There was no one so I think to close the door but my eyes glance down at the mat. There was a cake, sugar-coated, and those cherries popping on the top, creamy but wait who sent it?

Oh! There was Jeff standing right in front of me with a board that mentioned "Will you go to prom with me?" how cute was that! and I suddenly heard a sound behind the bush and then I realized that it was Alyssa standing there recording us. I was shocked but definitely happy!

"Yes!" I answered.

"Hurrah!" Alyssa said and started dancing. Later we binged some shows and Jeff returned home to get ready but I was confused AF.

"Al, which dress should I wear? The blue one or the red one?"

Alyssa probably knew what Jeff was wearing so I asked her.

"The Blue One" she responded

"Okay"

We both get ready and yeah I forgot to mention my brother arrived a while ago. So we headed down.

"Oh My! You look incredible!" said my brother

The door bell rang. It was Jeff, we all get into the car and head towards the school. When we were on our way, the tire got punctured.

"Ah! Not Now!" said Peter

Oh! You are probably wondering who is Peter. He is Alyssa's prom date!

"What Happened?" said Jeff

"I think the tire got punctured," said John

"What?" I said

"Yeah Don't Worry I'll fix it!" said my brother

Soon the tire was fixed and we were on our way. "I think we are the only people who are gonna be late!" said Jeff

"Well I don't think so" I replied

As soon as we arrive we scan around the school and Woah! The school decor was rich but tasteful, it was colorful and innovative. We were walking by the gate and there were fairy lights all over the fences. The school was completely decorated with white and blue balloons. "Look I told you, we won't be late. There are so many people yet to come!" I said to Jeff

"Yeah, meanwhile shall we take pictures in the back garden?" asked Al

"Yup of course!" I replied

We head to the garden that's right behind the school, it had cherry blossoms and beautiful flowers all over. I clicked pictures of Alyssa and Peter and now it was our turn, as we head there and posed, the leaves of blossoms, the perfect silky hearts from the lower branches fluttered down like rain.

"Your pictures turned out amazing" said Al and we went back to the auditorium for the prom celebrations. There were food, photo booths, dance stages. They started playing a slow song and all the couples had to pair up to dance, no sooner did Jeff and I start dancing than the spotlight was just at us, we danced so calmly and happily. After the dance was done, we all had to take a seat to listen to the principal's speech, well not speech exactly just a few words, so Jeff, Peter, Alyssa, and I were sitting right next to the window.

"I hope you all are enjoyed by now! We will soonly announce the prom king and queen. The voting is opening in a while so that you guys can vote for your favorite couple today! Meanwhile, you can have fun at the photobooths or even eat.

Thank You" said the headmaster

Everyone started rushing here and there. "What do you say? What should we do first?" asked Peter

"Okay, so firstly we'll head over to vote then to the photobooth and lastly to eat!" I said

We did the same, the principal was asking everyone to get back to their places but everyone was enjoying, ignoring Mr.Honey. The DJ stops playing music and then there was complete silence.

"I want you guys to head back to your places, we will be announcing in a few minutes!" he said but then I heard a sound, a thud on the window.

"Did you hear it?" I asked but all three disagreed.

A few minutes later, Mr. Honey got on to the stage and was discussing it with some teachers, and then there was a loud thud! Everyone heard it this time, it was on the window right beside me. All of them started looking at me "Wait... Alyssa and I will check it out" I said

We both slowly go towards the window and open it, there was no one there so we decide to close it but our eyes glance down and we both yelled loudly...............
