Garlic Bread (Ratchet x reader) Tfp
I jolt awake in cold sweat from my sleep. For some odd reason, I had a dream of my dead body on the ground with garlic bread surrounding me in piles of piles.
You may think that is weird, but actually that was the best dream I've ever had.
So my parents are coming tomorrow. No big deal right? Wrong. These people will literally kill me if I don't please them. They just expect A LOT from me, and I mean A LOT.
Once, they told me to change my shirt to a blue one for some reason. When I didn't, my mom literally ripped the shirt off me, and put it on me herself. And they threatened me that I would never wear anything I ever wanted again.
Anyways, they LOVE garlic bread for some weird reason and request it each time they visit me. Not request... require.
So here I am, quickly pulling on clothes and grabbing my purse half-asleep and cursing at myself for being so stupid.
As a way to punish myself, I don't take my car and walk a few blocks to the store.
I pull out my phone. 2:28. Damn it. The cold air bites my face, numbing my already aching eyes. I huff as my breath appears I front of me and I trudge my feet along in my boots. Traffic trickles by and few people pass along the way. I see an ambulance pass silently, no sirens and a usual speed.
A few minutes later, I arrive at the squeaking, sliding doors of the mini-mart. I don't even take a cart or basket knowing that I was going to me in and out quickly.
The bright lights blinded me as I mentally punched myself for this being in this mess.
I looked like I just broke out of jail with dark circles on my eyes and a messy outfit. Big sweat pants, some black slip on boots, a black beanie, no bra, and an oversized sweatshirt that read 'I'd rather be sleeping'. Very accurate.
Scanning the aisles, I find aisle 6, the frozen aisle. I shiver at the abnormal cold, once again making me mentally punch myself. I grumble as I grab the handle to one of the doors and release another cool wave upon me.
I scan the freezer when my eyes land on the bright yellow tag of 'garlic bread'. Not taking a second to spare, I reach my hand only to find nothing.
No box. No package. No garlic bread.
My half-asleep brain not processing this, the upper half of my body falls into the freezer as the door hits me in the ass. I curse and while trying to get out, I bang my head on the next shelf.
"Are you alright?" A gruff voice asks from behind.
I quickly scramble out of my awkward position and stand, leaning against the door. I face the source of the voice, a tall man with dull orange and white hair with a tired look and stance, matching mine.
"I'm really not but I'm just going to say that I am to not waste your time." I respond in my scratchy voice.
"What seems to be the trouble?" He asks, his face lightening up a bit.
I sigh and shove my frozen hands into the pocket in my sweatshirt.
"My parents are coming in a few hours. I forgot to buy garlic bread for them and now there is none. And I'm talking to a stranger at the mini-mart at 2:30 in the morning. The universe loves me."
I ramble with sarcasm.
He gives a small nod.
"Did your girlfriend send you on an early shopping spree or what?" I ask in an emotionless tone.
He quirks the corner of his lip upwards and shakes his head.
"Just trying to get away from my team. Most of them play games and party most nights."
We stand silent for a few moments.
"I like your hair." I suddenly blurt out.
His strangely bright blue eyes meet mine in confusion.
"Thanks?"
I sigh at my awkwardness and turn toward the empty freezer once more.
"Looks like I have to go to every store in town to see who will sell garlic bread."
As I am about to walk away, the man stops me.
"Do you need a ride?" He asks.
Let's see: a man who is in the store at 2:30 in the morning with white and orange hair offers me a car ride even though we literally just met.
"Sure."
When we walk out, he guides me to an ambulance, the same one that I saw earlier.
"Are you a doctor?" I ask while getting in.
"Yes." He responds as he starts the vehicle... with no hands.
"So is the rest of your team doctors to?" I question as he pulls out of the parking lot.
"No. We are all trained in different fields, like... military and weapons." He stutters, trying to chose the right words.
"Ratchet, what is your location?"
A staticky voice makes me jump in surprise.
"Did your radio just talk?!" I look over the man wide eyed.
He meets my eyes with his equally surprised ones, mouth parted.
"Um..."
He quickly presses a button on the radio and talks into it.
"Tell the kids it looks like they're gonna have another friend." He grumbles and turns the ambulance around and start to speed in the opposite direction.
"Hey, what's going on? Where are you taking me?!"
I quickly question, fiddling with my seatbelt and trying to get it off.
It tightens and I let out a small squeak of surprise.
"All in good time." He responds.
Now we are in the desert and I am just sitting in the passenger seat trying to think of ways to escape.
Break the window? No. Punch the guy? He'd probably punch back. Let myself accept the fate that I might die? Sounds like a plan.
We approach a big stone structure and he isn't slowing down. It comes closer and closer, and we were going to make impact.
"Wait, are you insane?! That's a rock wall!" I scream and wait for impact when there is a whose sound.
I open my eyes to reveal that we are traveling through a tunnel and approaching a big room.
"Hey if you want to kill me, just get it over with." I urge.
He rolls his eyes and huffs.
"We're not going to kill you, you safe."
"WE? Whose we?!"
I wish I hadn't asked the question as we enter the giant room with... giant robots. I can't even scream as the man gets out of the ambulance and comes over and opens my door. The seatbelt automatically comes off as I am paralyzed with fear.
"Come on, get out." He says, holding the door open, reaching his hand out to me.
I lunge from the car and attach myself to him in fear.
"Why didn't you kill me when I told you to!" I whine, clutching to the man for dear life.
"Finally! Someone else!" I hear a teenage girl shout.
I scream in surprise as the man wraps an arm around me.
"She heard you Optimus, I didn't have a choice." The man says up to a giant robot.
"You did the right thing Ratchet." The robot responds.
"Please someone tell me what is going on!" I cry.
Suddenly the man disappears. I scream again.
"Where did he go?!"
I quickly look around until I hear metal clicking and rubbing from the ambulance. It transforms into a giant robot.
"I WAS IN THAT THING?!"
I fall onto my butt and stare up at the alien wide eyed.
"Where did the man go?" I question once more.
"I am he." The ambulance says down to me, having the same bright blue eyes as the man.
"Welcome to the Autobots."
So after I convinced myself that I wasn't dreaming, the robots and other humans told me everything. The war, why they were hear, and something about Dep-itc-ons.
Yes, so the man is actually a robot who has a human form. All of my questions have been answered among hours of hours of talk.
Suddenly, my phone starts to buzz as I see the caller ID. Mom. I pick up the phone, my hand shaking.
"H-Hey mom." I greet, trying to keep my voice straight as possible.
"Where the hell are you (Y/n)? We've been banging on your door forever! And most importantly, I don't smell any garlic bread? Care to explain?"
I gasp and look up to the giant robots, and apparently my new guardian, the ambulance.
"Can we get that garlic bread now?"
Hey guys! Finally a new chapter!
This is not a request, those are still in process.
Midterms have been killing me so writing time has been cut short a bit.
