FIVE.

"Lisaㅡ" Chitthip stopped when she saw the gloomy look on Lisa's face and by looking at her eyes, she could tell her daughter was crying.

"Dear, what happened?" She asked in concern and was about to walk towards her, but Lisa stormed off from there and ran through the stairs to the second floor where her bedroom is.

She looks at Chiquita who was sitting on the couch, equally looking confused as her mother.

"Canny, did you call your unnie for dinner?" Chitthip asked after she noticed Chiquita was climbing down the stairs.

"Actually, unnie is not opening the door," she replied with a pout. Chitthip stopped serving the food after hearing this, concern illuminated her whole complexion as she made her way towards Lisa's bedroom.

"Lisa-ah, what happened? Did you had a fight with Jennie?" Chitthip asked as she knocked on the door, but all she could hear is faint sobs coming from the room.

"Please, dear, open the door. Don't make me worry like that," she said again and placed her ear against the door with furrowed eyes. All she can hear are sobs and whimpers.

"Canny, go get the keys," Chitthip said to her youngest daughter who immediately ran downstairs to get the keys to Lisa's room.

"Lisa, please tell mom what happened," she tried again, but got no response in return. After a few minutes, Chiquita came back with the keys.

Chitthip opened the door by inserting the keys into the keyhole and as soon as she opens the door, she saw Lisa sitting at the edge of the bed by hugging her legs close to her chest while staring outside into the woods through the window and rocking her body back and forth while crying heavily.

"Lisa! What happened?!" Chitthip let out worriedly and immediately ran to her and wrapped her arms around her daughter's body and hugged her tightly.

Chiquita was fast enough to close the window because the room was freezing cold by the cold breeze that was coming into the room.

"What happened? Please tell mom. Maybe I can help? Please tell me why you are being like this," Chitthip begged as she run her palm over Lisa's back soothingly and her other hand stroked her hair gently.

Lisa stopped rocking back and forth and turn her head to look at her mother. She burst into tears again at seeing the concerned look of Chitthip's and hugged her tightly.

"Mom," she cried out, voice quivering along with her whole body.

"Shh... it's okay. It's okay, everything is okay." She tried to reassure her while gently patting her head and stroking her hair.

"Mom, J- Jennie..." Lisa tried to speak but the lump in her throat was preventing her from doing it.

"Hmm? Jennie what, baby?" Chitthip asked. Voice lacing with worry and anticipation.

"Jㅡ Jennieㅡ Jennie is dead." she finally let out and burst into tears again. Chitthip froze on her spot with wide eyes.

No wonder why her daughter is behaving like this. She's her mother after all. It wasn't unnoticed by her that Lisa has fallen in love with that girl named Jennie and now that she heard the said girl is no more in this world, she can understand how traumatic it is for Lisa, and as a mother, she has to be prepared for the worst.

But little did Chitthip know that there's more to unfold and her life is going to turn upside down after she finds out the whole truth and what is coming into the future.

"Mom! Unnie is not home!" Chiquita came rushing down the stairs after she went upstairs to check on Lisa but her bedroom was found empty.

Chitthip rushed out of the kitchen with wide eyes. "What? It's late in the evening right now, where did she go?" she said in a panicked tone as her orbs were looking up at her younger daughter who was standing on the stairs with worry written over her features.

"T-The window was wide open. I- I think unnie a-again..." Chiquita trailed off and gulped hard because she didn't even need to complete the sentence as her mother already understood what she meant and immediately stormed over to their front door and flung open it.

Chitthip stopped and looked over her shoulder to glance at Chiquita. "Stay here, I'll bring her back." All she said before stepping outside and closing the door behind.

She jogged down the same road in the dark where Lisa once did and found that house with a flower garden in front of it. The same garden that horribly changed her daughter's whole life.

Her steps were rushed, her breath was rapid and her face held pure concern for her daughter. It's the third time in this whole week that Lisa ran out of their house. And she would find her in the same place again and again.

Jennie's flower garden.

And as always, Lisa is sitting on the porch of Jennie's house, back leaning against the front door as she stares forward at the flower garden that is nothing but a grassy area right now.

"Lisa! Please stop doing it!" Chitthip cried out as she stood next to the garden area.

"She will come," Lisa mumbled out, voice thick and groggy, lips slightly white and chapped, eyes red and puffy as she didn't bother to avert her gaze from the old garden.

"She can't, dear. She's dead now." Chitthip let out an exhausting tone, her shoulders slumped down and eyes teary as she looked at her daughter's miserable state helplessly.

Lisa scoffed and let out a dry chuckle as her emotionless eyes finally made contact with her mother's, "She was dead, too, when I first met with her."

"Lisa, seriously I don't understand what you've been saying for the last few days. How can Jennie be dead when you first meet her?" Chitthip let out in a confused tone, her eyebrows furrowed together because her daughter's every word was flying over her head.

"Why does she not visit me now? I miss her, mom." Lisa let out instead, her eyes getting watery and her voice coming out shaky as she speaks.

Chitthip slumped her shoulders again and stared down at her daughter in pity. "I know you miss her, baby. But she's dead. She can't visit you now," she let out in a desperate tone, trying to confront Lisa that Jennie can't come back, that Jennie is dead.

"You don't believe me, mom. Do you?" Lisa said in a slow tone, her lips stretched into a bitter smile.

"Your words don't make any sense. Enough is enough, Lisa Manoban. Come back home." Chitthip said in a serious tone as she started to make her way towards her daughter.

"N-No, I don't want to go. My Jennie will be back. P-Please, mom, don't take me away from her," Lisa cried out in a shaky tone and with wide eyes when Chitthip grabbed her forearm and began to drag her out of the place.

"Don't be stubborn, Lisa! I can't leave you here to spend your whole night in the cold again. You have a fever! Come with me," she spat back and started to drag Lisa out of the porch who was struggling to stay.

"Mom, please. I don't want to go! Please let me stay with my Jennie. She will visit me soon I swear!" Lisa begged while shaking her head desperately as she kept staring at Jennie's house with tears rolling down from her eyes. Chitthip ignored her daughter's begs and forcefully dragged Lisa with her.

"Please, let me stay, mom! Let me be with my Jennie!"

"She will come back!"

"JENNIE!"
